I started seeing him in my YT shorts a few weeks ago and each short is brilliant. My son has just started a Uni degree in games programming, so I am watching now to learn how to support him

You keep thanking the community for the explosion of followers but I haven't seen a lot of thanks being given back. Thank you for the inspirational words, the insight into the Game Development world, the push for myself and many others to try their hands at things they once thought impossible. You have a way of being able to break down things that sound daunting and complicated and make those same things be realized as really simple and not as complex. I can't believe that you were at 13,000 subscribers only a month ago, but every day since myself and many others have found you we're shown that you deserved the explosion of coverage and recognition you and your team deserve.

@@heather9048 He started getting editors to promote his channel more via CZcams Shorts and it has done very well for him. I think a lot of people realized who he was and followed him for that reason, but I also think he got a lot of new people because he has a lot of based takes.

I've been around CZcams since basically its inception and I've never come across someone who is so warm, genuine, kind, intelligent and knowledgeable in the history of the platform. Every time I see any of his videos, I get inspired to do some work on my game.

I used to make games for fun, but since getting my degree (Comp Sci, Games tech) oddly enough I can't get myself to start again, but I think I am close to overcoming the irrational barrier stopping me, a big part thanks to the things you've said.

I just wanted to say that it's really nice to see a content creator putting out good professional advice for people who want to get started in the gaming industry and with coding in general. Your advice is on point, based in reality, and genuinely helpful to people trying to get started in the industry or just to get started creating and coding cool stuff. I don't make many comments on CZcams videos but I wanted to just say I appreciate voices like yours helping create more doers. Keep up the good work!

You are amazing and than you for being a driving positive force in the game dev community. I have been developing since I was 10 (now 41), but I have been told time and time again that "back end devs can't dev games." Once I get an engine installed, I will start on my game.

I found out about you through shorts and would love longer forms videos in that same style. You are the first creator that made me subscribe for the stories you tell through shorts.
This video, especially towards the end about the keys, is incredible. I’ve only started watching recently, but hearing you talk about the ferret rescue, both on stream and in this video, is really inspiring. The empathy and pure compassion toward people who are unable to reasonably access the game for no reason other than their country’s political/financial status is amazing, and seeing the reach making games you love can have really motivates me to learn things like coding and minor game development.

This is the type of stuff I want from games companies, small devs are so good about keeping in touch with their communities, if bigger devs even gave us like quarter breakdowns where they go through what systems they worked on or what accomplishments they had it'd bring a whole new level of accountability and respect to them... On the other end the community also needs to be respectful... That's our biggest issue is immediately flying to death threats and bad acts... I know its a small group of people but still
I remember back in 2017 when the original trailer and demo came out, and something about heartbound just struck a chord deep in my soul. Its a beautiful game, and the stories it tells just resonate with me perfectly. I really can relate to the story it tells. Thank you Thor, you’ve been a massive inspiration for me to try to make games. I am grateful. I was overjoyed to see the channel finally blow up like this! It’s amazing. Heartbound is in my top ten favorite games and it’s not even complete yet. Thank you.

What a wholesome guy
I started watching you because… well it’s hard to explain, but you GET IT.
IT is understanding how the world operates, understanding it’s faults, and leveraging weaknesses to improve upon SOMETHING instead of succumbing to the unfairness.
Its extremely generalizing, but maybe someone understands what I mean.
Anyway, it’s super cool to watch, and can’t wait to see what you accomplish man, because we’re witnessing a beautiful mind here.

I remember seeing this channel a long time ago, don't remember when. it was after coming across some video about heartbound, after that for years i would occasionally come across it and this channel every so often.
Today marks the day I finally played heartbound.
Hours were spent.
and so were 10 bucks.

But I've been introduced to you through CZcams shorts and I was initially grabbed by your stories from working at Blizzard, however I soon found myself endeared by your integrity, passion and your love for what you do, and I just want you to know that I think you are a really cool dude and to keep doing what you are doing, I plan on buying Heartbound very soon at full price. People like you who are passionate about what they do and more importantly care about things other than monetary gain are an increasing rarity in the videogame landscape and should be supported, and although it might not mean much coming from a fat Danish nerd, you have mine.

I just started a new job recently and your videos, mindset everything you've been willing to show us about yourself and what you've done have helped me feel a little less like an imposter. I watch your shorts all the time. I have ZERO interest in software/game development. In fact, I'm a bit of a technophobe to be honest. But I like listening to what you say because I find you quite inspiring. You're real, you're open about your faults and things you don't know, and you have a great way of lifting people up. Those little lessons you share I find are applicable to just life struggles in general.

I saw a short that talked about "ban waves." This concept is pure genius. HR teams take a similar approach in their ATS systems when they reject a candidate, with no-reply email addresses. While it happens in shorter periods, these systems will often send out a mass load of rejection emails one or two days a week or twice a month. This keeps you from analyzing patterns in their hiring practices. Just some random thoughts that came to mind, haha!
