Very difficult to play against a short pip player when you play with long pip. Flat hits from short pip that are blocked by long pips do not generate a reversing effect so short pip players can continue attacking with no difficulty. That is my experience as long pip player when playing against short pip players.

As a long pips player vs short pips you get only once a chance when the short pips player serves underspin. That is the only moment you can attack with long pips and pray you get your point.

when playing against Long pip,1) keep your cool all the time, i.e keep focusing on the ball. 2) Your top spin : Angle must be a bit more than normal say about 70°, normal angle for a good Top Spin is about 45°. 3) Do not serve fast, medium speed is good and to the body of player specially if your Vs Tall player, short play serve to the corner = sides. Eagles Eye is the main thing here and not losing your cool.

I used watch shan's match in 2003,at that time she is one of the best woman player in china,she is very good at serve and control, even zhang yining could not control better than her.

this is the beauty of table tennis, long pips may be very well again looper but cannot hanle short pips flat. I am longpips playerwith 2300+ usatt rating
