TIPS for Reading JANE EYRE- Better Book Clubs

Here I am with my beat-up old copy of Jane Eyre to talk about what's still exciting about this literary classic. Once you've read it, follow up with Jean Rhys's Wide Sargasso Sea, which applies a post-colonial, feminist lens (circa 1966) to the novel and opens up another important line of discussion--a great literary pairing for book clubs willing to go the extra mile.

I’m currently reading this and I’m in 200 page mark. I have experienced the opposite. I found the first 100 pages to be more interesting and page turner than the next 100 pages at Thornfield. But I’ll keep reading!

@@BetterBookClubsjust want to say I’ve finished reading this and my experience didn’t change-the first 100 pages are the best for me. The rest is good (lots of beautiful passages and writing) but overall didn’t capture me. Thanks again for making this video! It helped me a lot.
