If your Franke Olympus Kitchen Mixer mono tap is leaking around the neck (where the spout joins the tap body) then its time to replace the O Rings inside of the swivelling spout. Watch our Quick Tutorial, step by step guide on how to remove the spout and change the seals / rubber washers.
The O'ring kit is known by original part number 1425R or SP1425. Please note the Screw supplied will not fit the "G" model (identifiable by the red and blue colour markers on the levers) or Pre 2007 models so be sure to keep your old screw.
Please note some Franke Olympus taps have 4 components (some have an extra white plastic part)
Parts and instructions also same for Franke Basel tap.
Franke Olympus Silk Steel, S, G, Filterflow, Spring, U Spout, leaking at base.
How do I remove the spout and replace the o'rings inside the spout?
Use 2.5mm allen key to undo grub screw at the back holding the spout in place. pull spout up and out of the tap body. Watch our how to video.

When reassembling, it doesn’t mention the need to ensure the grub screw is located in the split of the white PTFE ring otherwise the spout cannot move. Supplier has been advised.

Great video - I wouldn't have known where to start to get the spout off. However, when putting the spout back on, the white plastic circlip has to be rotated with its gap at the back of the tap body so that when the retainer screw is reinserted, it locates in the gap and doesn't damage the circlip and prevent the spout from rotating.

If o-ring and washers are not available, use teflon tape instead. A few rounds will make it tight.

I got 2 plastic PTFE rings in the kit but there is only 1 on the base of the spout and I am not sure where the smaller PTFE ring goes. Also spout Leaks again after a number of days of replacing top O ring. Any suggestions pls.

Does anyone please know what size allen key bit is needed to carry out this repair on a pre 2007 Franke Olympus tap? I've bought this reapir kit and a 2.5mm WILL fit into the grub screw provided but it won't fit into the screw on the back of my tap. :(

My basin mixer tap is a Franke Olympus tap and recently started leaking from Spout.
I have purchased the replacement O ring parts but I am unable to unscrew it and cannot remove the Spout.
Also, the tap is dripping So I tried to remove the handle and look into the cartridge if it needs to be replaced. But when I removed its screw the stiffed cold handle and the cover of the cartridge does not move clockwise or anti-clockwise at all.
Any idea of how to loosen it and which tool can unscrew it without a scratch or denting it.
    Regards
    Ali

With the kit I bought there are 2 plastic bearing clips. In this video there is apparently only one, the larger one which goes to the base of the spout with the gap in the clip aligned with the screw hole.
Can you advise as to exactly where the smaller clip fits? Is it just above or just below the smaller rubber o’ring seal? Thanks.

Hi how do I take off a tap that doesn’t have a screw at the back please? Have tried turning 90 degrees and pulling up but no joy. Thanks.

Hi this wont be an Olympus but if your tap model has no screw then there will be a collar/nut at the base of the stem that will unscrew. Feel free to email us directly sales@tapmagician.co.uk with a photo of your tap.

When i took my spout out I found there was a ring of lubricant grease inside which I wiped off thinking it was dirt, and now the spout can only be moved slowly, does anyone know what kind of grease that is?

I've just done this replacement and on my Franke version of taps (Wave) you DON'T need the grub screw to fit in the gap in the white ring. The grub screw fits into a recess in the metal body of the spout instead. This stops the spout coming out without removing the screw. I spent AGES trying to line up the gap in the white ring only to find that you don't need to...!
