I am heartbroken every day when I cannot get a dog. I live in a condominium so I check for older dogs like the Boxer Rescue in Austin and Houston. They are upfront they are low energy dogs because they are old and have heartworms.
Do you know what the life expectancy of a dog with heartworms is and do they have to stay on medication for the rest of their life?

Thank goodness you rescued them in time, with that virus they would never had made it. So cruel how some one just dumped these 2 puppies, just so inhumane. It's always astonishing to see the change in the color of their fur after a good bath. Bless you for rescuing these two bundles of joy. The transformation from sad abandoned strays to puppies who know they are loved and being cared for is day and night.
