  • Vulci was one among twelve important Etruscan cities. In the 4th c. BCE it had a population of about 40 thousand. It was conquered by the Romans in 280 BCE and subsequently rebuilt. Today it has all but disappeared under several metres of soil. However, recent archaeological work has uncovered many artifacts to support that this was once a great ancient city. It was a poplular source of ancient greek pottery in the 19th c. In this film we also visit the famous François Tomb from the 4th c. BCE.
