Boeing: "Thanks for ruining the company. As punishment you'll only get $267 million. Now... lets do some layoffs to get our stock price back up."
Whoo-Wee! That was cold blooded Poppy.
Dave Calhoun lied again at 33 seconds in. On camera. "That's what this is about". Right. I completely believe that's how it went. I'm being sarcastic.
And Boeing STILL won’t be discontinued while Ghetto United Airlines flies them! 700+ deaths were literally caused by Boeing because of their planes!!!!
"They are going to investigate? I am retiring"
DOJ: "Well, we can't charge anyone now. We will just charge them a few millions and keep it all for ourselves"
'MERICA!
yeah I Know disgusting BS as per usuall..... uhhh
Not enough! John Barnett the whistleblower was murdered; these CEO's should be in jail, not allowed to retire with their Golden Parachutes!
This. "Stepping down" means in legalese they weren't fired which means they get to keep their golden plated toilets. They belong in prison.
he'll be sitting on his golden toilet and ask: what are you going to do about it? 😂😂😂😂😂 nothing. we're too poor to do anything.😂😂😂😂
Can you prove they murdered him? Death cert says suicide?
I wouldn’t assume he even knew about it (plausible deniability). Boeing is a major defense contractor so pick CIA and any other three letter agency who would carry that out.
these CEOs only do what the major share holders want. and if they don't - they get fired. the only solution is to shut down the entire company. it is rotten on the inside.
Retiring is not the same thing as taking responsibility.
Don't let these people off even if they leave the company.
They're already under so much scrutiny. What more do you want?
@@dereksue4877jail
@@dereksue4877if these people actually put profits over people’s safety then they should go to jail. So yeah scrutiny isn’t enough.
@@dereksue4877 Are you for reals man? You don't get to walk out when things needs fixing, especially when it was under their watch. What they are doing is running away from the problem. Let me spell it out for you, ACCOUNTABILITY.
Engineers bring a man to the Moon, but managers make an airplane crash!
Yes accurate statement.
Great statement!
Hollywood bring a man to the Moon
"Stepping down" means they retire with their fortune and avoid any blame
Wait no one’s talking about that whistleblower who was killed?
whoever did it also owns the media
Company: "You did a terrible job. Here is a huge severance package."
Executives: "Thanks, suckers!"
Typical, they are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people and just get to walk away with a big wad of money.
Let me take my vacation time.. and get my Christmas bonus , and I'll be out of here....
That's what happens when you put profits first. This is a systematic problem. That is happening to all private companies in the US
People who know f-all about how things work are making all the major decisions and it shows.
Boeing isn’t private.
They belong in prison.
They haven't crashed a single plane.
he looks pretty happy for ordering a hit on that whistleblower, total psychopath
He's just retiring. Still no acknowledgement of fault.
Yup, that is what I got too. Didn’t see any sincere about the mess he has his hands on for years!
A multi-million $ severance package too. These CEOs always take the easy way out.
He'll probably leave with millions in severence and no penalties for leaving a key strategic company in ruins for other people to fix.... the American leadership way.
Murica = Myopic Short Term gains
Let reword this. "American taxpayers to clean up"
Once again corporate CEOs use the "Get out of jail free card" by just "resigning" and dodging all responsibility.
They should be going to jail
Rich people truly believe their job is the equivalent to an entire human life, and that by sacrificing their job, they’ve done the equivalent of jail time. Jail time is still necessary.
Good riddance. Boeing doesn't need any bean counters making their key decisions. If they don't replace him with an engineer, the company will likely never overcome their problems.
Specifically with commercial aircraft manufacturing and quality problem solving executive grade leadership experience for multi-$B corporations with a diverse product portfolio serving international and domestic commercial and government customers and end users.
They need to replace the board and many other executives; just the CEO is a bandaid.
So they get Golden Parachutes while the Flying Public gets a one way ticket to the ground ? 😡🇺🇸
Profits over quility and keeping shareholders happy.
No accountability whatsoever
Too little too late, the Airbus signs should be going up any day.
"Taking action" in these situations usually means 'let's look like we're doing something without actually doing anything'. Hope I'm wrong, but expect not to be.
0:37 So you stepping down is about giving the board notice, not because of your massive failures to maintain safe and reliable aircraft.
How to avoid accountability 101 and remember, we bailed them out already multiple times
No mention of the dead whistle blower?
That's not related to the topic here. You can read about it elsewhere.
how ironic...he's using his parachute. sigh.
No GOLDEN PARACHUTES. Previous CEO's and upper management should also be investigated. Getting Millions in severance is a crime. Money from the board and upper management should go back to the Boeing company to INVEST in ENGINEERING and DESIGN and QUALITY CONTROL.
INVESTIGATE THE ASSASSINATION
It's very nice of him to give a heads-up notice about stepping down at the end of this year. It's not like I got that kind of notice when they fired me for struggling with PTSD/depression/suicide as a combat vet, or because I kept getting called away for military duty. And it is much, much better than the notice Boeing gave passengers and whistleblower(s) alike before all of them went down. It really is a nice gesture...truly. 😑
How much money are they getting as they leave? Nobody cares... You can f-up and f-up and so long as shareholders make money, you get paid. Something needs to change. Any of us little people f-up, we lose our jobs and we don't get millions when we leave.
NBC Executives should be stepping down also for hiring Rona McDaniels!
Maybe hire a replacement that can do the job with the understanding that their product flies people at 32,000ish feet.
Why is there not more coverage on the whistle blowers death????
There hasn't been anything new to report. That happened in Charleston County S. Carolina. Maybe the local news there would have something.
Ah the classic CEO step down just after something bad happens to avoid all responsibility and leave with their golden parachute move. Didn't see that coming right?!
Nothing better than a ceo learning his lesson by taking that astronomical severance pay
When he came to power amid the 737 crash, he implied "The planes wouldn't have crashed if the pilots were American." He said this in the PBS documentary.
Keep hiring people like him & there'll no longer be a Boeing company soon.
Reminds me of the comments who keep blaming these incidents on some elusive “DEI” initiatives instead of corporate greed.
@@monicarenee7949 I agree. DEI started in the past 3 to 4 years, but the 787 quality problems have been known since 2010 when Aljazeera first released a documentary about it.
Wait 2 or 3 more years & we'll see the consequences of DEI.
I just watched the updated 12 March 2024 version of that documentary. I didn't even see Calhoun in it in the parts discussing the MAX crashes. He was not CEO then. CEO Muilenburg did say something like that, although I can't find the statement you give as a quote. Was it in an earlier version of the documentary? Can you please give the version of the documentary and the approximate time stamp?
Edit: I did find Calhoun in the original version, at about 48:30 minutes in. He did suggest something like that, but I didn't find the quote.

Let us know about the severance packages please!
Seems like the culprits are escaping
Maybe Calhoun is the one who put out the hit on John Barnett.
Should be going to prison for hiring the hit on John Barnett.
Going to be challenging with multiple investigations going on
Evading prosecution…that’s all. That whistleblower did not suicide himself. The board needs to go as well.
*it's not about quality in this century. its about how to reduce quality for more money into the higher up's pocket.*
Boeing is looking for a Mexican from a home depot to replace the CEO 😂
Sounds right..5 yrs of lowering quality. Focused on profits not SAFETY. CEO without any engineering experience.
That’s odd. Usually the admiral or the capitan are the last member to leave a sinking ship.
Abandon ship! Cowards first.
Was anybody fired? Oh, heck no. You didn't think anyone would actually be held accountable did you?
He probably wouldn’t change a thing if he had to do it again
Moving to countries with no extradition treaties?
Not before they get their golden parachutes, of course
Oh it’s “I’m old” not “I’m incompetent.”
What a cop out. Executives not taking responsibility for their failures? What’s new.
Oh I see you have a private jet? What kind? “It’s an airbus…”
He should be forced to only fly on 737 MAX’s for the rest of his life.
Those men are in big trouble
Boeing should be shut down immediately
This company have highly intelligent engineers that knows how to run a company like Boeing. There are no excuses for all these accidents. The CEO and his executives made short cuts to line their bank accounts.
The engineers just know how to build airplanes, but the best Boeing engineers retired long ago. I think Boeing has lost too much expertise.
This would have sent a signal right after the door blew out. Now they would need to fire him immediately after he wasn't cooperative in the investigation and couldn't produce the record for the work on the door.
You do realize that it's a seperate company that makes the plane, right? LOL!!! The internet is full of the brightest people.
@@GregLakatosChradmyou do realize the single customer assembly company is separate on paper to limit liability and fudge profit numbers.
@@whickervision742LOL!!! Neither are an LLC. You keep pretending you're smart for youtube.
@@GregLakatosChradm-- No, a separate company does not make the plane. Spirit makes the fuselage structure. Boeing builds the airplane on that fuselage. It is Boeing's responsibility to inspect the fuelage thoroughly at every critical juncture.
@@GH-oi2jfWrong. LOL!!!!
John Barnett did not commit unalive
Resigning instead of taking accountability is 👎
They probably gonna be busy in court after all this.
Wow.. disgusting they are just getting away with this. Not that I'm surprised, just disgusted
He’s gonna get a few million dollars for this too, I’m sure.
I do not think the ceo is the problem. That man was hired to maximize profits and he did his job. The problem is every single person on the company board. They are the ones setting the direction of the company and they hired the ceo in the first place.
Negative, partner. The CEO is the eyes of the company and provides the direction the business focus. Ol'Dave didn't do anything to have the company progress profit wise while keeping the customers and shareholders trust. What a failure and he should be held accountable and there are no do overs.
Come on, it’s not that challenging. You put safety first every time, and don’t just pretend it’s safety first while prioritizing profits, and eventually the culture changes and results will be positive. It’s not complicated.
Executives step down. Normal people go to jail.
Jail please
I bet he got a NICE separation package!!😁👍🏻
Shareholder profits above all else right?!
"step down" should really be "GO TO JAIL."
European here. Dave Calhoun was appointed to solve Boeing's problems (there were many problems before he came in) so I am not sure he caused problems but probably faced a major opposition of the Boeing Establishment. In all probability restauring Boeing to its former glory will take MANY years and cost a lot of money. Probably also that some managers pushed Boeing in the wrong direction (maximize profits and not giving quality control all the attention it needs) are resisting all corrections towards Engineering and Quality that were once Boeing's key objectives. Here, in Europe, we are proud of Airbus but we wish to this great emblematic company that Boeing was a get well soon. Airbus was once David against Goliath and learned that the smallest mistake can cost a company its future (the nothing to lose but win spirit). Greetings from France.
this is executives fault. clean up that company, it is an embarrassment
There are some products that can reasonably be made with shortcuts, cheaper materials, and even less attention to detail; it's wild that Boeing has been consistently trying to push their planes into that category.
Aren’t you going to check all those wheels first?
That is a maintenance issue with the airlines. I think Boeing needs to be held accountable but for the issues they are responsible for. Tires falling off relates to maintenance, collapsed landing gear indicates the pilots exceeded the turn speeds. I am all for accountability but put the blame where it belongs. I worked with aircraft maintenance for 49 years and have a thorough understanding of why mishaps occur.
The ENTIRE BOARD also needs to follow suit….
Stepping down with their golden parachutes....
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, don’t mind the pun…
He should step straight into prison immediately...
This company isn’t Boeing and it hasn’t been for decades. It’s time to either give up the pretense and officially rename yourself as McDonnell Douglas, or move the headquarters back to Seattle to signify that the engineers and manufacturing aren’t the enemy.
If it’s Boeing, I ain’t going.
Command responsibility and accountability.
Nice dress. She is stacked!
Will they expand if the plane decompresses???🤪🤔
The company should be charged. Including those who cut corners for profit.
They will hire another MBA who will work his magic with spreadsheets. Gone are the days of engineers running engineering companies.
Ryanair CEO just said the other day Stan Deal was not fit to be commercial CEO so this is interesting.
Did he say that at the time he was put in the position, or soon after? It doesn't mean much now.
To late too late.
When are these murderers going to go to jail. And maybe they should hire an actual aeronautical engineer as CEO of an aerospace company???
Do mean like former CEO of Boeing Muilenburg, who has a B.S. in aerospace engineering and an M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics?
Smart move, get rid of the penny counters!
They have ruined Mr. Boeing dream of the finest air travel experience in America 😮
The house of cards is starting to tumble
The accountant stepped down and was replaced by another accountant (Stephanie Pope).
Still no one fired from the Executive management board. They all should be fired. A room filled with corruption and greed.
Also why is he waiting his sweet time until 2025? Things have to change NOW at Boeing. RIGHT NOW.
Rumor is: Boeing is eyeing Jet Blue and Spirit airlines executives to fill the vacancies... 😮
That is excellent- you have to change culture- critical industry
AirBus must be happy. Engine failures in flight and not a peep from the news except maybe 1 of them in December
- Stepping Down: Taking a massive severance package and then taking a vacation.
- Fired CEO: Taking a massive severance package and then taking a vacation.
- Fired Normal Person: GFYS, signed Corporate America.
Everyone here: This should happen, that should happen, there needs to be accountability, do not let them leave, they need to face the law...
Boeing: "It does not support schedule."
Throw them in prison. These double standards for the rich gotta stop
