  • Check out how to make this TRADITIONAL Romanian APPLE BRANDY which is also called ȚUiCĂ DE MERE. Located in Bucovina, Romania, GRANDMA makes this exquisite homemade alcoholic beverage every late AUTUMN for more than 50 years. Sit back and relax while watching this traditional way of transforming fruits into HOMEMADE SPIRIT.
    HOMEMADE SPIRITS are a big part of EASTERN EUROPEAN drinking culture and represent an efficient way of using FRUITS such as APPLES, PEARS or PLUMS which are overripe through fermentation and distillation. GRANDMA has developed her own TIPS and TRICKS over the past decades in order to achieve the best POTENT ROMANIAN VILLAGE STYLE SPIRIT.

    I was in Bucavina Romania where my father was born tracing my roots and drank their tunica made with prunes. Quite a party with barbecued lamb and violins 🎻 😋

    How does it taste? Sweet or tart? Is it used as a mix for other drinks? Was she measuring the temperature or something else? So many questions!

    • @rawmaniacountrylifevlogs
      @rawmaniacountrylifevlogs  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello Anne :) Thank you for your questions. Because it has no added sugar, Tuica is nothing close to sweet o tart. You can think of Tuica as a Vodka made from fruits, in this case apples. In most cases, only a shot-sized amount is served, and it is generally sipped. Grandma was measuring the temperature because she distilled twice. I hope this answers are helping you. :)
