Dear Max I died while was younger and came back don't have any despair you will meet the souls you miss again sxx
Beautiful emotions - love it - got tears in my eyes " we are humans we have feelings " thank you Lex
So powerful and true. Made me cry and smile at the same time.
Got me so emotional... Never lose my parents 😭 peace and love from India
My thinking is they will live on thru the after life or reincarnation, and also thru you and your family . They never are truly gone , they exist in some form or another. God bless .
@@joshchurch785 beautifully written... I do agree ✌️never wanna lose my family
Max is an absolute powerhouse.
Thats why hus name is Max it means the mostest

Human consciousness must expand beyond materialism to evolve

The last minute of this. Thanks guys. Needed to hear that. My condolences Max, you spoke warmly and wonderfully about your parents. You’ve always been one of my favourite humans. You’re both wonderful people.
thank you for this interview I am in love with Max and his attitude towards life including the hardships that come with it, God bless this man and his family
Meaningful through transcendence. Thank you for sharing about such important things.
In Portuguese we have a saying 'Os cães ladram, a carruagem passa' - 'The dogs bark, the carriage goes on'.
Same in Poland

On his epic quest Gilgamesh was seeking immortality. In one sense he found it as his memory lives on in Poems and stories about his feats and life.
The name of the author who wrote the myths didn’t live on. It did it?
So touching
This man's pain and wisdom 🙏
Great clip! Thanks!
When we finally solve the mysteries of life and death, I hope the afterlife has WiFi so I can still watch Lex's podcast. 😇💻 #HeavenlyConnection
😆😆😆👍
They invented it and channeled it to us
Although we'll never solve it completely, we now know that consciousness exists outside of space-time. 3D space-time is a subset of a more fundamental reality. The work researchers have been doing over the past decades has be enlightening, particularly at places like The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Perceptual Studies (they have a massive website). So our birth, life and death are ultimately illusions, and our 3D space-time lives are routinely repeated many, many times - at different times and under different circumstances.
I find the best way to become immortal is to be an artist because you’re art either music or just a message of living life transcends through human history
Amazing book. I read it TWICE. highly recommended.
0:22 "Life, one-point-o is really dumb, like bacteria... " Imagine Christopher Walken saying this?
Thinking of you and your parents after listening. They live on through this podcast too ❤
What a lovely human being.
I'm not crying
I can see the possibility of my consciousness transcending into the future via reincarnation ( if it exists ) or via some technology . I do believe in we exist forever in some form , meaning possibly many lives or past , future or present lives.
Gratitude Leads to Happiness Acceptance Leads to Serenity
“You choose to be happy”
Being born with intelligence by nurturing and intelligent parents is something I do envy. I'm not a total moron but I have difficulty with basic math for example. It's shameful and embarrassing.
Struggle and stressing those networks in the brain and letting them rebound and not giving up will allow you to do most math you’d ever need
@@ilikedogs870 I've been meditating a lot. I'll keep trying.
Lex you'r a beast 😅😅
Is consciousness a form of energy and when we die does it change form of does it just cease to exist ?
That's the ultimate question, really. I think it does exist beyond brain death, but what form it takes and what we retain from this physical form is entirely unknown and likely unknowable in this life.
@@garymac5571 it doesn’t make sense though. We know that certain parts of the brain are responsible for certain functionalities that form consciousness. Looking at this from another angle - mentally handicapped people are handicapped because of some defects in how their brains function - if someone has limited consciousness from brith, does their consciousness stay limited after death?
It seems a bit too optimistic and unprovable to suggest that consciousness is something other than the product of a physical system
@@tgr5588 I may not be very knowledgeable about the subject but I'm fairly certain we can only know *if* a person is conscious or not and not what the quality of their seemingly limited consciousness actually is, right?
Yes
@@tgr5588your brain fine tunes experience so you can have a personal experience but it's not experience itself.
Aw, I like Max
Will AI be able to do this too?
I enjoy a lot the podcasts with Lex and especially the ones with Max & Nathalie... 🤗
Our material life on Earth is nothing special, it is just one part of our "double (dual) existence", here on Earth as an individual human with limited consciousness and all power on one focus: survive as long as possible in a difficult and often hostile world (which concerns more the past than the present and less developed world).
The other part of our "dual life" takes place after our death (and also before birth) as a spiritual community existence together with other souls (also called super-ego in philosophy/ psychology) without physical body and other limitations.
It`s a state of full awareness (or consciousness), with no survival issues, absolutely peaceful and carefree - many people with NDE (near death experiences) have described it exactly like this. But even this perfect state is temporary, because our soul has to survive the next material and independent "short-term life cycle" as determined with absolut authority by our karma (destiny), which is the organizing tool of life...
This is described in the Buddhist religion as reincarnation (rebirth) through a new material existence in one of 6 different natural environments (experienced as animal, human or plant) until reaching the "Nirvana" (the state of perfection and detachment) before we then enter the next higher "consciousness dimension" of our universe, which is a completely unknown territory for normal people without paranormal or spiritual experiences of consciousness...
The 'detachment' part of your comment rings true to me. As I travel through time I'm realizing my fondness for material things has weened. I grew up and lived in relative luxury in the Bay Area of California but moved across country a few years ago and left everything behind. By everything I mean a 10x20x15 storage unit packed to the gills from my previous 5 bedroom house. I don't miss any of it. I'm so ready to be free from material things.

I also experienced a very similar youth to yours and later freed myself from excessive wealth and finally broke out of the usual consumption system...
When fasting or meditating, you will certainly find that your consciousness changes to a calm, positive mood and you will then certainly place more value on a “ballast-free” present and future...
Even the wealthy neighbors with their restored royal palaces and the latest German sports cars, 6-door refrigerators, flat screen 76-inch TVs, cleaning and lawn mowing robots and all the other expensive affluent goods will then no longer make you feel sad and pile up with inferiority complexes...
Later you´ll feel like this nice song from Sting - "Free, free, I set me free"...
Now go and believe
WAY!
It would be more concerning if people did not care enough to complain.
A complacency with silence does not equate solemnity with tranquility.
You don't lose your parents, you gain them 😍
Like form follows function, math follows life....each as infinite at the other

Typical human. Lex is the man
Since there’s no mythological god, you only live on in peoples memories, stories, and writings.
This is standard Native American thinking.
Meaning it’s best to create beautiful things, memories, and emotions for the living to remember you by.
Believe that, the living will talk when you’re gone, the less people liked you the less they’ll remember you, and when they do it’ll be a reminder why they forgot you.
So yeah, let the people talk when your gone, too, just make them good things if you can, by staying balanced and centered on this slippery road called life. Only leaning to the right or left in an attempt to regain balance and not become and extremist.
we are made of light..we got back to the lights source
What is realty, a persistent illusion? Then why am I here?
If we are able to write something easy like point A and a point B on the palm of our hand and if we can successfully draw a line between them, we should certainly be aware that the line would consist an infinite number of points. Soo, if anyone of us is able to hold the Infinity in the palm of ones hand, than Jesus was right when he said that we are all gods. The only problem is that many people do not see that an infinite life (after death) would need to have an infinitely good and righteous leader, and we all know that there never was, is or will be a better candidate for such a role than Jesus.
I got nothing from this. Just rambling of words. Listening guys trying to put together the mystery’s of the universe is like trying to put together a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle with one piece.
Updating software is simply releasing limited beliefs and societal programming, allowing and experiencing with no judgement
i think anyone will be depressed by living their lives on a computer

almost correct but wrong: the closest thing to immortality is your children, and of course raising them well so they grow up and understand the value of having their own children
So, Max is a trans-humanist and this is a great idea.

When you die you go into nothingness
No sorry , Tegmark is so disappointing sometimes ... All the "we live in the memories of others" is just silly, will not be in 1000 years... all his ideas about AI ... this idea of "nature" as a sort of problem .... Seems to me he is a never grown up teen. A genius maybe but on a very limited array of things.
No such thing.
