I had shingles at 18. I have always been an old soul, so I agree with your theory. Back then I was told there was no medication. Definitely in the top 10 worst two weeks of my life.

I had shingles over Christmas a couple of years ago when I was 54, which I thought was too young, but apparently not. I had it with the same nerve as Jon, but on the other side. I thought I had breast cancer so I was pretty delighted to only have shingles, but it did hurt like a bitch. Only medicine offered to me was gabapentin, and it did NOTHING!

My little brother had shingles when he was 8. It was so rare to have shingles that young the doctors took pictures of it.
I got it when i was 17 or 18 during exam season. It was an expirence to be sure but I recovered quick enough.
I was 39 when I had the shingles. Youngest was 3 when he had the chicken pox. He played dot to dot with a permanent marker. Couldn't reach the one's on his back. So he came to me for help. He even numbered them. A week later I'm in the ER. I had the chicken pox as a child. It was shingles. I've had them 5 times since. I'm 62 now.

I got shingles at the ripe old age of 31, a month before I had to go into hospital for an operation to fix my incontinence ...yes I'm bloody sexy.
The week I turned 30 (a whole 2 years ago), I was crawling into bed and my wrist fully gave out on me... I did a full face plant and just laid there for a minute taking life inventory. I had sprained my wrist, basically hurt myself and fell, getting into bed…

hello fellow gunn! my shingles tend to pop out when my crohns is really bad, which meant i basically had shingles for 15months up till this august just gone and that was the 10th time i had gotten them, to make it perfect it was on the soul of my foot so i ended up having to use a walker with a seat! so embarressing have dinner don`t leave the house for 24 hours after yup i get the bloody sexy angle lmao

People talking about how it's heartless to upload, in my opinion it's fine. As Ricky Gervais put it, "comedy heals people". If we can laugh at a good joke, it distracts us from bad things and feeling miserable.

I had shingles flare up when I was around 18. I thought I had a bad case poison sumac I somehow picked up hiking. Thankfully I didn't get any other noticeable symptoms other than the bi lateral skin rash. However a mere 10mins under indirect sunlight caused the 2nd worst 2nd degree sunburn I've ever had. Take it from me and treat the sun as a instantly damaging laser any time you have been prescribed a medication that comes with an avoid sunlight, especially when you already have a rash covering half your back

Every man and his dog were wearing cardigans around 2010. They were trendy for a short while. Jon probably felt like he had lots of friends back then.
Anti-virals are absolutely effective against shingels, even active infections - I don't know why that doctor told you otherwise. I had exactly the same experience, except MY emergency doctor gave me the anti-viral prescription and I took it a day early, just in case.

Tbf I got shingles around 19 on my back and I never knew - I was just more depressed than usual until mom yanked my top up and sent me to the doctors 😂 I was pretty lucky that I didn’t feel it was that itchy (again, it just made me more depressed than usual, which I didn’t even know it could do) but it does linger. Didn’t have any treatment either, didn’t know there was any at the time 😂

On the topic of shingles - I didn’t get it, but they had to screen me for shingles once coz I had a weird rash. I was 15 and had never had chickenpox, they just thought I could’ve got it by magic

Shingles is stress related? Never heard that before.
I remember a friend of mine being diagnosed with it when we were both still at secondary school. If stress IS a factor maybe the other diagnosis of some kind of polyps in his bowel and having a section removed had something to do with it.
I believe he's OK now, but at that time that lad could not catch a break.
I think stress just generally reduces the effectiveness of your immune system and all sorts of things can go wrong in your body. Some peoples hair fall out if they’re stressed. For whatever reason, as I get stressed, my mouth, tongue and gums breaks out in cuts. Not pleasant.
For my pains I was born and brought up in Swindon. But I live in Bali now so I guess I have moved on.....

At 19 ive gotten shingles twice lol, it gets you when you’re stressed and your immune system is down :/ so it’s not a old men’s disease
As people age, their immune system weakens so that’s where the stereotype comes from! My brother had it at 14 poor thing!

Laughing because my daughter got shingles at the age of 4. She had chicken pox at 3 months (which was terrible) and then the stress of starting school brought her out in shingles.
I sent her to school thinking “it’s heat rash, she’ll be fine” and they sent her home saying “it’s impetigo, gross”. But the doctor confirmed shingles.
She must be a really old soul.

Alpaca wool is softer but they cost more than $50. Totally worth it though. That stuff feels like heaven.

The doctor said he was too young to have shingles? I got shingles when I was 15. Granted, I was anorexic and my immune system was shit because of that but you can't ever count shingles out if you've ever had chicken pox.
I've had shingles 3 times: first when I was 7, then 23, and again at 34. Awful disease, especially to look at - with all of the fluid filled skin bubbles. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

I think Sean would have been well aware that comedy can be healing and he’d want his young friend Jon to mourn in whatever way was most helpful to him. In this case he posted about it on Twitter. Since you don’t know either guy, maybe it doesn’t matter what you “kinda expected”?
Too young for shingles? Complete BS. I got shingles at 22 and the doctor never even mentioned age *or* medication! If you’ve had chicken pox you can get shingles. Simple.
It's impossible to make cardigans attractive. A garment which can easily be made in one piece is instead split down the front then rejoined by poking bits of plastic through holes. If your other garments had holes in them you'd throw them out or sell them to hipsters for ten times the price.
The only reason to buy a cardigan is that you're no longer flexible enough to put on a jumper. Not attractive.

Too young to have shingles?? My current gf had them when she was 5, had them again when she was 33. Ex-gf also had shingles somewhere in her 20s, I can't remember exactly.
I guess it's the trauma/stress at younger ages that does it.
