I remember watching these videos as a young kid, as soon as they came out from very early on. Super nostalgic watching now, being a kid was so much fun.
I remember watching these videos when I was pretty young. Had o have been like 10 at least. I decided to go back and watch some stuff because I ended up growing into the aspirations of being a film maker, and I wanted a nostalgia kick. I'm just looking at these videos and how they're produced and the quality and love and effort that went into them and reminiscing on the good ole days of CZcams. I know that's such a cheesy thing to say but it's the truth. I don't have any issue with Fortnite or CoD vids or anything it's just so saturated with them that unique stuff like Indy Mogul type channels are hard to come by now. I miss these guys. I remember the first host is who was on when I started watching, cant remember his name though. I think it was Jeff or something? Idk I'll find it here in a bit with some more searching Lol.
Same here man, I actually discovered these guys on itunes videos when I was around 10ish as well, and that led me into their youtube scene. Incredible to see them grown so much now
by the way, 2 years later, have an answer for the name question
*Zack*
I didn't even notice that this video is 10 years old lol
Hell yeah man
I'm in the same boat. Just trying to find my groove in the industry. More than once I go back to this and Nuka Break to remind me of where I got the inspiration to pursue film in the first place.
"Be as safe as you are creative"
So you're telling me not to be safe?
Are you telling me to be dangerous?
***** So that would mean I have no safety? Cool!
fuck yeah!!!, human torch cosplay, here i go!
Edwardo Franco lol
Be dangerously safe.
same lol
*cries in corner*
Damn. Its really been 7 years😭
10 now
I am impressed. Looks totally awesome. You're instructions are detailed enough. And it looks like something I could do at home. Perfect.
This video just entered my mind out of nowhere. Just as i remember wanting to make this as a kid it pops up in my recommendations. Im being watched and its not that bad tbh.
Dude same, idk if it's cuz I just fired up the PS3 and put in Metal gear solid 4 or what but this video popped in my head, been a long time, I remember watching it like 10 years ago
Same for me except I hope to finally utilize this for a costume I’m making
You're that guy from the Fallout film Nuka Break.
+Sephiroth Light No fucking really?
i just realised it was twig too!!
0:19 legend intro😃
You need to make some Imperial Guard armor. It looks almost as good as the Space Marine armor...
BRUHHH this was a really simplified way of the steps! i loved it! thank you soooo much!
dude, 2021 and this is still awesome. gonna give it a shot this week! Thanks!
Used these techniques for most of the costumes on my film project. I really can't thank you guys enough for making this tutorial!
it annoys me they all say it's cheap but never add in that some people don't own heat guns or Drexel tools
they actually factored in the price of the heat gun this time around, and when it comes to the rotary tool and soldering iron you could ask your friends and family or buy them once and have them for any project.
They're not that expensive. I buy tools used all the time for less that $10 apiece.
helpful tip : when hot glueing on the rough side. always sand it smooth. that way the glue will hold better. contact cement also works great. plasty dip is great to coat it before painting.
I remember watching these videos back when they came out, inspired me to start working on cosplay and going to conventions.
Dude, your video helped me a lot! I was looking for inspirations and tutorials to create my sci-fi armor and you answered all my questions in just 6 minutes. You are amazing, brother!
thnx so much guys I've been wanting a way to create the veteran ranger armor from fallout and this is the most cheap way to make it.
Did you ever make your armor ?
Im begging you please show a second vid on how to make the shoulder pads and maybe even a helmet...mostly because I suck at making my own things without tutorials.
***** it did! well that sucks! D:
*****
Months, more like years!!
The helmet is fairly simple. Heat the foam up and shape it to your face... That's about it
Ya I agree! Post also a video on the arm guards
JerbearTheCarebear I know this is extremely late, but if you search up Evil Ted, his foamworking tutorials are FANTASTIC
My kid loves this idea, and I have almost all the materials and tools already at hand. I love this tutorial, thank you for sharing and doing such a good job putting the video together.
I finally finished my set of armor today. I am really proud of it. It turned out way better than I expected. Thanks IndyMogul.
Hey you're the guy from Nuka Break!
NowThat'sPeng Thanks, it was driving me nuts trying to figure out who he was.
NowThat'sPeng I knew it!!
Lol, he was hosting this show before nuka break I think.
Nuka break was fucking awesome.
How do you do the templates. All I need is the back template, and I'm good to go
Great vid! Love the fact the that this is completely unbiased to a single game and can be used on almost all cosplay occasions!
this really helped with my vayne cosplay! I also like how you made a difficulty level and specific price range, so i went in prepared when making my stuff. Even though the armor pieces i made were small, this still helped alot via detailing.
“As safe as I’m creative.”...I will not survive this build
I guess you could apply this technique to samurai armor? Darth Vader suit? Batman suit?
Yes with some skill and time, you could
Amazing! Loved it! Can't wait to start!
One of the videos that got me into foam crafting and started my business. I miss y'all
What's your business
RaaR Retro special effects and prop making.
Hi your videos are fantastic.. My grandson who's 5 loves watching how you make stuff...he is really into the robot "Atom' from the movie Reel Steel
Please could you give us some tips on how we could do His Head And body
Please.
Sadly they don't make videos anymore
They should do a diy fallout new vegas ncr ranger armor
13 years already?! It feels like yesterday watching this videos for the very First time.
I still comeback to the video after all these years and still find this superhelpful
That would make great airsoft armor
It's just made out of foam, the pellets would probably indent or got pretty deep into the foam
Yeah but all the battle damage may look badass :P
yih
Sage I'm gonna do a punisher body armor then I'm gonna fiberglass coat it then spray it again also if you seal the foam first with plastidip and that can take some damage
Four inch PVC pipe cut on one side and heated to 375° so it becomes pliable makes a 14 inch wide plate that can be molded in to any shape you want. Be careful of the fumes it puts off. I use a heat gun outside to avoid that then a lil sand paper and some krylon paint. That's how I made mine
Dose anybody think the spine pice looks like the dead space spine pice
No not really, but dead space made me consider making a suit of some sort as did metalgearsolid4
Being back Indy Mogul!!!
Dude I so stumbled across your video and let me tell you I'm hooked great tutorial and explanation on how to DIY. Keep up the awesome work!
did yal know Zack works at loot crate now?
I want to make a armor that is cool looking but can stand against bbs I know it's not needed but armor is expensive
Yep
i ordered some eva foam from amazon and i don't see the problem,
i made some armor and it takes the bbs no problem .
if you get some holes to it , it just makes it look damaged
what i did is , after the match was over and i got home i just used some spray paint and gloves to make the bb holes look like bullet holes
but its easy to repair
just use some silicone to fill up the holes
.. but all and all my build cost about 20 euros
dunno how much its in dollars but shouldn't be much
Omg skull hunter u were on that halo vs cod video comments
yep eva foam is expensive for me just 4 x 4 and 4 matts are like 49 to 50 $
i know this is long ago but i know a few places,
try looking through lowes, home depo, that sales eva rolls pretty cheap probably less than 20 so my friends say
or do what i do and go to Harbor Freight and get about 4 mats for 5$ and thats more than enough to make a chest armor 2 rounds of em and you can make a full top armor and maybe your legs depending on details and decord
if your in the US i dont know else were if not sorry :(
I've been wanting to create armor and this was a fantastic post. I will do this myself but more importantly I will be going through all your videos becuase you did a great job showing how to do something reasonably price so thanks again.
Been looking for this video for a couple of days now.
Plan to use this technique to make my truck look armoured.
Does this work with airsoft. I mean does it protect
It's mostly for filmmaking. But it could work.
that was my first idea too :)
Mine too! :D
Mine too! :D
Look up the "Trojan armor" Imagine using a civ version of that.
Why did this Chanel die
+Fred Rc the vlog guy youtube stopped funding them after they stopped the BFX show
+Uber Animations Why did they even have to do that?
Dinoman217 they didnt go into detail about it but they had to stop cause youtube stopped funding them
Uber Animations But you said that was after BFX stopped
Dinoman217 bfx stopped cause of youtube nolonger funding the show
Thanks for making this. Great effort!
Thanks for sharing. This is really going to help my project. I am making a custom cover for my prosthetic leg with foam and leds.
I'm gonna try to utilize this to make a Kamen Rider Kiva cosplay. :D
Modified this to make a space suite, AWESOME!
very cool thx guys totally going to do this method very easy looking KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!
I like the way you speeded up the timeon the building. It can get boring watching someone cut upform and stuff. The armour is very cool!
Good tutorial! Very easy and helpful. Thanks
great work, nicely done!
I was so happy once I saw this video, I'm going to try to make something with these tips this weekend.
pretty nice for a quick cheep build. I like that you used a soldering iron with a knife blade tip that was pretty cool. Looks like it makes it much easier to cut then using a carpet knife.
WOW! Great/simple strait forward w/o all the mindless droning. Good job.
as a kid this was always my number 1 go to channel after school
Great job! I use PVC sheeting for most of my armor builds. Keep up the good work!
Dude your armor was amazing! It honestly looked like something from a real professional movie. You're absolutely talented when it comes to art and design. I hope you make lot's more videos in the future, I love your videos, and you're awesome.
Man I wish I seen this video before I bought thinner foam and began working on my cosplay armor... Going to start from scratch now... Awesome tutorial.
i made one of these for this up coming Halloween and its freaking awesome thx you guys for helping me
This is a great idea for a cheap costume. Keep the ideas coming.
Great build. I have been wanting to make one of these for a while but I never could find something for my budget, I think I can handle this though. Can't wait to give it a try.
Looks way more hi tec than just painted foam! Well done. Loving the "Pulse Rifle" like gun on the final photo too hehe
This is the first one I've watced and you did a rad job. I'd like to see a more detailed build video on either the arm piece at the end or even a different method for robot arms in general.
Thnx for this armor vid! My friend and i are going paintballing and he suggested armor so i showed him this video. two weeks and we will be in combat sporting this kind of armor!
This is freaking inspiring. Why can't I find people like you guys live in my area to do stuff?
Love this!! Thank you!!
That's really cool man. I rarely log into youtube to to kudos someone (like half a dozen times ever), but very cool, thumbs up!
thank you for the tutorial ,I`ve build my own one and it looks good. THANK YOU!!!
Thanks, this information will be really helpful when building my Imperial Guardsman armour.
this is awesome! im going to try this asap!
Great job looks so cool
The Design is way ahead of its time.
Cheers bud! So simple.
I miss this series. This one was my favorite episode.
Great and valuable video.

Bro, this guy's video is the reason I began getting into cosplay! Super nostalgic as always!
Love your tutorial! great ideas! I'm making a short film and this stuff is really going to come in handy! I subscribed to your channel looking forward to new ideas from you. thanks again and keep up the great work!
Radical man... Subscribed!
WOW ,I'm going to make a Mass effect armor!! I've been trying to find an easy technique to do it a long time now (I've seen this technique before but I thought I was too hard for me ) tnxx
NIce thanks you for that one because it just gave me the platform for my sifi look!
Very interesting. Good work.
great work man you are a master.
Thanks for the help man
this is so cool thank you for tge idea. ive been workin on mine and taking a ton more time and working onnarmor from halo reach
Epic. Now my dreams of so many different types of armor can come true! And for cheap too!
ive heard about the heat gun method and i always thought it would be horrible and painful to do since ive never done anything like this before and i was thinking about having a go but it actually looks easier than i thought, also the armour looks ace!
GREAT JOB!!!
Outstanding!
If you use a streak metal cover on foam armor, you can be able to twist it around easier and you can give it a scrapy/rusty look that is easy to paint over. I use this on making heavy weapons for costumes, but you can use it on robotic armour...
This was the best show on CZcams
That was amazing! Great pieces and they actually look do-able by ordinary people.
Awesome video.Thanks
nicely done.
good idea with the knife :D
The best tutorial on web! ;)
Awesome! Gave me some good ideas for Halloween!!! 👍🏼😎
Pretty freaking amazing buddy, you rock!
Awesome idea!
