I am surprised everyone is saying grocery is about 500-700 but I am not able to bring it down from 1100. Sometime it might include Costco clothing(on deals) but other than that normal stuff from Costco, super store and wall mart. What magic? and why you chose Ottawa not Toronto/Montreal?
R u a single or family? For us 2 ppl and we also shop at Costco but it doesn’t get that much! But I make our own bread and rotie at home. Because we don’t like the store ones and maybe if u consume a lot of those items it adds up. Also I know a lot of ppl go grocery shopping and buy on deals even though they have items in their pantry. That might save u down the road but it won’t reduce your monthly bill
The cost of living is becoming more and more expensive in Canada because of Justin Trudeau. Canada is in a healthcare and housing crisis right now which explains all the tent encampments across the country. Canada is becoming over populated and its getting harder and harder for a lot of people to find a job. So I would highly recommend if you're considering moving to Canada make sure you have a job already lined up and a place to live, otherwise you could be living on the streets like many other people are.
You give Trudeau too much credit. The cost of living and homelessness crisis has been in the making for decades, his party is just putting the final nail in the coffin.
