Oh my God ive been looking for this for so long. My parents had this on vhs and I'm quite sure its still in their house but I couldn't ever find it. When i was around 5 or 6 years old, id watch it over and over and over again. I loved it so much. Thank you so so so much for posting this! You have NO IDEA how happy again to be able to see this again!

Watched this so many times as a kid! Now I know that the Blue Angel show was during their first year with the Hornets. I also saw a interview with the team members last year about the transition to the F-18, and during the entire first season they didn’t have inverted fuel pumps (the Navy didn’t think they needed them). They had to essentially go right up to the edge of an engine flameout and document it every time. Dave Anderson (lead solo in this video) mentioned Moffett Field as one really close call.

Why doesn’t thunderbird 1 and blue angel 1 fly with smoke on in formation why is it only 2-6 respectively
