Great snare. But I never liked Remo Controlled Sound on my Tama SLP classic maple snare drum. Too thin sounding for my taste. I change it to Aquarian texture coated reverse dot, and it is better. On medium tuning it's a ringy, but on the medium/high it is perfect.

Owned one of these years ago, and it could only sound good at the tuning you have it at, despite looking pretty...a real 1 dimensional drum quite sadly. Loud as hell though.
