This song was popular when my daughter was young. The kids all hung out at the skating rink and they sang the lyrics as "my wife is a highway and I want to ride her all night long"......kids.

As has been mentioned Tom Cochrane was the original artist of this song. Tom was also lead singer for Red Rider, who's hit song "Lunatic Fringe" is 🔥in case you didn't know.

the song was written and recorded in the early 1990's by Canadian singer-songwriter, Tom Cochran, inspired by a trip he took to east Africa with the Christian development organization, World Vision.
This has a nice melody and very catchy. Life is a highway, it has dips, turns, sidewinds, it goes up and down. What a great lesson.

The Tom Cochran original is MUCH better. it was also HUGE here in Canada as Cochran is a Canadian singer. The music video was on in heavy rotation on Much Music (the Canadian version of MTV)
