Got a new Aeron from my job replaced the seatpan put new wheels roller blade style new lift and adjustable back support and its lovely as brand new ended up paying a total of 228 bucks to get it up to snuff!

I really liked this video! I picked up a mesh office chair valued at $300 from my former place of work for $5, three years ago. Only had wear on the arm rests but nothing some good arm rest covers couldn't solve. I love this chair! 👍

I still have a hyken mesh which i bought around 3 years ago, still looks new and hasn't stretched much, really cant go wrong with hyken i paid at the time 160$ with extended warranty.

My computer chair has been serving me well since 1998. Of course, I don't use it very much since I got a laptop I use on a TV tray in front of my recliner.
Bought a used Aeron for around $200 just before lock-downs. Dusted it off and it looked and functioned like new. Marketplace and other used platforms are great for chair hunting.
Danny, great video!! I have 2 mesh chairs also. I could not find any mesh chairs used in my area so I bought both of them from staples and paid about $300 for both. They are my first mesh chairs and I love them. Much better than the $400 gamer chair that I had that only lasted a year and a half.
Hi Danny me and my girlfriend are in the process of moving into our home and she is able to go remote and I’ve been watching you for a long time now and this definitely helped me out I know she is gonna need a chair for her work and I’m definitely gonna keep my eye out on the market places for fixable/ cheaper office chairs that need some TLC thank you for sharing you adventures!
Folding camping chairs also work decently as spectator seats for hosting people.
Also can't recommend enough changing the stock wheels on office chairs to rollerblade style, it's about 20 bucks but worth it as they don't get stuck the standard wheels tend to from getting dirty, easy to change out too.

my chair is a passenger seat from a 2002 Buick Century right hand recline and lumbar support :) headrest and cheap.. also wanna use the driver seat for a racing sim once the step kid gets her place :)

I picked up a second hand chair from a Goodwill in Canada for $15 with lots of comfy foam padding. Lasted 10 years doing double duty as a cat scratching post.
Even as just a scratching post, $15 Canadian for one that lasted 10 years is a bargain. And it was often a cat bed as well.
Would still have it but had to move from Toronto to Kelowna BC had to leave it behind.

I never really thought about it but ive never bought a brand new office chair for myself haha. The current one im using isn't as nice as those two, but its comfortable and looks nice. I got if from goodwill for $20 i think.

I got a Body Built heavy duty for free once. One of the arms needed some glue and tape, but, it was the best chair ever. I am looking for another one now.

I have a Kinnarps Plus chair. Got it for free with the matching riser desk from when I worked at a corporate moving company. The combo is worth almost 2k. Found a Herman Miller Aeron at a Goodwill bins a few months back and instantly sold it on fb market for the hi.
magic eraser can get the marks off the plastics, and also any other marks you have around the house. i use magic eraser for finishing touches and restorations.

I got the DXRacer T530 Tank series cloth and put a purple ultimate seat pad on top of it. Paid $600 for the chair back in 2020 and it's still going strong.
I literally have the same chair you have as your main. even after 4 years for less than $150 still going strong.
Excellent money saving tips. I use a recliner couch with the PC hooked up to the 4k TV in my cave.
I always keep a sheet on my chair, couse during summer time you sweat a pool.
And kinda easy to clean, just chance the sheet once a month.
i find chairs all the time. i found an allure chair and a herman miller. the miller needed a new seat and the allure needed some paint cat prints cleaned as well as a wheel. 2 multi hundred dollar chairs for a fraction of the price and bit of effort
Just helped a client upgrade their router and on the way out the door was given a free chair in perfect condition that my Wife is now using at her art desk. My office chair cost nearly $300 and it wasn't even a year before the padding started sinking, the gas cylinder stopped staying up, and the arm rests started peeling.
Crazy, I have that same air duster for almost 10 years now or something like that. Never found it again on amazon and it still works great. Checked just now, and there's a red version but not the green version, also I paid like 50USD at the time for it.
I got real lucky. Found a Steelcase Amia office chair for $15($700-900 new) for my daughter at Goodwill. Aside from use, no noticeable "wear and tear". And, some parts are replaceable from website.
used office depots.... life savers, can buy 100-200-300$+ office chairs for 20-80$, get in on a day chairs just came in, half the time theyll sell them to you before a sticker price is attached, i got a herman miller celle 4 years back for 60$ doing that

Free chairs are great, mine had been the secondary chair in a bowling alley so it had seen almost no use compared to the main one by the cash registry in TEN years (only one guy who runs the bowling alley). Dusted it off and it feels like brand new.
I have a sidiz t50 chair I got for 100 AUD used on FB marketplace, it's worth like 550 brand new so it's a pretty great deal to me and it's pretty comfy

I have a $500 Steelcase Leap v2, bought refurb, new goes for $1300. Definitely not a budget item but I’ve had back problems and wfh so it’s worth the cost. I can also resell it for almost the same price since this is a popular BIFL chair (similar to Herman Miller).
I'm from yakima and I don't even have a desk. My setup is my pc behind me on some adjustable metal shelves with a projector as the display. Display is 12ft and my chair is a two seater couch with center console. Love your context, please don't hack me.
I purchased a Herman Miller Sayl chair brand new for about £350 roughly 3 or 4 years ago. Definitely do not regret spending the money on it. I work from home and game a lot so as a daily driver, it's well worth the investment in my eyes. I can sit on it for ages with 0 discomfort

This was how i got my desk. Its a black and red desk with Z shaped base and fake carbon fiber top. Got it for $10 off marketplace. It has headset, cup and controller holders.
Great tips on buying used. Office chairs seem way overpriced new. I just got a Sihoo in really good condition for my desk at work for $30.

I got a used chair for 50 $ from a friend when he moved and it has served well enough its been over a year and a half and is only uncomfortable when I spend 6 to 8 hours editing videos in it
I got one of those horrible racing style gaming chairs... You know, the ones with the sides that make it impossible to sit comfortably in them if you shift about on chairs? Yea... Poor investment on my part. It's going strong after 3 years though, definitely going to get a basic mesh office chair for my next one though. Breathable, harder to break, no brainer really.

Here is a good tip, if the arm rests are worn out you can cover them with a sock or two and it works great. I covered my worn arm rests with socks and it's works well.

My chair is due for an upgrade and I'm literally 300 lbs and yes I know that's a lot of weight for a human but I'm trying lose some weight, but in the meantime I still have some generic Amazon gaming chair I had since my birthday if 2018 and it's kinda unconfy now so I just add a pillow on my chair.
In the future I would get a new one and I don't trust used one because the seller may or may not know the brand and model number of the chair and also the weight capacity of those chairs.
Just watch out with those when getting them used, because depending on the piston being filled with hydraulic oil or compressed air (the cheaper compressed air ones are the dangerous), if it is damaged a bit, it can shoot the inside steel rod up your as s in like a brink, and i'd hate to see you getting violated by a 30cm steel bar just for wanting to save a bit of money :D

I am so poor that my desk is 2 tv trays and sitting on the edge of a bed is my chair.
I would be careful with those cheap and free chairs though, as the previous owners might have had a bedbug infestation and are trying to get rid of furniture possibly containing a nest.
Find free or cheap desks or an old door someone is throwing out.

Hey man, you’re sitting in a staples chair.. you should buy protection plans it costs $20, they give you the $200 back… when you have a scratch tear anything happens literally a tiny scuff they give you what you paid for you’re chair back, I get you’re making content but I work at staples and have gotten every single protection plan back and gotten another chair, just a suggestion..

@@nerdonabudget unfortunately no, the first 2 weeks of owning the chair yes, just for future reference tho I highly recommend doing that, every chair in the future will cost $20 outta pocket for another protection plan
