  • Four songs, of the hundreds, recorded by the very popular British singer Vince Hill, who sadly died recently, aged eighty-nine. These songs are "This Nearly Was Mine", from the film "South Pacific", "The Sound of Music", from the film of the same name, "Edelweiss", from the "Sound of Music" and "Look Around (And You'll Find Me There), from the film "Love Story". "Edelweiss" was, of course, Vince's greatest hit and became his theme song. I first became aware of him in the early 1960s when I was working in a television manufacturing plant and the BBC Light programme show, "Parade of the Pops" was broadcast over the factory loudspeakers - and I've been a fan ever since! I even used a Vince Hill CD, as a test CD, when I later worked as a test engineer for an audio manufacturing company, as his voice was so easy to listen to. Happy memories!
