I like the fact that you are not afraid to go against what everyone else is doing. I agree with you, people should wear bags because they love them not because they are trendy. Who cares if a bag is not trendy? The reason you bought the bag is because you loved it in the first place.
Preach!! If you love something, you shouldn't care if it's trendy at all. This is one of my dream bags but in the small size. I really love the navy color-way but def go with the color that fits your wardrobe best!
I think the book tote will be back in trend once it is normal to travel again. I still want this bag so bad, but keep holding myself to buy it because i donât know where to wear it except traveling.
hmm i dont think its a good travel bag. Weekend bag, yes, travel.. no.. It doesnt close, its so big, it needs to be squished in the overhead. just not good

I love the Dior Book Tote. I never use big bags and honestly donât love totes; however, I think this bag is like a work of art. Itâs just gorgeous. Itâs also refreshing to hear an influencer actually call out other influencers for being ridiculous. Most people donât have the means to continuously buy new trending bags or the following to sell bags just because they think itâs âoff tendâ

Itâs a great bag if the buyer has use for it. It doesnât have a zipper and the handles are pretty short, and itâs a pretty stiff bag and handle. Overall functionality pretty limited. Looks super nice on pictures if you just fill it with flowers lol, great influencer bag đ¸

I appreciate this honest review while you still own the bag. I often seeing glowing reviews while the bag is still owned and then only hear about all the faults in a "bags I sold and why video." This is a beautiful bag but in this size doesn't seem like the most user-friendly daily tote and only practical for travel for road trips or flying private.

SO WELL SAID about influencers, trend, and luxury bags!! I still love the book tote looks just not fit my lifestyle so I never bought it. I also vote for selling the big one and getting a small size! You would be able to use it a lot more frequently I think!

Hey Lou I have the grey in the large size it is SUCH a look. First of all itâs just practical thing in my life. Iâm 5â9 so the big one actually looks really great. I donât mind that itâs heavy because it fits so much of my stuff I can put my laptop and stuff in it and I can travel with it. But the gray I feel goes with literally everything it doesnât matter what Iâm wearing or where Iâm going itâs always looks great and itâs just itâs still eye-catching, which is surprising because itâs so muted.

I like the large size actually but I would choose another print. I love the lights print from the cruise collection last year and some of the Aztec ones they do.
I would need an organizer though if I use it outside of travel.
I think you make a huge point. Many influencers that can afford it bought it because it looks "instagramable", whereas other people like you bough it because they find a use to it. I personally love it and I know I carry a lot normally so probably I would use it a lot too. But with the pandemic and not being able to find a use to it they are like "naaaaah, better sell it, and btw you should too" and afterwards they can buy another trendy bag (like the LV coussin). I'm about your height so I would go for the small book tote too, I think objectively speaking they both can carry the same amount of stuff for someone of our size xD there is no way you fill the big one top to bottom and still are able to carry it around.

Iâve been really wanting to buy this bag for along time now, I currently have the original menâs oblique saddle bag and love it. Though something about this tote bag I just canât get over. I wish it didnât go up so much in price, I feel like the 2k range wouldnât have been as crazy as compared to the current 3.1k price. I still love the Dior Book Tote and I would wear it despite any trend. đ If you are serious about buying the book tote again, but in the small size; I think you should buy it in the blue Toile de Jouy; the embroidery stands out far more in the blue, verses the gray đâ¤ď¸
I have just bought the Butterfly print medium tote from the pre sale market.
Luckily I bought it for a lot less than the new price. I will wear it and enjoy it as itâs such a beautiful design.
Perhaps my next bag will be the large tote. But I feel that the large would be too big for everyday use. More for travelling. But it is a tough decision to decide.

I never got on board with this bag. I have 2 reasons: itâs fabric and for the size I have to have shoulder straps. I canât hold it all day in my hand or crook of arm. I got the LV onthego GM and very happy since it has the long shoulder straps and itâs durable canvas.

I just bought the large Dior oblique book tote... the only problem I have is, some small loose threads on the letters... but I looked at 5 different totes and they all had loose threads on different areas on the bag, mostly on the letters... my SA said it is normal and to leave it alone... he also said that if the thread should loosen up more that I have a warranty on the bag and they would send it to Paris to get it repaired... so đ¤
The Dior book tote is pretty and they have amazing embroidery patterns. However, it is not for me. I know I wouldnât use it and it would not bring me joy. I would honestly prefer a LV OTG, Neverfull, or Chanel GST or something.
But for the Neverfull, because it is so common, I would prefer a more limited canvas/pattern. Regret not getting the Escale Blue. But itâs fine. A new pattern I love will emerge eventually.

This is one bag I've never understood and will never understand. She's nice enough, even a classic, but it looks heavy, it's open (what a nightmare), you can't carry it on your shoulder... just no for me because I dislike carrying heavy bags (and the bigger the bag, the more tempted we're to stuff it) so that influences my opinion on totes in general.
Side note: is the camel Chanel behind you crooked? I hope not! :(

I am a Flight Attendant, and yes, not having any item ânext to your legsâ can really save your life, and the life of who is sitting close to you.
The reason is basically that in case of an emergency, you have to run out of the aircraft so fast that any item on the ground or even on your lap, can be an obstacle and cause your and otherâs death.
I feel you when you say that you donât enjoy having the bag up on the overhead compartment, thatâs the reason why when I travel I never bring with me an expensive bag in the cabin. I usually pack all my nice items
in the luggage that will go into the hold âşď¸

So a cloth bag in an airplane and on a conveyor belt .... does not make sense to me that this is supposed to be a travel bag. But I donât like Dior. Anyways, for travelling, Longchamp makes more sense to me. I would let this go, personally.
I stopped buying Chanel. Their quality just has been so disappointing and when you send it out for a repair, it takes months to get it back. Was planning to buy the book tote but the price for a canvas bag with a big hole, I passed and visited Hermes for the quality and value.
