- We begin the journey down the Tennessee River from the "source" down to Fort Loudoun Dam.
We go through downtown Knoxville and see the views from the water as we paddle... Ijams, Calhoun's, Neyland Stadium, Thompson-Boling Arena and more!
We will hammock camp on the river along the way and do a bit of fishing as time allows.
very cool, ive come through Tennessee a couple times near the Tennessee river and couldnt help but want to paddle it! Maybe one of these days ill make it happen
Great vid! Great narration! Makes me want to get a yak of my own!
Thank you! There's a kayak for everyone, it is achievable access to fun!
This is so cool! Thanks for uploading!!
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
Let me know when you put get to scottsboro
Looks like you put in at Holston River Park
That's right, by Boyd Island.
It's just above the Forks so I paddle through the actual beginning of the Tennessee.
I'm doing the same this winter
You'll love it! Winter drawdown makes this trip much easier. Plus- no bugs!
12:35…fell off this bridge playing lost boys one night. Alcohol may have been involved.
Glad you're ok! Long fall!
Cool vid, but its " i ams" ijams
How feasible is it to kayak to Calhouns, for lunch?
Is there anyplace to get out, safely leave your kayak to eat lunch & get back on the water?
Calhoun's downtown might be a challenge, but Calhoun's in Lenoir City would be pretty easy.
I've brought a bicycle chain on trips when I know I'm going to want to leave my yak unattended.
It is pronounced "Iams". The "j" is silent.
Thank you!!!
Come to think of it I've never heard it pronounced out loud.
Being a Tennessee transplant from Michigan I still have a lot to learn. If you see anything else that would help me please let me know!
Where did you put in it?
I put in at Holston River Park by Boyd Island. There's a public launch there, good current pushing.
