- These Footballers Could Play At AFCON-2024 😱😳🤯
So, the African Cup of Nations 2024 has begun!
The Inside Football channel offers you a closer look at the other side of the tournament, giving you the footballers who had every chance to play for African countries, but who eventually chose to represent other teams! Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe... Stop-stop-stop! We’ll get to them later!
In the meantime, leave us a like so that as many football fans as possible can get to know very interesting info! With that out of the way, let's get started! Let's get into it!
Cape Verde
Cape Verde is one of the outsiders of the tournament for obvious reasons: the team doesn’t have a single star to brag about, the highest price tag on Transfermarkt has the 22-year-old Toulouse centre-back Logan Costa - have you heard about this guy? Maybe some of you did, but the average football fan most likely is hearing his name for the first time.
Chances of this picturesque country would have been perceived much differently if only fate made things the other way, the way in which one particular guy would represent the Blues Sharks.. HIS MAJESTY... CRISTIANO RONALDO! The matter is that Ronaldo's paternal great-grandmother is a native of Cape Verde. Isabel Rosa lived on the island of Sao Vicente [the second most populous in the country], though at the age of 16 she moved to Madeira, where Cristiano was eventually born. In 2015, journalist Guillem Balagué published Ronaldo’s biography, where he suggested that African roots explain his muscular strength.
Who knows how Cristiano's career would have turned out if he had been born in Cape Verde, but such a talent couldn’t help but to reveal itself in football somehow, don’t you agree? Anyway, we would love to watch Ronaldo performing at this African Cup campaign and how he would lead Cape Verde to triumph! Press the like button if you'd like to see it too!
Cameroon
The national team of Cameroon is usually among favourites to capture the African Cup of Nations trophy, but this year it doesn’t have a top squad capable of fighting for victory in the tournament - in the prediction made by the Opta analytical center, Rigober Song's team is ranked only seventh... The main stars of the current roster are Onana and Anguissa. Very, very doubtful pick to win the whole thing...
Imagine how much higher would they be in the ranking if the decision to play for Cameroon was made by elite players like... KYLIAN MBAPPE and AURELIEN TCHOUAMENI. And there were also options with Youssoufa MOUKOKO and Samuel Umtiti. Okay, let's be honest - the 2018 world champion Umtiti, who was born in the capital of Cameroon, Yaoundé, hasn’t been much of a top player for quite a while. The other three candidates, on the other hand, would bring a lot of quality to the Indomitable Lions: 19-year-old Moukoko, also born in Yaounde, is considered one of the most promising strikers in Europe's top football, playing for Borussia Dortmund and Germany.
Tchouameni is a top star who plays for Real Madrid and France, he was born in the French town of Rouen. Why is he associated with Cameroon? You see, his father is… that’s right… Cameroonian! "Cameroon is a part of me. I have always supported this country and the national team," Aurelien claimed.
Mbappe is definitely the main star on this potential Cameroon internationals list. Kylian's father, Wilfried, was born in the city of Douala, Cameroon. The star forward of the French national team and Paris Saint-Germain doesn’t forget his roots and went on a 3-day tour of Cameroon last summer. "I'm so happy to be here," Kylian declared upon arriving at his kind's native harbour.
How happy all Cameroonians would be if prime Umtiti, Moukoko, Tchouameni and... Kylian Mbappe all were a part of their national team!
Algeria
Next up we have Algeria, the two time AFCON champion! This is indeed a strong and balanced squad, rightly included in the TOP-4 tournament favourites. The main stars of the Greens are known to many - they are Riyad Mahrez, Bennacer, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Houssem Aouar and others. However, there’s a guy who could have become the main man of this roster... KARIM BENZEMA!
Benzema is of Algerian descent and his parents are both originally from Algeria. Despite that, Karim was born in the city of Lyon, France, where he first made his name known by the entire football world, and the French football federation quickly took the prospect to the youth and national teams. Now that’s actually sad! We'd love to see a Mahrez-Benzema duo shining in 'Les Fennecs'!
Nigeria
Alright, we think Nigeria wouldn’t mind such big names as Jamal Musiala or Bukayo Saka, or even prime Dele Alli in its ranks, don’t you agree? All these famous footballers had the opportunity to play for the Super Eagles: both midfielders from Bayern and Everton have a Nigerian father, while the Arsenal winger was born into a family of Nigerian emigrants. - Sport
Bro you are exposing France Whole squad making these types of videos 😂
Even players like Giroud, Hernandez brothers and Greizmann are not French. I think only Rabiot and Pavard are French 😂
@@DonR-zb2cm bro why are you talking like that , stop 🛑 don't expose them anymore 🤣🤣
Even Raymond Kopa is not french (he was polish), even Platini is not french (he was Italian). For sure 50% of the french population is not french ethnic but from immigration since 1850. But what you can be sure is that 99% of these players are born and bread and trained in France
For those who do not know Raymond Kopa, he was the ballon d'or of 1958 and played for Real Madrid. He was of polish descent but like current french squad he was born and bread in France and therefore french
Michel Platini won 3 Times the ballon d'or. He was of Italian descent but born and bread in France. He tried to play for Italy but they refused him. He is the GOAT of french football with Zidane
CR7 would of been on smoke with this current Cape Verde team
AFCON has the potential to be a major cup if all its players came to play.
They don't need to come back.
CR7 at AFCON would be crazy lol
Nah play for Cape Verde would be crazy can’t even believe this story but I wish he was Cape Verdean tho
Nothing is crazy there
Bro with the talents of African roots, An African country would've won the worldcup.
I have no doubt one African team will soon win the world cup. Even more knowing that a lot of the west African teams are made of french born and bread and trained players who are top notch but there is too much competition for the French team so they chose the team of their parents. Take for exemple Aubameyang who played for arsenal and Barcelona...he is born and bread in France but not good enough for French team so he chose to play for Gabon but he has never lived or trained in Gabon...Another exemple is Drogba who was born in ivory coast but moved to France has a young child. So Drogba was bread and trained in France all his life and did not train or live in ivory coast and he still goes to play for ivory coast while it is France who trained him since he was a young child.
@@michaelmatisse2808 it's not easy but it's doable.
Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 won 2 afcon and you forgot to mention Nathan ake of Man City , moise kean Juventus, Wilfried Gnonto leeds, fofana of Monaco and Jonathan tah of Leverkusen

Also Rasford could have played for Ghana... Search on it.
Zidane = Algeria, imagin if he was in his prime playing for algeria
I'm learning about Cristiano Ronaldo's African roots for the first time. No wonder they hating on him so much and are trying they're very best to ridicule his greatness by constantly painting a terrible picture of him, and repeatedly giving underserved awards to their pet. No wonder I also noticed something clearly pushes Cristiano towards black people. I always noticed this without even knowing the reason why. I thought maybe he just loves black people, I didn't know he's actually linked to them.
Viva a CAN,Viva o futebol Africano.
You need to be blocked from youtube. I cannot believe you wrote what you wrote lol 😏😏😏😏
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are not right fam
@anildosilvestremedina5551 estás equivocado. A história não é essa.
Também sou caboverdiano.
@@kapajita9 What about what I said is not right? The rigged awards or Cristiano Ronaldo's affinity with Africans through his great grandmother, and that being the reason why he's being hated? Tell me. Let's discus, since you don't agree with my claims.

That is not true, the previous generation of french footballers lead by Platini in the 80ies and the generation of Raymond Kopa in the 60ies was very good. In the 80ies was the Italian immigration who made the French team, in the 60ies it was the polish immigration who made the French team.
Untill recently, football was seen as a "peasant" sport for the Poor's and the ethnic french people despised it. This is why if you check the historic french teams you will see that they are mainly made of children of immigrants. The team in the 60ies was mainly of polish descent, the team of the 80ies was mainly of Italian descent. The team of 2000 is mainly African and this is because the most recent immigration to France is from Africa. Also this means that the Italian and polish migrants are not poor anymore and have gone into well off middle class status otherwise you would see them in the French team with other poor labor class.
Kenya players
Dont forget Africa won worldcup in 1998 via france

Why Messi from Mauritania
Ronaldo couldn't play for Cape Verde. Fifa rules state that either you're born there, or one of your parents, or grandparents. None of Ronaldo's immediate family were born in Cape Verde. His great-grandmother was, but that's not enough in the eyes of FIFA.
Ronaldo father was a migrant to Portugal
Nice video, but you forgot adding ALABA in REAL MADRID to Nigeria team
Ronaldo the Brazilian? If you are talking about Cristiano Ronaldo you are wrong he was born in Madeira and both parents born in Madeira. The mother of his father was from Cape Verde islands which at the time was part of Portugal and she had a Portuguese passport (the islands of Azores, cape verde and madeira were all Portuguese citizens and only cape Verde became independent in 1975).
Get other stuff to post if you don't have go and sleep!! I can't even give you my like...
Cr7 not cape verdean he is full blooded Portuguese 😂 he only have one great great mother that’s Cape Verdean that doesn’t make him Cape Verdean when the rest of his roots is Portuguese
We donʼt need him. Much respect towards Cristiano Ronaldo but most Cape-Verdeans would be prouder in having Henrik Larsson, for instance.
It would be a waste to have Cristiano play for tiny cape verdean team. It would be like the great George whea who played for Liberia, it was a waste for his talent (but he proudly represented his country).
His grandmother is Portuguese 💀 Portuguese ruled Cape Verde 💀 But this channel always lie about CR7 💀 They're Scamessi allies 💀
There is no native Cap Verdean!!
Wtf you talking about?
He means that the islands were uninhabited in 1460 when Portugal "discovered" it and then it was populated by Portuguese people and Senegambian people leading to a mixed creole population (the first creole nation in the world started in 1460).
So native in the sense of the native Americans of the USA does not apply to cape Verde.
@@michaelmatisse2808 you're wrong
yes there is. its called Badiu people.
@@AfricanMaverick badiu people are brought because of slavery to the islands ( wasn’t there nobody). Badiu mostly , Genetik , are from guineas , Senegal area .
Mbappe is from Nigeria dont steal our player😂.He has a Nigerian father.
His father is Cameroonian
Father from Cameroon and mother from Algeria so he could choose Algeria and let both of you empty handed😅
@@michaelmatisse2808Mbappe is cameroonian. You are of your father's seed.
