    You might want to check their "Perennial" (live at Wacken 2019). It's the last song of the set, they all look knackered, and they do a perfect performance. Their music is intricate and it's hard to tell where they are going to go. Good reaction, too.

    I'm really not being smug or ironic or anything: I _genuinely_ love how there are so many reactions to this song that are shocked but in the end intrigued, fascinated, and impressed. How everyone acknowledges the vocal range of Tatyana and the musical awesomeness of the band. How this whole experience impresses even those that are not usually into metal. It is just SO wholesome!

  • @Duane_Grabert
    @Duane_Grabert Před 3 lety +59

    Ok. Here's the deal with this song. Pisces is the 2 fish sign. There are tons of fish references in the piece. One fish is all about light, peace and love. The other is about darkness, hatred and death. When she's clean singing, that's the light side of the sign. Thr fry screaming is the darkness. Btw, Tatiana is a Pisces herself; March 15th. She's 33.

    • @mercy5004
      @mercy5004 Před 3 lety +7

      Exactly, plus the sign itself is a bit misleading. The symbol most people think of, is the two fish who swim in a yin-yang formation. but the actual symbol )-( is supposed to represent the actual constellation, which is of two fish swimming in opposite directions.
      So its both about balance, and yet opposition.
      Part of why I love this song is that it represents this relationship so well (the discord between the two types of singing, yet harmonized together) and that I'm a Pisces too :).
      Really the name itself should be a big hint for what's to come lol.

    Ah, I see you’ve met and heard Tatiana, the Queen of Growl. Nice reaction! This song was a bipolar display of her vocal capabilities on a song about the duality that she sees in herself and other pisces ♓️ . I personally enjoy their live performance of Who is Going to be the One, which reminds me of Alex Terrible’s stuff much more. The music is not too heavy though, so nothing like Slaughter to Prevail.

    Ann Wilson was the singer with the great voice in Heart. Nancy is the guitar-playing sister.

    Tatiana is ridiculously talented. You simply MUST check out Perennial (Live at Wacken) to fully see how quick the changes can be 👌🏻 And then of course there’s Who Is Gonna Be The One (live) for low growls, Teacher Teacher for more quick changes and interesting ‘rap’ and On The Top for a funky groove...

    Love the analogy of going for gold in shot put & 10,000m - well said!
    ....& also that you mentioned how tight they are- all 4 of them show technical excellence in composition & performance. Great job. :)

    Interesting point: Tati said in an interview that in times when she had problems with her voice it is easier for her to use the extreme than high pitch clear voice parts. Belonging to the health of using this extreme screamo: they made around 200 gigs per year before corona and no damage around... 😉😉😁

    I love seeing vocal coaches react to any extreme form of metal vocals not just for the shock factor (which is always funny), but because they actually approach it with an open mind and explain stuff we have no idea is even happening with the vocals

    I'm glad you checked it out + enjoyed!! Jinjer are a great band, check out their songs "Perennial (live at Wacken 2019)" + "Who is Gonna be the One (official live version)"!
    Also check out the Canadian band Spiritbox, if you haven't heard them already! They're from Vancouver Island! Vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Michael Stringer are a husband + wife duo, along with bass player Bill Crooks + a drummer named Zev Rose. Check out their songs "Blessed Be" + "Rule of Nines"! They released a track called "Holy Roller" at the beginning of July you might want to react to as well! In the words of Tatiana (vocalist of Jinjer): "...Spiritbox is bomb!"
    👍👍👍

      @@BillyGollnerMusic Also should mention this about Spiritbox: they have a trilogy of songs called "The Mara Effect" which they perform live in-studio at Silverside Sound. 3 songs + 1 interlude (16 minutes total). Outstandingly atmospheric. I'd recommend reacting to it when/if you find enough time in your day!
      I enjoy the content 👍👍👍
