  • Ratna Pathak Shah talks about her relationship with Naseeruddin Shah and how she used to bully Supriya Pathak during childhood. She shares how her upbringing defied societal norms, thanks to her progressive parents, who never discriminated between Supriya and her and encouraged both sisters to learn to drive. She recalls her grandmother's reaction to the birth of two granddaughters.

I so relate to her views about songs like " Aap ki nazron ne samjha pyar ke kaabil mujhe". God so damn regressive. Why should I be considered kaabil by some damn male?? Or " Sajna hai mujhe sajna ke liye“ or " Charnon mei jo na jagah paoon ". I hate these patriarchal songs. When will men learn?????

god, I always hated saas bahu soap opera. they were so toxic. i was dying for something fresh all my life during teens and I just hated my mom being glued to those dumb, shitty k soaps. all I remember is my good old Doordarshan programs.

The interviewer seems to be paid by the guest....unke har ek baat pe haan haan...yeah yeah...interviewer is supposed to understand their view not necessarily agree to it. And it's so disrespectful to show such good songs in bad light...it may have seemed regressive but the song might have fit in the situation of the movie... By disrespecting the song u have disregarded all those people who worked hard on that song. Aur yeh jo itna modern bank phirti hai...apne time pe kisi ke liye aawaz uthati Hui Nazar nahin aayi...only thing she could say is "shayad main tab yeh position mein nahin thi" ...to bring the change, to voice out opinions u don't have to be in a position to do so. She always is seen demeaning hindu culture and traditions. This is the same woman who spoke vile about karwa chauth. U r free to express ur views but not by disrespecting one's own culture or tradition or way of living. Just like u have ur own choice...rest also have their own choice.

I agree with Ratna, Karva Chauth is a stupid tradition I do not care what the significance is. Its my personal opinion. and tumhe kaise pate k isne awaaz nahi uthayi.. tab kaha social media tha? koi awaz Utha tha ta to koi print nehi karta tha.. you should go and enjoy your saas bahu serials.. that suits your personality best. :)
