- I flew to Pennsylvania to help The Bearded Mechanic with his custom CX500 adventure build! After seeing my recent CX500 adventure build online, Craig decided to use it as inspiration for his own build. In order to make progress on the project he called me up to come help for a couple days and knock some work out. This was such a fun experience and I am very grateful for the moto community who helped push for this to happen.

Garbage content
My 2 favorite bike builders collaborating on the same bike! AND it’s one of my favorite bikes. What a country!!
🤘🤘
Ha! Wasn't expecting this colab. This made my day.
Heck yeah!
I watched this video, and that's how I found your channel. You were funny and a nice guy a bit like Craig. i love people with knowledge who put a smile on my face, plus i love motorcycles 👍🏾🙏🏽
Welcome! I appreciate you giving the video a shot!
great collaboration good to see two content creators help each other in a genuine manner, cant wait to see the finished product.
Yeah it was a great time for both of us
You work well together and really pushed this project along.
🙏🙏
So glad this collab happened. Been a huge fan of Craig/Dan/Greg fan for a while, and happy to have found your channel!
🤘🤘
Simple green and aluminum sounds fun! My wife is going to try some sculpture now.
😂
You two make a good pair.
Love the collab. You guys are balancing out each other's traits so well. You're like reasonable, responsible, considerate, accurate, reliable, nice and likeable, and he is Craig.
🤣🤣🤣
Loving this collab and you are correct, if ya don't love The Goonies you're a wrong un.
This was a nice colab cross over surprise!
It was fun!
I was hoping you two would colab when i seen craigs video on the cx. So glad it happened. Great video as usual.
Yeah it was a cool experience!
Watched the same history from two different directors 😎 Great job! Keep it up!
Cool to see different views of the same thing
One of the best collab episodes i could imagine. I think I’m gonna rewatch it more than once.
Glad you enjoyed!
When a superb mechanic such as Craig calls on your expertise. WOW....
🤘🤘
I really enjoyed watching you and Craig working together. You guys make a pretty good team. I hope that you'll be working together on future projects.
Glad you enjoyed!

So fun to see two of my favorite old bike guys together!!! 😃
🤘🤘
that spray bottle you were using while cleaning the carbs made some wild sounds lol
🤣🤣
Very nice thing you did for Craig!
It was definitely mutual lol
Great to see it from the other perspective BJ. 👍
Glad you enjoyed!
Good job you blokes, can't wait to see the finished ADV- CX on a trail.
🤘🤘
Great to see the two different styles - definitely seemed that you complimented each other perfectly. Another great video B.J. 👍
Thanks Andy!
I used to have an 82 CX500T....that was the best
I really need a turbo at some point. I'd have fun with that
@@BrickHouseBuilds You do. That bike was a blast.
Very cool seeing the two of you working together. I bought a CX500 for a couple hundred bucks in January and have watched and learned religiously from each of you. I’ve got everything roadworthy- except for the neutral light. Tried following the complex diagram.. Fail. Just need it explained to me like an 8 year old. Thanks for the content and the humor. I appreciate it.
Well I appreciate you watching! The neutral light has power going to one side of the bulb. The other side is path to ground through the switch on the engine. You can test by putting a multimeter on continuity, one lead on the small threaded side of the switch and the other on the block somewhere. If it beeps when in neutral and stops when you shift it, the switch is good
I have been following you both for a very long time. Love both what you are doing and great to see you working together. 😊👍
🤘🤘
More videos like that, you anc Craig are the best!
Glad you enjoyed
I found your channel after you visited Craig. Looks like you have some great content too!
Well thank ya! I feel I have some good stuff on here 😉
“The beard and the mullet company” for all your custom motorcycle rebuild youtube greatness!
Great stuff - hope to get my cx500 up and ready for the same reason
🤣🤣
Excellent Napolean Dynamite pull with the sweet jumps
😂🤘
Great duo! I look forward to watching more of your content.
🤘🤘
Yeah good episode!
🤘🤘
Couldn't get any better 👏🏻👍🏻🇮🇪
🤘🤘
Two great creators working together!
🤘🤘
My two favorite CZcams channels right here 😮
🙏🙏
Boys, you are an awesome team together. Do more joint projects together for our education and entertainment! Thank you so much! Greetings from Hungary, Europe!
Glad you enjoyed
Lil tip if ya do not know, leave the brake pin in and one of the pads, no dented piston and no stuck rag.
I usually just use a block of wood and then a piece of aluminum
@@BrickHouseBuilds when I posted I thought this was the other chaps video. I don't want to tell you how to suck eggs!
This gives me some more confidence for the $150 GL500 for an adventure type bike.
There is definitely a different style, presentation , and pace to each channel and that’s something to appreciate.
I just knew you’d get some fabrication in.
A GL500 would make a great adv bike so definitely go for it!
Tire on fire was awesome!!
He fought that thing for a long time!
Delivering on the asmr shop sounds with the new microphones. The sandpaper scene where you could see Craig in the background was pretty funny!
Lol this was my first time using the mics so there was a learning curve. They sound great though
@@BrickHouseBuilds I appreciated the experience! It felt more immersive!
Also, yeah, the sound is very crisp!
Lol. So cool to see your side of the rebuild!
I think I appreciate the jockulairity mostly.
There's no better fun than two or three dudes working "together" on a single project!
BTW Craigs YT channel is how I found you so good move for you both and I'm sure Craig and Dan have gained as well!👍
Well I appreciate you checking out the channel!
7:34 perfect sound match from craig 🤣🤭
🤣🤣🤣 it syncs perfectly!
After Craig finishes that bike you guys should hook up and do the Mid Atlantic BDR route from PA to VA.i used to live back there and I've been wanting to haul a bike back and do it myself. I really miss the rides in that part of the country, especially in the fall.
😎
Great to see your angle on this collaboration, creating the twins twin 😂
Wow. My best friend (RIP) put a Yamaha off-road front end and longer rear shocks on a CX and, apparently, it handled the dirt really well. As a lifelong CX fan, I’d definitely want to find out for myself!! 🇬🇧
The cx adventure bike I built was great so this should be good
@@BrickHouseBuilds “Hold me closer, Tony Danza…”
@@BrickHouseBuilds Craig’s worryingly keen on setting things on fire…
The trick to hand sanding is to just go at the pace you can maintain rather than tryna speed through shit. It's gonna take as long as it's gonna take.
Coming from Bierded's channel... Gona watch you'r videos regulary.
Well I appreciate it!
Awsome video
🤘🤘
Great job guys
Thank ya!
@@BrickHouseBuilds you know you can come to Georgia and help me with my 1971 CB175 restoration LOL.
I am sure my comment on his original video didn’t actually have anything to do with this, but I like to imagine it helped! This is pretty sweet. I hope you get a bunch of new viewers and subs from this.
They really did!
i love this colab
Definitely fun to do!
10:40 if you don't mind making a mess and wasting grease, using a grease gun to pump the brake caliper full tends to be a lot more controlled and it provides way more pressure than air.
I thought about linking my video where I show that. Definitely works great but yes, super messy
That rocker tower looks like your logo. 😂
Can't be unseen! 🤣
Uh hello! It's TONY DANZA!!!!
Correct
Awesome vid, two of my favourite spanner men at work on something that shouldn't be................
🤘🤘
36:40 I like it
Cool!
🤘
just disided to subscribe as your work on the honda with the Bearded Mechanic was proper pro and enjoyed how you problem solved . uk (Scotland)
@@timothyroper1897 I appreciate it. If you like pro work I have a ton for you on my channel

I did not see you start it.
Looks just a bit incomplete,
Waiting for chapter 3
Just ran out of time unfortunately.
Good video BJ always good to help out a brother, top man and nice bike for sure ,now where was I back to Elton John 😂😂😉👌👍🔧🔧🔧🔧❤️🏍️🏍️
You're welcome! 😉
This is awesome! You're really making a name for yourself here!
P.S. any word on the CBX project?

Glad to have you in Pa!What is the hack for pressed in pilot jets?i have an 81 cb650c with press in jets.Such a pain.
I show the pilot removal in this video which is a full carburetor rebuild tutorial czcams.com/video/XNgZ2Xl-xG8/video.html
The quest was the shit. I forgot about that movie
I watched the preview for it and I think I have to check it out
So glad I've never dealt with carbs that nasty. I'm pretty sure the next time I need to overhaul my Suzuki GS750 carbs, I'll invest in a Murray Carbs set. Maybe.
These weren't too bad. There was limited varnish actually.
Shhh! Don't tell Craig, but I like YOUR headlight MUCH better than I liked his! (AND you can "...count the headlights on the highway...")
I see what you did there 😉

@@BARBQPUP ok..
For the ultrasonic, try washing up liquid....:)...
I have a dedicated ultrasonic cleaning chemical that does awesome actually
@BrickHouseBuilds Alright, mate...:)
What is its name?
My brother and I are about to start a motorcycle mechanic shop in Hungary from next year, and we've found your channel really helpful. Thanks for the videos!
@@shuszter sharpertek. Head to kmcaeburetor.com to find it. There may be a supplier near you
@brickhousebuilds @the_bearded_mechanic Instead of using heat, compressed air, etc...there is a much safer and easier way to get the caliper piston out. Get a bolt the same size and thread as the banjo bolt an put it in place of the banjo bolt. Then back out the zirk fitted a bit and hook a grease gun to it and pump the grease into the caliper. The pressure will push it out and once it is free it won't shoot anywhere. All you have to do then is clean the grease out of the caliper. MUCH safer. I've done this on countless calipers and its never failed.
Yes I actually have a video showing that method which works well. Very messy though!
@@BrickHouseBuilds Clean up some grease...lose an eye...I think its a good tradeoff. lolol Love your vids. I've got two 80 CB750F's I'm working on restoring.
I need some advice as well Mr BHB, I bought a new ultrasonic cleaner, what do you recommend? the names of stuff you use we don't have here in Australia🤔
Hey mate I'm from nz and I just use morning fresh dishwashing from Woolworths mixed with hot water and a little bit of mineral turps and I find that works really well
@@chadmk2esky49 Thanks bud
I use oil eater from Eastwood auto resterations
Hmmm, just went and checked that out. I like the non toxic aspect. I may have to buy some
BJ, were you using the Simple Green undiluted?....if diluted, what ratio?
I ask because I've not experienced what you describe with aluminum.....
I actually go over my exact setup in this short video. This is what I used to use but I have switched to a different and far better chemical czcams.com/users/shortsPnhOp6YSleQ
@@BrickHouseBuilds ok, I see....you were using the "pro" version, I use the "plain" Simple Green usually diluted 10:1. It works much better than Dawn alone and I've never had an issue with aluminum.
Hi I am building a 1981 KL250 i am going to have to make a hole new wiring harness. Any suggestions on places to find information. Thanks.
Places like 4rcustomswire will have newer wiring components to use where places like cycleterminal will have OE style parts. Mae sure you have a service manual to work from
Hold me closer Tony Danza.... Theresa headlight on the highway
🤣
I done seen it 🤣 on the other channel gerg
Well thats usually how a collab goes! You get two videos from different perspectives.
Are the tires directional? 🤔
Yes, and mounted correctly
What kind of headlight is that?
Nevermind found it
Tell craig that greg is going to mad for leaving him out on this one lol
😂
What kind of tire on the rear wheel?
@@jennylopez9649 I show and mention what they are
Oh my goodness. Now I feel bad and like need to apologize. I guess I made some snarky comments kind of directed toward Craig when his post of this collaboration came up on his site. Ya know loyalty and all. Then I posted again and confirmed "Subscribing." So I guess I need to tone things down. But this collaboration is incredibly rare and I appreciate this so much. His post of this as well. ~~~. So yea. The Third fbMP purchase that I made was the Bandit 600. Initially I thought it was the 1200 so I got pretty excited 02' light accident damage. Parts of the front coaming still there but clearly ditching that stuff. This headlight tho. So cool. I was rewinding Craigs post... Back and forth. I could not see the brand of the headlight. Looked all over e-bay too. Do you know the brand of the headlight? ~ for my suzuki 600 ??? The Headlight. I'll bug Craig and apologize. Thank you for this. ~~~ Mr. Not Worthy from New Hampshire.
Should I be wearing eye protection to watch you weld?
The screen can't produce light as intense as the welder so you're safe
@@BrickHouseBuilds I was just joking
Is the front tire on backward?
No sir. Mounted as it should be
@@BrickHouseBuilds Noted ... I thought treads were pretty much always supposed to point down in the front so when it pushes into a soft surface it pushes material out to the sides.
Interesting. Thanks for answering.
What mic are you using?
These are Hollyland brand
@@BrickHouseBuilds Thank you
Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 Adventure Bike? 🤔😂
How mutch is Craig is older than you?
Id say probably 6 or so years if I had to guess
You need a camera person; maybe a girl about 20-21 yrs. old. You know the type, She probably does part time modeling and just melts when you fire up the Honda 750 😄
🤣🤣
Who is in charge of putting the videos on you tube because you put episode 2 up on Friday and episode 1 on Monday 🤔
That was a different channel. You watched Craig's video Friday as thats his normal upload day. My normal upload day is Monday so this is my video of the visit.
