60 Year Old Aluminum Case Drill [Restoration]

This old tool restoration is an old Skil drill that belonged to my grandfather. This drill is a 1/2 inch Skil model 542C. The C on the Model indicates Canada. It was manufactured in 1961. I had to repair the electrical cord, and add a strain relief. I replaced the brushes in the motor and replaced the old hard grease that was in the head of the drill. The chuck was really stiff so I cleaned and oiled it and replaced the key that was broken off in the chuck.Then I cleaned, polished and painted the drill. Hopefully it will last many more years.
