  • The beautiful Bee Hives (Dawapia Rocks) of Rabaul, Papua New Guinea has interesting history behind it. These rocks are erosional remnants of the original volcano and are revered by local people for their spiritual symbolism. In 1905 it was even home to 200 villagers and now it is a popular tourist destination, diving spot and local fishing spot.
These two rocks alone provide so much life to the marine and bird life here. What lurks below the water surface will amaze you!

Thanks for the video, I grew up in Rabaul in the early 80's, been snorkeling all around the area there but never at the bee hives.
Something I have to do one day when I go back to visit.
    Thanks again for the video.

Underwater footage interesting. Music...tense and not relaxing. Doesn't match the underwater scenes. I don't want to hear music designed for the dance floor. Calm gracious music wood be better to enhance the beauty of nature
