We had started our journey from Srinagar to basecamp Naranag which is a very beautiful village. It took us two days to cover Nandkol lake, Gangabal Lake and kolsar lake situated on this route. @@desiyatrivikas do not go alone unless you have a lot of trekking experience. Instead go with any trek organisers like i did with searching souls. you can go with anyone like trek the himalayas, yhai, etc

Beautiful drone shots. We did the reverse trek 2 weeks back starting from Sonmarg ending at Naranag. The landscape of your video looked more beautiful than when we did the descent towards Naranag as the path was dusty and frequently interrupted by mules. Good job.

Nice video folks. Went on the Gangbal trek first time way back in 1997. Its good you guys raised the vital issue of man made pollution with plastic and the sort at these pristine locations. Just one honest suggestion , dont mix trekking with religion, the point you made ( am sure unintentionally) about the Temple complex at Naranag being defiled “ after the cultural change” , that was juvenile. Infact the remains of temple complexes of ancient history at many places in Kashmir like Naranag, Panderathan etc have been preserved admirably by the Kashmiris throughout their history( during ancient times through muslim rule to after Independence ). The toll that the structures have taken is due to time lag of thousands of years and not otherwise.
Secondarily the so called Temple right next to the Gangbal lake was never there even till a few years back. Unfortunately in these over zealous times the So called Temple has been made , remarkably by atrociously painting a rock with saffron color and drawing religious motifs in red. Its total vandalism of nature in the garb of religion. Its a real eye sore to the landscape as well….Nonetheless kudos for making the video. Brought back pleasant memories.

I did this last year in August from sonmarg side. Gadsar lake and gadsar campsite is most beautiful.

I have done KGL with India hikes, people have littered, most beautiful place on the planet. Every point we see is filled with plastic waste and cigarette buds. Every camp point is filled with Maggie, chocolates, chewing gum wrappers. sorry to say this, KGL which was my dream trek, shattered with plastic wastes, even lakes weren't spared. Each dabbs generate tons of waste and people dumping garbage everywhere. Most funny part is, trekking companies carrying live stocks to satisfy their trekkers. Mules were punished with heavy loads and they let them die, if not fit to be used for them. we saw horse, just died because of starvation.
Absolutely agree with u.. it was so disheartening to see the 1st lake & the mess further.

This is completely a misleading video. This is not KGL. This is just 2 days Gangabal Trek from Naranag. Don’t fool your audience, It’s not expected from you.
KGL is full circuit Trek stars from Sonmarg side and end at Naranag, takes 6 Days of trekking and you can see 6-7 main Lakes.

No. It's not allowed. Ankit works with defense audit so he carried with special permission bcz of his job.
