I think they cage is a new version of the mansion. Hes got the bars to keep people out but people can see him know and hes starting to let the fans into his "mansion". The cage is in adaption of the mansion to conform to the life of a famous person

The cage was representing his safe room in his mansion that he doesnt let anyone in. But now his growing fanbase is forcing him to start opening the doors to the mansion and let people in. You can hear the door to the cage open at the end of the song which goes back to the verse where he stated "You think Im a problem when the door is locked, you should see me when the door is open."

This song is still the best live song experience I've ever witnessed. It was like an out of body experience jumping around and screaming the chorus!

Nate is telling the fans he Woke up in a cell. Then is asking his fans where am I at? So if you're a true fan of NF you would know when he says "Woke up in a cell" what he is really saying is "Woke up in pain." The keys are in his hands, so he can let him self out of the cell at anytime. So even though Nate is in pain, he himself holds the "key" to his own happiness, or healing. "Sing along to the pain Nate" ties that all together.

He keeps his emotions in and his “heart” locked inside a cage to protect himself. Then he starts letting fans in to take pics meaning letting fans in on his emotions. Personally I think the cars are throwbacks to the first intro where he says he don’t care if he’s nameless everyone is driving around aimless he knows where his lane is…. He chooses to show he’s so damn comfortable in his lane he will crawl out the car and sit on the roof, for me there is no other way to visualize that because as you learned he doesn’t do anything without meaning!

I believe the cage is another physical manifestation of his mind; you saw a literal house as his mansion before, now it's a caged and he locks himself in his own mind because he feels more comfortable. The fans coming in for pictures show that he lets people in (his fans) his own mind through his music. I believe the car scene is him working outside of his mind for a bit, but then he goes back in...eventually, he lets all of his fans in at one so that we're all joined together with him...in his head, in his music. You'll see another form of his mind later, a mobile version (the shopping cart)....pay attention in the song, The Search, as you'll see this same very cage in the background as he is off on a search but he still show his "house."

7:05 Nah, it's a fake smile. Represents the "fake smile" face that everybody puts on it public, acting like everything is OK and they don't have any problems. There is symbolism and stuff in most of the imagery that Nate uses. He is a true artist, not just musically.
"taking pictures with people inside the cage" - the representation/meaning behind is that he is living in the mansion(his mind) and instead of going out to take pictures with fans, he basically let them inside his "mansion"(his head/"music thats personal")...i personally have adhd, bpd(borderline personality disorder), bipolar2, deppression and anxiety and a mild form of ocd and autism(asperger)...he has ocd, add, anxiety...thats why his music is personal...hope it helps xD
