@@themadeupokie Actually you could make a side line job out of it. My husband traveled one decade alot. So couldn't really work full time. One year we travel alot. So I put an ad in a local magazine. Saying, Floral east coast designer, celebrating the Holiday in Portland Oregon this year. For Hire to decorate your home for the Christmas Season. I got a wonderful Job with a view of Mt. Hood. Paid great and was given a local artist Santa Claus and a bottle of homemade Baileys Irish cream. But you can work year round on odd jobs. I did many floral wedding jobs and special events on my own. It can be done, especially if your passionate about your work. At first it's not about the money. But as you move forward and word gets out and spreads. You do become sought after. I even got to the point of refusing work. Start with the Christmas tree. Oh and used a later like yours. But made them do there own lights and star on top. They even hired there cook to cook lunch for me. Follow your passion in life.

Everone that i know loves how i decorate my tree. I also have a very small fb business making wreaths. My question is how much should i charge to decorate trees at my friends houses? I have 2 that are interseted and im just not sure.

I think I charge around $500.00. Think 20ft height. And one year it fell on me. But dont undersell yourself. Two friends asking, tells me you have talent. Plus your selling wreaths online. It how you value yourself. I made it big once I closed/ lock my doors to public and it was by appointment only. And my prices went up. Once you value yourself and prove it. You'll be booked soiled by the next year. Just saying
Beautiful. I love watching others decorate their trees! I love decorating my own! I change the theme every year. When my kids were all living at home, my favorite tree ever was a tree I put 40 bears on. A hospital organization had 5 distinct beanie bear type bears made. The money went to a children's charity. So we bought 8 of each bear. Along with ribbon, picks, balls and bears it was adorable! As a topper I used teddy bear ribbon, some brown glitter ribbon, and a larger teddy bear on top!
I love watching others decorate too! Glad you enjoyed mine. I admire those with the creativity to change up their tree every year. It takes me a few years to feel like I’ve really perfected a tree. Your bear tree sounds very cute, and helping a great cause. Cheers to the New Year!!

Those twinkle lights were playing havoc with the camera focus! 😝 That’s a lovely tree. I agree prelit just means a headstart on the lights. I never have seen one that comes lit enough as is.

I thought your tips for the topper were excellent. I would have never thought of the spotlight. Very smart to mention the fact to use an LED bulb, a regular blub increases the risk of fire. As someone who lives in a frame Victorian way out in the county, far from a fire hydrant or fire station I am always fearful of fire. Nothing but LED lights on my tree and flameless candles for me. Overall I think your tree was lovely.

I really enjoyed your demonstration and explanation for us rookies, however your camera must be on auto focus because it would blur then focus, blur, focus sharp constantly. So check that otherwise your tree is beautiful and you give a lot of different ideas to try.

Jose Perez If you are located in Mexico City you could get a wide variety of similar Christmas ornaments pretty easy in "Palacio de Hierro ", "Liverpool" or The Home Store "widely found this stores also in main city states though. Kind Regards.🎄
Wow, it was hard to focus on the tree at times you have such a unique and beautiful home. Do you have an open loft like balcony upstairs on either side of the house overlooking the downstairs ? And those sliding barn doors and floor to ceiling windows are just gorgeous. What a awesome home you have!! You should do a video tour of it and show it off!!

The balconies each lead to other rooms - one goes to the game room and the other is connected to my study. But the two sides aren’t connected to one another, which is a bit unconventional. You did an amazing job . you always have a touch of whimsical fun and your color choices are always combinations of genius . these videos atleast make me have feelings of happiness, anticipation, , love etc......... I’ll see if I can put something together. In the meantime, I’ll explain a bit so hopefully that can help you out as well. Adding the 3rd ribbon isn’t much different than with 2. The trick that makes it look how I want is to make sure I’m alternating the ribbons while making the loops so it doesn’t look like one bow is simply nestled inside the other. I will say that adding additional ribbons makes it more complicated to make. As does ribbons of different sizes. Plus any bow with that many loops requires lots of finger strength to keep it all held together! 😊 Good luck! With practice I’m sure you’ll make a beautiful bow!
Do you use floral wire on your ribbon loops or do you just make the loops and stick in the tree? Either way, SO much easier than winding long length of ribbon around or through or down the tree!
Yes, I use either floral wire or twist ties (the green kind that comes in a long spool so you can cut to size) to secure the loops. That way I can also store them and easily reuse them the next year. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!!

Are you saying you added two different lights? Twinkle and regular or just twinkle? I have a cheap 9 foot tree, so I was thinking of adding three more strands of lights to the inner part. And the individual light on top is a great idea. You must be a designer.
I only added twinkle lights. It’s amazing what a difference it makes! The idea for the light on top came after my first year decorating this tree in my new house and realizing how dark it was up there. And it’s made such a huge difference! Thanks again for commenting and watching!!

I start with a short tail, pinch the ribbon in between two fingers, create a loop, pinch between the fingers , twist 180 degrees and repeat one or two more times. Thank you! I got my tree from At Home. It comes in 5 sections and when you place the next section on the tree, it automatically powers it so no hunting for the male and female end of the cords when connecting sections. That’s a great feature! Thanks for watching!!

Hi! I've added the link to the lamp to the description box. Just remove the clamp and reflector and you have the socket with cord. It does not come with the bulb. I recommend an LED bulb so it doesn't get hot. I used a tubular 3W bulb in warm white, but it doesn't look like my exact bulb is made any longer. I'll look for something similar and post the link if I'm able to find a comparable bulb. Thanks for watching! Hope you create a gorgeous tree!

Hi. A tutorial is typically defined by "teaching " and explaining steps therefore speaking is a hihe part of it as well as showing but there is also another video of hers that teaches bow making . So unfortunately you missed a lot. I'm truly not trying to be rude but perhaps showing another side of the page is all.she has other Christmas tree decorativeing videos that are amazing and show and explain some things more in depth . making that video, editing and decorating that huge tree takes a lot of time and allows us to watch for free and invade her private home and invites us in . I think thats pretty cool. Hope you're Having a good day .
Ok so the robot talk never stopped.... sorry to be rude but you obviously have a beautiful home and a eye for design it would be nice to have you just talk from the heart, every once in awhile you did, you sorta let the script go.. it just wasn’t relatable or what people want to see or hear on CZcams, on CZcams people want real, like real at home decorating tips and not a robotic rhythmic spewing of instructions. I know we want to come across perfect and put together but you just seemed nervous, be a little more you girl!! Now if this is you then I’ll shut my pie hole 😂

Hobby Lobby is NOT cheap! GO TO A DOLLAR TREE BUY THEIR CHRISTMAS DECORS & THEN GO HOME & USE THESE DECORS TO DESIGN & A DESIGNER TREE...That would be impressive!
Domestic interiors should not echo. You really SHOULD do something about that. There is volumes of information on sound control on the internet. It's not stylish or chic to live in a space that sounds like you in a gymnasium.
I hate glitter and won't have it in my house, I think it looks gaudy and fake. I prefer to decorate with a more natural theme and YES she does talk too much and her voice is so squeaky.

I really enjoyed your demonstration and explanation for us rookies, however your camera must be on auto focus because it would blur then focus, blur, focus sharp constantly. So check that otherwise your tree is beautiful and you give a lot of different ideas to try.

Jose Perez If you are located in Mexico City you could get a wide variety of similar Christmas ornaments pretty easy in "Palacio de Hierro ", "Liverpool" or The Home Store "widely found this stores also in main city states though. Kind Regards.🎄

Wow, it was hard to focus on the tree at times you have such a unique and beautiful home. Do you have an open loft like balcony upstairs on either side of the house overlooking the downstairs ? And those sliding barn doors and floor to ceiling windows are just gorgeous. What a awesome home you have!! You should do a video tour of it and show it off!!

The balconies each lead to other rooms - one goes to the game room and the other is connected to my study. But the two sides aren’t connected to one another, which is a bit unconventional. The tree is exceptionally , creatively, brilliantly beautiful ! You did an amazing job . you always have a touch of whimsical fun and your color choices are always combinations of genius . these videos atleast make me have feelings of happiness, anticipation, , love etc......... Could you make a video on how to make this bow? Since the other video only had 2 ribbons and it seemed to be the same size.
I’ll see if I can put something together. In the meantime, I’ll explain a bit so hopefully that can help you out as well. Adding the 3rd ribbon isn’t much different than with 2. The trick that makes it look how I want is to make sure I’m alternating the ribbons while making the loops so it doesn’t look like one bow is simply nestled inside the other. I will say that adding additional ribbons makes it more complicated to make. As does ribbons of different sizes. Plus any bow with that many loops requires lots of finger strength to keep it all held together! 😊 Good luck! With practice I’m sure you’ll make a beautiful bow!
Do you use floral wire on your ribbon loops or do you just make the loops and stick in the tree? Either way, SO much easier than winding long length of ribbon around or through or down the tree!
Yes, I use either floral wire or twist ties (the green kind that comes in a long spool so you can cut to size) to secure the loops. That way I can also store them and easily reuse them the next year. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!!

Are you saying you added two different lights? Twinkle and regular or just twinkle? I have a cheap 9 foot tree, so I was thinking of adding three more strands of lights to the inner part. And the individual light on top is a great idea. You must be a designer.
I only added twinkle lights. It’s amazing what a difference it makes! The idea for the light on top came after my first year decorating this tree in my new house and realizing how dark it was up there. And it’s made such a huge difference! Thanks again for commenting and watching!!

how do you make the loops?

I start with a short tail, pinch the ribbon in between two fingers, create a loop, pinch between the fingers , twist 180 degrees and repeat one or two more times. Thank you! I got my tree from At Home. It comes in 5 sections and when you place the next section on the tree, it automatically powers it so no hunting for the male and female end of the cords when connecting sections. That’s a great feature! Thanks for watching!!

Hi! I've added the link to the lamp to the description box. Just remove the clamp and reflector and you have the socket with cord. It does not come with the bulb. I recommend an LED bulb so it doesn't get hot. I used a tubular 3W bulb in warm white, but it doesn't look like my exact bulb is made any longer. I'll look for something similar and post the link if I'm able to find a comparable bulb.

Didn’t show how to do the ribbon. Fast forward through it all, when the talking should have been fast forward. All you did was showed us the final steps.

Hi. A tutorial is typically defined by "teaching " and explaining steps therefore speaking is a hihe part of it as well as showing but there is also another video of hers that teaches bow making . So unfortunately you missed a lot. I'm truly not trying to be rude but perhaps showing another side of the page is all.she has other Christmas tree decorativeing videos that are amazing and show and explain some things more in depth . making that video, editing and decorating that huge tree takes a lot of time and allows us to watch for free and invade her private home and invites us in . I think thats pretty cool. Hope you're Having a good day .

Ok so the robot talk never stopped.... sorry to be rude but you obviously have a beautiful home and a eye for design it would be nice to have you just talk from the heart, every once in awhile you did, you sorta let the script go.. it just wasn’t relatable or what people want to see or hear on CZcams, on CZcams people want real, like real at home decorating tips and not a robotic rhythmic spewing of instructions. I know we want to come across perfect and put together but you just seemed nervous, be a little more you girl!! Now if this is you then I’ll shut my pie hole 😂

Yes, lesson learned. I’m my own camera person and had it on auto focus. I didn’t realize the lights would freak out the focus until it was too late. 😔 I’ve filmed subsequent tree decorating videos this year and they’ve turned out better. Thanks for watching!

Domestic interiors should not echo. You really SHOULD do something about that. There is volumes of information on sound control on the internet. It's not stylish or chic to live in a space that sounds like you in a gymnasium.
I hate glitter and won't have it in my house, I think it looks gaudy and fake. I prefer to decorate with a more natural theme and YES she does talk too much and her voice is so squeaky.
