Thank you. I just chose the last type of Mohalk carpet. Polyester but loop and cut pile mix. The cost was about $37 per yard or $3 per sq ft with 8 lb density rebond pad, including all installation/removal labor and furniture moving here in Southern California.
Thank you! After only a few months living in our brand new home and the polyester carpet is already matted down in doorways. Ugh. Should have watched your video to know to upgrade!! Next time!
I beg to differ on the Berber. I had that and the loops lay flat in the high traffic areas. It made those areas always look dirty even when they were cleaned.
The best alternative to high price nylon is a short pile, heavy weight, high twist, continuous filament, stain master. Just make sure your carpet cleaner uses a gentle neutral pH cleaner or your stain guard will wind up on on your lawn.
I need carpet that will stand up to twin 3 yr olds, a messy preteen and a baby 😅 We purchased a house with the horrible looped carpet and my dog keeps getting her nails stuck on it and its a pain in the ass to actually vacuum. The loop also pulls if there is a broken look and it stains so bad.
When you visit your local carpet store and find a sample you like, they will look it up on the computer and tell you how much it costs per square foot.
This was great.Personally still love walking on carpet in comfort zones of my home.Very informative, thanks!!

Thank you for the insight on different types of carpets, I had no idea that there are many different types!!

Not me, I found Berber really holds up. We bought a house with Berber in it and it was fine when we moved 14 years later

For your “exception” carpet at the end. What type of vacuum would you recommend?
Thank you
Good info thank you
Wish you talked about cost difference

Solution dyed polyester is better than most nylon. Nylon is the thing in the past.
What style and color is this carpet?
Wool anyone?
Wool is high end but costly
OR JUST TILE
