Gotta love a surprise drop!! The song AND album was her way of saying “I ain’t no industry plant and its time to take me seriously” 👍😁
LOL she is definitely an industry plant 😂😂😂😂
🗣️🗣️🗣️
@@nessmiaou3424 She's not. STOP
@@kayklash if the industry pays you, you are an industry plant.
Lmao. Is that what you think?
People always expect Black women to be humble, even Black women.
The issue is that folks feel they can dismiss or make invisible Black women’s accomplishments at any time for any reason.
So when they advocate for themselves, folks don’t know how to take it.
The song aged well.
Best comment hands down! 🖤
Speak your ishhhh😭😢😢😢😭😭💓💗💗💗
Perfect original comment & so true. It's her own version of the song Respect, just not meant for a man but the industry

Stop using the black woman thing. Beyoncé is a clown and not black

She doesn't care more now. She's more focused on her family, being on her grown woman ish and being and artist in the true sense of the word. She's more interested in making art on her own terms.
And rightfully so😄😄😄
That song is an ANTHEM to fuel you when you’re doubting yourself and when you have haters. Nothing more nothing less. Eat the fish and throw away the bones. If the shoe doesn’t fit, DON’T WEAR IT, PERIOD!! 🤷🏽♀️

They couldn’t handle Bey standing up for herself. From a young standpoint, growing up with Beyoncé was powerful. When Bow Bown came out, I didn’t need Bey to clarify that it wasn’t to anyone specifically - you could hear it in the lyrics and feel it in the beat - someone who was done with the old chapter and was ready for something entirely new. 💓💓 will always be grateful for that track especially . 💓
The irony of Wendy gossiping about Beyoncé’s husband cheating, meanwhile her husband had a whole side baby 😩
I'm sure Jay Z has side babies too. But you're right, the irony to throw stones.

Beyoncé had to do a hard reset and many couldn’t handle it. All artists do it but no one was expecting America’s Sweet Heart to be such a savage. Like they say history makers take risks and she definitely did it time and time again.
You said that...it is what it is... she's her own person and she's grown she can do what she wants.
💯👌🏽
❗❗❗
In this world everyone has to be a savage at some point in their lives and when they do its either get with it or get out of my way. I respect Beyonce even more for putting out an album like that.
She had to do a "hard reset because people were BORED of her after 4
And Beyoncé has NEVER been seen as "Americas Sweetheart"
Beyonce had the girls shook as usual.
4 is one of her best albums. That album and Bow Down really changed so many things. She was really coming into her own. Not having a Dad as her manager, running her company, being pregnant with Blue, etc.
When you get tired of people disrespecting you, its no telling what you'll do. Beyonce broke up that perfect image with the song. I wasn't a fan of it. But she did her thing. She wanted all her haters to know, I am not the one to be played.
It’s no telling what you’ll do… will smacks Chris

I loved the "4" documentary, but I thought that she was overworked. She tried to make it really perfect. I was a little surprised at some of the songs. I would up not really liking it. I felt like she didn’t need to worry about not getting a big hit at that point!
@Queen Sahara You know for me, it was always the curse of when a music star puts out such a great album and I have high expectations. It goes down a little for my expectations. This happens for me with a lot of artists. I did enjoy Love on Top and her 4 documentarY. It was really cool to watch on Apple TV.

I'm not a diehard Beyoncé fan. I didn't buy all her music, and I don't follow all of her interviews and appearances. But THIS SONG is LIT!
Folks that were offended were upset because they took it personally -bet they all thought the song was about them. The lyrics are powerful, and the visual images were amazing. Beyonce deserves that respect on her name. I'm here for it hunny!
Beyoncé is a legend. She got songs that are over 10 years old and people still listen to them. Beyoncé isn’t going nowhere.
Try almost 20-25 years... People still even bump her song Crazy In Love and that whole album.
@@EmmanuelLewis2 I know that’s right

Dead or alive🔥💯
I feel like Bey didn't write it about a specific person but a collective of people. People love to discredit Bey, they love to play down her success and her being a legend. I think she was reminding people that she's Queen Beyoncè, she's been in the industry for so long and still has kept her irrelevance. Her impact is insane and undeniable, till this day. I'm glad she released the song, I feel like If she didn't release Bow Down or Self titled, we wouldn't have gotten Lemonade.
Ain’t nothing wrong with that
Who down plays Beyoncé success? Beyoncé doesn’t go through half as much as Nicki as a female artist! I don’t see her being down played she has gotten her flowers & then some so I’m confused🤷🏽♀️
All her criticism is typical backlash as an artist! She’s still on top so I don’t understand this blog! But carry on 💕
oh please nobody down played anything. Beyonce became "queen B" because she was the only black female artist with a whole machine behind her making her mainstream. There were literally no other black female artists who were able to make it as mainstream as beyonce back then and there was reason for that. The moment there finally is diversity with more black female artists making it big she puts out Bow down? Why is it wrong for there to be more black female artists at the same time as Beyonce?
I agree it's an anthem for women but she's a woman as well! She definitely wrote it for herself too as she explained in the video.
Out of all of her albums, 4 was my absolute favorite. I get sad when I hear and read that this album was considered a flop when this piece truly highlighted her Vocal range and skill. 4 will always rank first in my book for her best. Bday is #2
4 had so many bangers… dance for you still is one of my favourite songs from this album.
She didn't give a f. The way she laughed at the end of her explaination said it all. I love her and I would love to hear more of Angry Beyoncé and who want to be mad can be mad.
Hi. I think we did, lol. She’s been mad at the industry, husband, women, racism, & the police in her music. 😂
Love the fact that she didn’t care and stood her ground.

I was never mad at Bey for putting out this track, sometimes you got to say something to let people know who the hell you are. If people in the industry felt offended it’s because they may have had insecurities of their own and felt there is an element of truth in Beys message.. she really and truly is a queen. It’s not just about her music, it’s her aura and how she carries herself, how she cancels out any noise and puts her energy into music gracefully.. her shift from the usual commercial sound was also a shock to me as well, but looking back at it now, I completely understand and agree with how she became more edgy. When you hit mainstream/commercial success and become at your peak in that lane.. then what’s next? She wanted more, and I don’t blame her! Her craft is meant to be something she loves and something to have fun with. This woman is well and truly a boss!
I agree! Great video! I wish MTV would do stuff like they used too lol!

Beyoncé was smart to include "Bow Down" on "Flawless". Self-Titled was a self-empowerment album yet vulnerable in some areas. Beyoncé stopped with the "we" and "all the women" or "Ladies" in her songs and started saying "I". That's why Self-Titled worked. This album was more personal, more experimentative, more about Beyoncé. People connected to how she was feeling on this album and that feeling of being connected to her continued with Lemonade. Her wanting to make music out of her norm is the best thing she's probably ever done. She can do whatever and we'll eat it up. She has us in the palm of her hands.

She definitely should’ve ended with the *Flawless switch up.

Lol. When Beyoncé said "bow down, bitches", what made people think she was talking to just women or trying to pull other women down? I don't understand people thinking that because a woman is all for women empowerment, they can't go toe to toe with other women or they have to hold hands and sing kumbaya with other women for the rest of their life. Beesh, I said women empowerment and liberation, not women infantilism. Beyoncé can hype herself up and ask B's to bow down and give her her flowers without her being a 'hypocrite'.
Beyoncé also said "male and female, they make no difference, I stop the world". So whatever sex you are, bow down, b*tches. Women are not the only ones that can be referred to as Bs.

Awesome job....great video 👏🏿
Excellent video!!!!
Beyonce explaining Bow Down, her voice was shaking. She was really emotional about that song. People need to understand their opinions sometimes bothers folk. I'm glad she learned over the years to not care what ppl say. 🐝
Beyonce never did anything to upset me, she's so kind hearted, minds her business, and is beautiful ❤️ when you grow up listening to every album she has come out with she's more then just your favorite singer...she's an icon, role model, and more. Her music brought me out of some dark times
@@lauaz3986 y’all weird 🤣worry about yourself
I mean… she’s a Virgo 🥰
very good analysis on this topic. Enjoyed the breakdown
I enjoyed your video sis!
I loved bow down, it was on repeat for weeks. It’s one of those songs that make you wanna get up and prove those people who doubt every single day wrong. I don’t think her intention was to be disrespectful, it was reminder to put some respect on her name and craft PERIOD.
To me that’s when she kicked everybody’s tail and then I remember drunk in love came out at around that time. I died and went to heaven haha!
Hit dogs was hollering😂
Exactly i think ppl took it too personal, I love it. She deserves to exhaust herself
oooor maybe she just thinks being humble is overrated and she really popping out now.. truuuue coloooors shining thruuuu...truuuue coloooors....lol
Maybe it just to take over in that ( arena) where bad ( girls ) reign supreme......maybe she want to be the queen of the queens ...lol......she got their attention huh........haha smart Virgo girl.
That’s what happens when we hold these high standards for people we look up to. Beyoncé is human. I love her explanation on why she put out the song. You can speak out for women empowerment and tell your haters to f* off at the same.
I loveddd her response! She’s truly an ARTIST
Yessss👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I kno thats right! 💯
yea ppl did too much lol its so funny reliving the roll out of this song again and how dramatic everyone was.
No, beyonce is a goddess, not human. Ask the beehive
I loved this video. Many established artists find themselves in this predicament after years of dominance and only the fittest survive. I really pray that Nicki will come back like Bey did asserting her dominance and demanding her respect not just with the music but with the numbers as well🕯🕯🕯🕯🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I wish this video was longer 😅 I could listen to you talk about the Queen B all day!!
I love Bow Down… Bey understood the assignment and got em talking and out of the comfortable Beyoncé zone . They were mad😂
Facts
Beyonce and Rihanna are both queens in their own right. Rihanna is a billionaire now so she definitely deserves respect for her work too... you don't get to billionaire status without being smart and working hard. They both deserve all the flowers. 🌼 🌻 🌸 🌹
True $tory
@@MemphisHottie Cut it out that's beehive conversation not for the public, there's room for everyone and everyone is a King or Queen at what THEY do. One Love.
Rhianna's is the facade, the same as Pdiddy and the Ciroc.
They're the face of it for the people behind it.
Beyonce's billions is hers.
@@MemphisHottie Y'all really love to disrespect Rih and its not cute. She is talented and can sing that's why to this day she's still charting without her dropping and album for 5 years now. There's no need to spread jealousy
@@MemphisHottie lol so what if she cant belt like whitney houston. Neither can Janet Jackson yet she is still viewed as "iconic" for whatever reason. Rihanna was and still is a breath of fresh air. Beyonce became "queen B" at a time were there were no other black female mainstream rnb artist who were pushed and supported as much as Beyonce was. meaning she had no competition for a veryyyy long time. The moment we finally get more black female artists who make it mainstream internationally she puts out Bow Down. Rihanna was unique with her own sound and style and the fact that she is able to be so versatile yet still remain original and true to herself is why people loved her outside of america. There are a lot of GREAT SINGERS who put out boring and repetitive music.
Dance 4 u was so timeless 🥰🥰😻 I love Beyoncé but her self tiled album and first album are probably my favs
This video is excellent Empressive and judging by the over 6k comments and 37k likes I'm not the only one who thinks so. BRAVO!!
Funny how all these industry singers criticized her for the song, but who was there for her when she was going through the industry hate and controversy?
Preach!

No one should look out for beyonce she already has her beyhive on her corner where was she when Mitchell’s Williams was being bullied by her own fans? Nowhere
Her man, JayZ. All them other women were jealous of that alone!
Everyone has their moods and we say things, posts things or, writes things based on the mood we wake up in. Beyoncé is human just like us!!
Exactly
Good video♥️ well done
First of all to hell with CZcams and it unsubscribing me from this channel. I had no idea but I’m glad this popped up on my feed. Empressive, love, you’ve done it again!!! I’m so excited to catch up!!!
Also, you mentioned “some people” a lot in this doc and don’t quote me but I’m pretty “those people” are ashy with a patchy case of traction alopecia coupled with the wobbliest set of knockedt knees.
Beyonce is so psychologically healthy! Her explanation of why she made it was perfect. Sometimes we get angry when people try us! We are human! And she truly was getting tried back then! Talking bout Beyonce fell off. TF! I was pissed on her behalf!
You're right about being psychologically healthy. But there's also nothing wrong with "falling off" either. Desperately trying to cling on to a title for too long is unhealthy...we cannot always be at the top of our game all the time. Some day Beyonce won't be up there anymore, and that's okay. It's life. The best sports players are replaced by younger and fitter ones over time. Nothing to look down on.
@@msontopoftheworld Of course! The point was people were trying to prematurely put her in the “fell off” category.
@@msontopoftheworld .... Michael Jackson dead but people still say he st the top it’s not about the person more of the music
@@msontopoftheworld I don’t think she cares about titles. I think at that time she was more concerned with just being successful. Today, she seems more relaxed and has even said she has nothing to prove. So I think she’s transitioning well into the phase of her life where the singles aren’t burning up the charts.
It’s so weird hearing this because from the outside looking in, it’s seemed like Beyoncé was that bitch who never missed. I mean career, family… just overall success! As I watch this, I’m like dang there were times when Beyoncé felt less, when Beyoncé was depressed, when Beyoncé needed to hype herself up to reclaim herself as this best!
Ikr i dont know what empress is talking about
Beyoncé don’t miss when it comes to her performances
Right ?
She shows you her weakness, when she's sad, and that's human in her documentaries.
