- Hey everyone! Miracles do happen, and I believe I’m going to get this video up the first day of the new OTCAS cycle! (:
So as promised, this video is about writing your OT/Grad school personal statement. These are just the things I considered when writing my own statement that I believe ultimately made me successful!
Everyone’s personal statement varies so what worked for me may not have been what worked for another accepted candidate.
But nonetheless if you find yourself as an applicant who’s looking for some advice, I’m here to help and share MY experience.
Goodluck Everyone! (:

LOVE this video. I didn’t get in my first try so I’m trying to fix up my personal statement and this helped a lot!
Awesome, I'm so glad it was able to help! (:
Thank for your help ! Is this the same personal statement you wrote to OTCAS ? Or was it to a specific OT
program ?
Another question, what if do not have professional experience like a job as a rehab tech or a teacher? What are some other options I could include to talk about my professional background?
Hello, your video is very helpful! I am currently applying to OT school and I would like to know what is the maximum amount of pages and words for the OTCAS personal statement? I'll appreciate the help. Thanks.

So then it is okay to talk about what setting/population one wants to work in after OT school?
absolutely!
How long do you recommend the personal statement should be?
My personal statement was a page long 😊 My suggestion is to stick with quality over quantity of pages! Hope this helps!
Hello! How did you start your introduction off in the personal statement? Did you start it off as "My name is ..."? My last question, is how do you strongly end this personal statement? How would you wrap all of this up as a whole to stand out? Thank you so much for this helpful video!
My introduction started off with my initial experience that drew me into OT. It read something to the effect of “My interest in occupational therapy started when....” I didn’t necessarily go into depth in the introduction but just gave the reader an idea of what I’d be elaborating on later.
I wrapped my personal statement up by basically summarizing all of the reasons that led me to OT , what I plan to achieve as an OT, and why I was a good pick. 😊
Hope this helps!
