      @@megasocky Put the pot with your plant on a bigger Saucer than you normally would. Always have water in the saucer so your soil never dries out. They like their feet to be wet ;) It must be distilled or rain water. And now you will always see when it needs to be watered. If you have a sunny place on the windowsill for your carnivorous plant, you shouldn't have any problems.

Grows really fast too!

    I would suggest that a easy plant that looks super rare and cool but really isn't rare and is crazyyyyy easy to look after is Zamioculcas or ZZ plant (I say ZiZi but I think that's because I'm English not American- off topic) it is basically impossible to kill in my experience! I barely water it, have it in basic normal room light, no humidity control at all but I would say my house is quite warm and humid. You can easily buy them in a garden centre so don't worry about shipping

    Wow, awesome video, I truly love when you do these kinds of videos. Some of my wish list plants are on the rare side, and that's good to know how hard some of them are to grow. I am currently growing from seed the Monstera Deliciosa Variegata, they literally took a month to sprout, and they are now about an inch tall, not all the seeds sprouted at once, I have them in various stages of growth, and that's okay it's just exciting to see them growing. Thank you Kaylee, this was a great video that I really enjoyed.

I even have it potted in a planter with no drainage hole (I know, I'm a bad plant mom, but it was too cute not to use) and it's not fussy at all about it. I have a question about buying plants online. If a plant arrives semi-barerooted in some sphagnum or in a bit of potting mix in a bag, how quickly should it be potted up? I'm wary of keeping it that way too long, but I usually like to give my plants at least a week or two in my home to acclimatize before repotting so I don't traumatize the heck out of them.

    I’ve noticed that most, if not all, of your plants are in pots inside of other pots. I typically just plant mine into one and leave it. Is there a reason you keep yours in nursery-esque pots inside of your decorative ones?

    • @luluamu
      @luluamu Před 4 lety +1

      I keep the plants in the plastic pot because they have drainage holes, the decorative pots don't. I water my plants in the sink or in the shower and let the water finish dripping through the nursery pot before I put it pack into the decorative pot. If I water when they are in their decorative pot (which I sometimes do), they always end up standing in water, risking it of rotting. I've murdered plants by doing this, so I try to avoid it. But if you're able to water them correctly straight into the decorative pot, well done!
      But this is why I do so, I can't speak for anyone else😅

    • @carterhoutman7353
      @carterhoutman7353 Před 4 lety

      luluamu that makes sense! Almost all of my plants are in terra cotta on saucers, so it’s not an issue for them. Good tip for ceramic pots though! I’ll keep it in mind!

    Why do sellers remove the leaves? I bought a albo single node rooted cutting for, I’d rather not say how much. I knew this before I bought it but I decided to take the plunge. Shipping was very stressful for the plant and root system which was massive had mostly died back leaving only a couple primary roots and like one or two healthy secondary roots. Now with the leaf gone and the small amount of green on the node i feel the plant has been significantly hindered photosynthesizing and developing a new root system. What’s the reason to remove the leaf? Is there something I can do to give the cutting the best chance for survival when basically all I got is a two inch bit of stem and a few roots?

    Hey Kaylee, awesome video! Where did you find info that Mcdowell and Pastazanum are not the same? Struggling with this one

      I have seen places say Mcdowell is the old name for pastazanum or that Mcdowell is a cross between a pastazanum and a gloriosum. If it is indeed a cross I feel like it didn't take much from gloriosum at all, or there's mislabeling going on where pastazanum are labeled Mcdowell, simply cause it is a simpler name and lots of places would suggest its the same plant?
