A simple, yet tranquil, episode to break up the constant action. More on the way though while I can keep the momentum going. Enjoy!

And a nostalgia trip as well, regardless of the broken bases surrounding it.

I remember finding Harold on my first playthrough, such an interesting sidequest.

Finally a new video now I'm all caught up after binge watching over a years worth of content. Keep it up please. I hope you're going to do the DLCs after the maingame is done.

    • @StarMarshal
      @StarMarshal  Před 4 měsíci +2

I fully intend to keep pumping the content out so long as I have the free time to do so. Most likely going to play something else after the base game, but I will visit the dlc though. That I won't ignore.

That's good to hear. Are you planning on doing new Vegas?

@@BingoBongoBingerz that's probably going to be the most ambitious walkthrough since I intend on doing a character/walkthrough per major faction.

@@StarMarshalthat's going to great. But also very time consuming for you. I look forward to how you'll play through each faction though especially the Legion.

@@BingoBongoBingerz oh yeah because I will 100% them as well. No plan on doing it anytime soon, but I will make sure each walkthrough feels semi different with unique builds to each one.

I'm glad you chose the path you did for oasis. Any other option, ANY other option just feels unbearably cruel to me. I can play selfish, greedy, I can min max but..just being cruel for crueltys sake never sits right with me. This was the best choice :)

I swear that Linden guy gives you his outcast power armour but perhaps you has to keep Harold alive to be gifted it.

    • @StarMarshal
      @StarMarshal  Před 4 měsíci +4

You have to accelerate Harold's heart to get the armor and Poplar's hood.

Gear like that is still trivial if it means an old friend having to survive more of this.

I always found Linden to be the most practical and interesting of the bunch, but man I actually had a hard time with this quest as the kids appreciation for Harold as just another being made me want to convince him not to have me kill him.

@@StarMarshal In my opinion, some of the best fallout quests were the ones without action.
Modoc’s quest line in Fallout 2 is my favorite side quest in the whole anthology, and you don’t need to fire a single shot to complete it.
And episodes like this with your gameplay style are great!

Poor Harold was kinda hoping you would be able to talk to him before he dies also what was up that poor guy who just randomly died

    • @StarMarshal

Well, I exhausted all the dialogue before having to make a choice. That being said, he's actually okay with living if you spare him. However, I wanted the perk for higher DR, so he had to go.

A good soundtrack can really elevate it's respective video game or moments. This us one of those times. Hail to the glorius dead! May Harold find his friends in the beyond.

I felt like the tranquility of Oasis warranted the use of Modoc's theme from FO2.

Oh, the moment where a series veteran's opinions on this game may make or break positive reactions. Not that that matters, the Lone Wanderer needs that advice and help.
    What a coolio'd merchant.
3:04: Too good to be true.
3:24: Nothing vocal to report, just moving along with dialogue choices.
    4:06: I wouldn't have said that.
Amazing soundtrack choice for this place.
9:48: From before Har... "He" showed up, he means.
Elder Scrolls feels with the Ceremony?
12:30: Long time no see since Gecko of the Western Seaboard, *ghoul friend Harold* and Bob.
14:48: A familiar story all the way from Fallout 1.
15:24: The Master, that friend became.
Credit where it's due for this flawed game, I think they nailed Harold here. Painful to see the toll of immortality and the need to finally end it all, but it somehow makes all the more inevitable sense when you think about it, his long journey east aside.
Also, Stephen Russell (yes, Garrett and Karras from the Thief trilogy) does well voicing him here, even if he's not Charlie Adler (Harold's VA in Fallout 1 and 2).
I just wish the Treeminders like Tree Father Paul Eiding (no offense to the voice actor himself; besides, there's his occasional fellow Yuri Lowenthal being all around in New Vegas) are more fleshed out though so to markedly justify why not sacrificing Harold is also sensible, but what the heck, the Eastern Seaboard has such multi-dimensional folk be incapably rare. Granted, I do like them more than your companion Jericho.
24:49: You're too kind. Call them his Seamen!
26:18: This cutscene format was a surprise, considering this is just a sidequest.
One other good thing on clearing the cave will be giving those dead Treeminders proper burial rites.
54:40: Not doing this for the perk. Just out of goodwill for a friend of the olden days. May he go to Heaven and banter with Ian, Tandi, the Vault Dweller and their progeny Chosen One, the first two Dogmeats, and maybe even his old friend, cured from being the Master.
I was really surprised that no combat happened afterwards after doing the deed.
59:59: A given for all Fallout storylines, but no matter, they're relevant regardless.
Overall, thus ends a more than decent quest for an Eastern Seaboard Fallout game.
