Located in Bucovina, Romania, GRANDMA makes this exquisite homemade alcoholic beverage every late AUTUMN for more than 50 years. Sit back and relax while watching this traditional way of transforming fruits into HOMEMADE SPIRIT.
HOMEMADE SPIRITS are a big part of EASTERN EUROPEAN drinking culture and represent an efficient way of using FRUITS such as APPLES, PEARS or PLUMS which are overripe through fermentation and distillation. GRANDMA has developed her own TIPS and TRICKS over the past decades in order to achieve the best POTENT ROMANIAN VILLAGE STYLE SPIRIT.
If you want to make your own ȚUiCĂ, you will need a DISTILLATION KIT and LOTS OF FERMENTED FRUITS.
This type of homemade alcoholic beverage is intended exclusively for personal consumption. In the rural part of Romania it is very common for people to prepare their own spirits from apples, pears or plums.

Where is she at? What village? Looks like she sells also , I would love to come and buy some and taste. ❤
I was in Bucavina Romania where my father was born tracing my roots and drank their tunica made with prunes. Quite a party with barbecued lamb and violins 🎻 😋
It was 1969!!
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Romania.
Cheers, grandma! We love you!
Outstanding!!! This is truly an amazing video! I know a lil bout makin likker. But that is REAL Old School Science right there!! I would kill for a jar of that brandy. Those lil sour apples....we call them crab apples make the best brandy around here but doing it her way is simply an art! And an art she is good at btw
This is so delicious why can't it be sold overseas

Ce cazan este de inox alimentar???
Was it proofed down to about 40 proof?
Este otravă dacă o fierbi în saci de rafie
How does it taste? Sweet or tart? Is it used as a mix for other drinks? Was she measuring the temperature or something else? So many questions!
Hello Anne :) Thank you for your questions. Because it has no added sugar, Tuica is nothing close to sweet o tart. You can think of Tuica as a Vodka made from fruits, in this case apples. In most cases, only a shot-sized amount is served, and it is generally sipped. Grandma was measuring the temperature because she distilled twice. I hope this answers are helping you. :)
Was she measuring temperature or the proof? Looks like an alcohol hydrometer the way she let it float.
He added 10 more degrees from those plastic bags... :))
Brakuje tylko informacji ile procent wyszło ;)
50% alkoholu według objętości. Dziękuję za Twój komentarz :)
If she had running water for her condenser she'd probably get a lot more out of her wash
Is it an apple taste?
Love the videos but they are in dire need of mentioning each and every ingredient and instruction. Also,, name of things being used. Purpose people watch is to leafn! Needs more explanation in allll your videos please!
Noted
Grandma is a top notch distiller...just wish she didn't use the plastic sacks in the boiler while running the batch. Gotta get her some kind of cloth bags.

Why boil it inside plastic bags? Surly that can't be good 🧐
Please respond with a good answer.
Să fierbi sacul de stafie e adevărată prostie. Ce nenorociri ies la fierbere din plastic?
Folosește sac ptr că merele se lipesc de fund și se ia f greu
Cloudiness = heads and tails. Hello, headache!
