WOW! Fantastic comparison! I actually like both mics, and they're more tonally separated than I was expecting. I'm usually a sucker for brighter mics, but only recently started appreciating darker tones. (I think I may have to save pennies up for a Warbler though)

Finally got around to modding a NT1a with a K87 capsule! Here's our first vocal recording with it (plugged into a UA 610 solo preamp... no other EQ) >> czcams.com/video/38UDI0U0x2k/video.html

Like the NTA1 Mod (U47). Sounds smoother than the Warbler MK1. The Warbler has some kind of distortion or more saturation, which more rough.

Definitely more saturated, but i don't mind the fizz too much. There's the odd frequency that sounds off on my voice with the U47 (to my ears) as if talking into a jam jar - but i only hear it every now and then. I think for some female voices it could be a fantastic option.

Welcome back Dark! Listening on my AKG 702s, I /think/ the modded NT1A is the peakier of the two.
Generally, I find I tend to like the Warblers best on voicing 2 rather than voicing 1. Maybe it's down to the differences between my harder toned and slightly airier voice and your darker voice.

I’ll need to give v2 a shot, never thought to try that for this, I do like the warblers as well
