In 2009 I graduated highschool, and remember this song coming out. And all I want to say is that we are in 2022 and it feels like a long dream. Like I’m going to wake up back in 2009. It’s a very happy/ sad conflicted feeling. I couldn’t wait to get older back then, but now I wish I could relive those years and stop aging. I just want to tell whoever is ready this. If you are younger, don’t take it for granted and enjoy every second!

yesterday was my last day of senior year. It was raining all day. It’s still raining right now, as I walk around near my elementary school. I just experienced for the first time, a song that I have heard a thousand and one times becoming a COMPLETELY New experience. My Mom passed this Aug 2021 my Nanny exactly three months later. This is the first time I've heard this song since the events and man...Unbelievable punch to the gut of nostalgia, memories of my mom, and just a feeling of emptiness that I have never ever felt. But after hearing that song it really help me relax and think better. Now I'm at the gym everyday and it helps me a lot with this kind of things. To me, this song is the epitome of childhood imagination and blissful ignorance about the bad parts of life. Everytime I listen to it it's like I'm 12 again, where everything was new and exciting, and if it wasn't I'd make it fun. I felt truly alive and closely in tune with my surroundings. There was no trauma or fear clouding my brain. I've spent the past 5 years or so trying hard not to lose that mindset because in this world, you have to create your own happiness, and stability, and always count your blessings.
