- The short, musical documentary, which features lively and colourful footage and photos Soiferman created over seven winters, paints a timeless, intimate portrait of winter in Montreal, specifically how the city deals with all its snow. “Montréal, Snowbec” is Montreal filmmaker and photographer Ezra Soiferman’s love letter to his beloved hometown.
Featuring music by Montreal hip-hop artist Josh “Socalled” Dolgin.

One of the beauties of Montreal is our 4 distinct seasons, and winter is my personal fav. Kudos to Ezra for this fine film reminding us to celebrate the beauty of every day and season.
Thank you so much, Jerry! Happy to make a film about your favourite season! ❄️
Our beautiful city, captured beautifully. ❤
Thank you, Nick! ❄️
This is our real Montreal, well done, congratulation Ezra!
Thank you, Jaroslava! ❄️
Wow that is incredible. Being from Australia I’ve never seen anything like this.
Thank you, Christie!
Having lived in Montreal for most of my life, winters really be like that for us. With eery snowfall though, there's always a dedicated team of people and machines to safely clear it away :D
Well said! ❄️
So fun to watch!!! Well done! I especially loved the mini tank.
Thank you, Maria! Happy you liked!❄️
@@ezrasoiferman I shared it with all my cousins in Italy. They will love it especially since they don’t get much snow where they live. Thanks for taking the time to document our beautiful city. We Quebecers are always complaining about the weather, the construction, the roads, the politics, I forgot how lovely our city is if we just pause and take a minute to really look at our surroundings. I have to admit, I got all emotional and felt so proud to be a Montrealer.
@@mariapalmieri3649 Thank you so much for sharing this about sending it to your cousins in Italy and what you thought of the movie. Glad you felt the emotion. ❄️
Soon the snow ❄️ will be back 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Came to this beautiful video via a link in a Washington Post article. Love the music too.
Thank you, Art! ❄️
Can you tell me where you saw it mentioned in the Washington Post? I’m very curious to see the story and I couldn’t find it online.
June 10 and there is still this mountain of snow covered with stone sand and other debris.
Fortunately the city no longer dumps used snow directly into the St. Lawrence River.
It was linked by a commenter on the article about California's record breaking snow.
Thanks! ❄️
i was born in montreal but my life is in st.bruno. i've lived through 56 winters. i don't like it at all. BUT, i love the beauty of snow. that shot of all the skaters on Beaver Lake was too short, it would have been nice to see that shot a little longer. I love xmas lights in snow covered yards. i love winter art. this was a very good video! thanks to the gazette for publicizing your film.
Thanks for the great feedback, Jay! Glad you saw the film. ❄️
I’ve been to every single place in this video and i live steps away from many of them !
So cool! Thanks!
