@@mikeguliz old motocrosser here, just turned 51. Bought a 23 450R last August and it was turning out to be too much bike for me on the track and just felt so much more powerful and responsive than my trusty 04 which I had a lot of success with up to 09 when I stopped riding to raise a family. So now we are going to try this comeback again but this time on a 23 250R. I’d also like to check out trails and woods. As hard as I may try to chill on the track, I always end up pushing it. Hard to escape that competitive mindset on the track. Keep it on 2 wheels my friend!
That’s awesome Jason I don’t think I’m ever going to stop dirt biking. I go out in the trails and I see 75-year-olds having a good time but mind you there in a lot better shape than I am.👍
Hey have same bike i just strapped out my oil plug and cant get ot out is there any other way to drain oil out do you now thanks is there any other bolts under the shifter
Well what I would do is remove the oil filter, tip the bike to the drains as much as possible there’s probably gonna be some left in there then I would try to go in with a turkey baster and pull it out. Turkey baster‘s work pretty good for sucking oil out That’s what I would do I would give it a shot. And if that didn’t work, I would loosen the bottom bolts on the clutch cover tilt the bike and she should dream clutch cover his work carries pretty much all the oil. and if you don’t want to loosen any bolts which I wouldn’t want to loosen any bolts, especially on the clutch cover because it might leak I will just open the oil cap and tip the bike. It’s all the oil is drained. I would probably start off with opening the oil cap and tipping the bike over to drain the oil. Hope this helps you out. Hope it works out.👍
When I made the video it had about 25 hours now it’s got 38 and no never adjusted the valves doesn’t need it my third 450 4stroke never adjusted Valves took my 2014 to Honda once to have the valves adjusted after 50 hours and they told me they were fine did not need to be adjusted and they said if the bikes running fine starting fine you don’t need to adjust them every year like everybody says that’s not true
@@mikeguliz oh ok, ya i got a 2022 crf450r with 20 hours on it. I was out at glamis sand dunes it just stopped firing up. It cranks and everything but wont fire up. I changed the spark plug and still nothing……
That’s strange I would check spark and fuel and if you got both of those I would check the valves i’m sure if you’re running it really hard you might set off the valve adjustment but it’s never happened to me Wow that’s like an awesome place to go riding never been a little too far for me hope everything works out🤙
Awesome. Now I know how to do it, I just need a 450r, and I am all set.
Don’t worry you’ll do just fine with you’re DT😃
@@mikeguliz yeah man! getting a top end done and then we can ride
Awesome can’t wait let me know when you’re ready I think from here on out we’re going to be out every weekend did you get your trail pass yet👍

I ride a Lotta single trails. I’m pretty much a trail rider. Haven’t been on a track in years getting a little too old and too heavy.

Wow…That’s a very easy oil change to complete.. Nice👍🏼 Why did you get rid of the Tusk oil filter cover and go back to the stock cover?
The stock one when I remove it it just pops off goes in and out no problem the tusk gets stuckI gotta use a screwdriver and I’m scratching everything🤙
@@mikeguliz Ahhh ok. Yeah I wouldn’t like that either scratching everything to get that cover off. Good choice 🤙🏼
Thank you!
