- Terry Jones sits down for a chat with Terry Wogan, where they discuss the future of Monty Python, getting mugged by a horse, whether Monty Python and the Holy Grail was an accurate depiction of medieval life, being an "armchair anarchist", home-brewing real ale, medieval dentistry, the nature of progress, and the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow.

I met Terry when he was promoting one of his wonderful books. He was a true gentleman and very kind.
That's cool! I wish I met him 😩
So lovely to hear Terry Jones in full flow, especially when you think of his last few years. He was so passionate about things. It's just as well we don't know what the future holds for us.
Yes the late great Terry Jones, such a real shame how his brain went in the end.
At least he had a good 70 years where he was cognitively engaged before things started to deteriorate.
@@4seeableTV I know but for someone who liked to talk so much it must have been dreadful for him.
@@hilaryepstein6013 Of course. It reminds me of what Bruce Willis is going through right now. He can not communicate at all anymore.
@@4seeableTV That's terrible, I didn't know that.
Terry was always a very passionate historian as well as comedian, lovely to see him in full flow and a real shame what happen to him
Not only was Terry Jones hilariously funny and wonderfully talented, he was also of course supremely intelligent.
All the Python's were, and the ones that aren't dead still are!!
Clearly a smart man with wisdom to share.
Prophetic words of a great thinker and critic of our era.
That was wonderful, I could have listened to Terry for hours
He made many history programs, so you have every opportunity to. They're all excellent and, of course, funny.
I'm so happy to learn Terry Jones was an anarchist.
I would never have guessed 🙄
I couldn't watch interviews with all of the python's all day. Such interesting and talented people.
I love the Pythons. Very english, very intelligent, very silly.
Except for Terry who's Welsh, and Terry Gilliam who's American.
Him and Palin were best friends since 1963 terry was 21 and Michael was 20
0:16 - "There is only one thing worse than playing squash together, and that is playing it by yourself.
"I wish I hadn't said that."
I love Terry Jones. He’s so cool.
I'm so sorry but I cannot take Terry Jones seriously without imagining him playing a piano with nothing but socks 😂😂😂😂
Such a delightful young knight Sir Bedivere.
it's always very sad when one of a well known group dies, a Beatle, a Stone, or a Monty Python... RIP Terry Jones 😔
An unusually respectful interview from Wogan. Later on he descended into asking stupid questions and making fools of his subjects. This is a great interview. Terry of course was a fascinating and intelligent individual. A very unhysterical audience too! No whooping or howling.
There's a touch of Wogan's antagonism here too I feel. It's just that Terry does such a good English job of smoothing over the edges of the more thoughtless questions with his humor and humility.
He's so clever and learned he makes a good interview even out of bad questions 😊
Respectful in the sense his final shot at Terry Jones was to liken him to Hitler? Yes, it was a friendly interview in tone, but Wogan was consistently disrespectful and confrontational over most everything, justified by claiming that having views contrary to Wogan's own 'will put people off'! Which is another way of saying, 'You, Terry Jones, put me off with all your opinions that aren't mine!'
My dad's favourite python. He always said he's the real thinker of the group. Can't argue. Apart from my dad, Is Terry J everyones 2nd favourite? He is mine, my favourite was JC.
Watching more interviews of Terry J, I think your father is right. He's one of my favorite, but I really love Eric and Michael😊
He was my second favorite when I was a teen and in love with Michael Palin, but Terry Jones is most certainly my favorite now. He was wonderful. 💜
I think as a rounded person he's my favourite. Love his outlook, politics and his his non-python work. Obviously Palin became a semi national treasure with his travelogues and Gilliam directed some lovely films but Jones's historical work, children's stories and articles are full of intelligence, wit and warmth. Seems to have been a general force for good.
Usually I say Eric Idle, just because he happened to write and/or appear in more of my favourite sketches, but I am such a Python obsessive and I have such a love for all 6 of them, it's very hard to pick just one of them.
Without any of the 6 it just wouldn't have been as magical.
Kind of similar to when trying to pick a favourite Beatle...
What a wonderful Celt. I have always admired his love for knowledge and humour.
One of the great things about interviewing a Python is that the man in the street tends to learn something new. But you can also why Terry was sort of the passionate heart of that team - much to Cleese's annoyance - and probably in everything else he did.
This interviewer sucks the life right out of the room. Thank goodness for Terry!
I find the grounds delightful, and the servants so attentive ...
Guy was a real historian new his stuff and brought it to the comedy he wrote
1984: 'We are all still alive'.
1989: Chapman proceeds to dying of cancer.
To be honest, Cleese gave possibly the best eulogy of all time.
Based for uploading this in correct 50fps
On the right day, Wogan was a great interviewer. He's terrible here though. Always a pleasure to listen to Terry Jones though.
He was so sweet
Rest in Peace Terry Jones
Stapling machine!
🙏
Nice collar
What a legend, although I can't listen to him without thinking of him dressed up as a woman in MP.
Gutted he never got to live his anarchist dream!
Aw he looks cute and handsome soon sad he died 😭😭😭😭
bit of a caricature by wogan at the end. nobody thinks 5 year olds are autonomous
Wogan exudes extreme blandness😮👈
I never was a fan of Terry Wogan. I thought of him as self aggrandising and overly smug.
Wogan was bloody awful. Terry here runs rings around him.
It's crazy to think that Terry lost the ability of speech towards the end of his life
Soo
Wogan lamentable. Great interview despite rather than because of him
