- So I smoked the gearbox and the clutch. So while sorting that I also decided to give the motor a freshen up. Seems like an ideal time seeing as we are in Covid19 Lock Down and also heading into winter.

Did you notice a big difference when you went to the 10lb flywheel?
I have always run around 10lb, Think I have only had one engine with a stock flywheel in my life. But there is quite a difference. Just makes it rev faster. I have a 6lbs to try out
@@West13bMazdaRotariesNZ yeah ok!! Mine is lightened.. But around the 14lb mark.. Not Swiss cheese like yours probably is.. Might need to look into it..
Where did u get the glass needle from?
@@golfy808 My 10lbs isnt lightened so to speak, it was machined from billet to that size. Glass needle can get from Weber Specs but I think I got that one from A VW place in the states

Hey thanks man, I have an interesting setup in my carb. - 215 mains, 90 Airs, 80 pumps, F7 tubes, 48mm venturis, cut down aux venturis (grub screwed), 65 idles, 320 glass ball needle. Drilled out fuel inlet etc

@@golfy808 yeah small mains but big pump jets (80's vs usual 50's)
