Everdream Valley - Let's Play Ep 1

- Let's begin a new adventure - join me as we sink into the lovely world of Everdream Valley! This episode I took my time exploring and getting a feel for things, in upcoming episodes we move along with the questing and get the details figured out.
Your chicken quest has a blue dot. There are blue dots on your mini map. Follow mini map to find quest items. You have to "refind" the chicken you already found and "deliver" it to the coop to count as quest.
Each quest has a color to it. Matching colored dots will appear on the mini map as well as a large yellow circle to show you the "zone" for the quest.
The hen you found before the quest was in the yard. You have to carry it outside the farm zone and return it to the coop, then deliver at coop for it to count. Chicken quest color changed to light blue so look for those color dots on your map.
no matter what I can't do this quest. game full of bugs which is a shame cause it has good style and could've been great

Yay! You DID figure it out. Gratz on understanding the quest tracking. Yes, I love the freedom, ease and open world atmosphere of this game.
Although the quests are prominent I have felt a lot more relaxed with the pace - the really long days might help that too.

Crops you find in the wild, you can harvest then dig them and plant them in your garden or use hoe to enlarge your garden. You will want those pease, cabbage and corn.
You can dig up and replant all crops, berry bushes and trees. LOTS of different fruit trees. Keep your a look out for them.
Ooops, you disassembled your storage chest in the barn.
I'm glad rebuying it fixed the situation but I was very surprised they would let me destroy something so important!

The wolves will attack if your away from farm at night. But, as you sleep each night, you will have "dreams"/mini gamrs. They are also part of your dreams.
I've jumped into a few mini-games in the future - they are so weird but a really neat contrast to the rest of the game!
This is a fun and adorable game. I am stuck at the beavers.
I was thinking about getting this game but I'm not sure. I'll watch the series and decide. It does look so cute!
It's very mellow - depends how much you want to noodle around on the farm vs working through the quests.
Cooking, its better to wait as Grandma gives you the recipes. Eat berries and fruit til you get recipes then use that "tab" to auto fill ingredients and cook. Also, just hold the cooking button and shoot to "release" when its in the "GREEN" area. It only takes 4 or 5 clicks to complete a meal.
I stopped making slop, don't worry! It took me a minute to get the cooking but like all the minigames in this game it's quite easy and pretty fair. None of them require too much in the way of reflexes fortunately.
Workbench is good for crafting things like fence and gate.
You will have to buy a chest from metchant to get other trees for the orchard out of your storage. You did a lot of exploring.
I saved up and got a big chest soon - was so relieved that my goods didn't just get jettisoned into the ether!

Sell trash to merchant and buy another storage chest.
When you pet an animal, it follows you for a short time. It is how you get missing farm animals that you can't pick up, back to the farm.
I have seriously never noticed that. I thought I was reading an Everdream Valley comment for a second. I've played infinite hours of this game and do not think I've ever realized they do that!
You will want some of you wood to stay logs for crafting. Don't make it all planks.
You can sell stuff to the vendor. He is the dude on your mini map with a hat.
I've come to know him well! Sometimes it's nice when a game only has one merchant.
I bought this and tried it out but something didn't really grab me. Cute, but maybe not entirely for me.
It has a very different pace from other games in this genre. There's a lot less direct questing that is required and the ability to just goof around for the first bit is pretty high. It's more relaxed, maybe. But then the quests start kicking in after a bit.
Well yes... nothing wrong with handing your 9-year-old city-raised grandson an axe and setting him to fixing up the old farm. Why teach him anything about safety?
Lazy gits. It took more than a year for a whole farm to fall so far into disrepair. Grandpa and Grandma have been "resting on their laurels" for a lot longer than a year for fences to fall down and so many bushes and trees to die off... and what farmer would leave the animals to fend for themselves while they go off to a spa for a YEAR? As for the "parents".... that's a contradiction in terms.
Having said that... the game is cute and is enjoyable to watch. I get motion sickness very easily, so there are times I have to look away... but I did manage to watch the whole video despite that.... so kudos to you for camera movement.
The setup is so weird, but they always seem to be! It's one of the more adorable games I've played in a while. There will definitely be some motion-sickness inducing butterfly catching/grinding in the future - but I tried to do a bunch of it all at once to get it over with. I'll try to keep remembering not to do too many whiplash pans back and forth!
@@hodgepodge I appreciate that. But I also have lived with this all my life. Even riding in the back seat of a vehicle is a problem... so I just sit up front (or ride with my eyes closed. LOL).
This is an issue with my parent and sibling as well, whenever we drive one of them somewhere I take the back seat.
