    Nice one. Will order one up for my 944. It's a cab so the sound will probably be lost anyway haha, but I like the idea of being able to receive Absolute Classic Rock and that the headunit matches the look of the car

      Did you end up installing in your 900? Considering upgrading the oem HK unit in my ‘97 9000 but the price is pretty steep. Curious about sound quality. Been using a cheap tape to Bluetooth adapter for streaming music which works well but produces some slight static noise with my new iPhone (didn’t with my previous Sony).

    For really good sound quality it's a pity it doesn't have a cd function. I know you can get good quality mp3 sound but it's still not of the same quality. A nice stereo but Alpine do similar retro style and have a great reputation for a lot less.

  • @miguelmanzanares7019

    Personally I love the retro look but IMO I think that's all it has going for. Features seem pretty standard on other blaupunkts units from what I seen. That 300/500usd
    is hard to justify for me at least. Knowing blaupunkt isn't what it used to be. But they did nail the look for the classic European car for sure. But features wise is meh.

      @Landie_Man Such a shame, but I am happy they reissued these retro models. I am mainly into 80's and 90's cars. I tempted to buy 3 of each just in case I need them for other cars I purchase in the future.

      @@andydhillon1977 nice one! I think we’d get on. My everyday car; 1988 Volvo 240 GLT has a Bremen DAB, my 1982 Bedford CF250 Flatbed truck has an old early 1980s mechanical buttoned cassette which I’ve hard wired an FM Bluetooth dongle into, my 1983 Triumph Acclaim CD has its original AM cassette with a Bluetooth wired in and my 1978 Land Rover Series III has a 70s Motorola

    I'm wondering if you can stream the audio (spotify..) using usb port with an Android Phone or only BT does work ?

    • @kaibogart8066
      @kaibogart8066 Před 3 lety

      I know this is super old. But I read somewhere that Bluetooth is only used for phone calls, not audio streaming. So you’d have to run an aux cord from the front or back or use a 32gb usb or connect your phone to the stereo via usb.

  • @videoaapje
    @videoaapje Před 3 lety +2

    Just wondering, isn’t the price for this a little high? As in, you’re paying for the retro look but not necessarily for the features? I mean, who really uses USB or SB nowadays when we have Spotify etc? You’d probably easily buy a radio with android auto or Apple CarPlay for the same money (lacking the retro look ofc).

    • @uktech
      @uktech  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, I actually have an Xtrons Android Headunit in one of my cars. It was approximately the same price. However out the box, the sound quality is not up to standard. I had to use a separate amp to get good sound quality from the Android Headunit. This Blaupunkt Headunit is specifically designed for the older, classic cars, keeping the "nostalgic look" and not looking too modern. The sound quality is great and it powers up 4 x Audison speakers without any issue.

    I just got one for my Volvo 240. However, the volume buttons feels kinda wobbly. It moves from side to side, like it's loose. Does your volume buttom feel the same or is it something wrong with my unit?

    • @uktech
      @uktech  Před 3 lety

      That could be a defect. The volume control on mine is fairly sturdy and there is no wobble. When you say that it moves from left to right, do you mean the whole cylindrical control feels loose?
