This song contains both the hope of the future and the pain of great loss... especially that flute part breaks me to pieces every time. While listening, you imagine a peaceful world, but there is a huge emptiness inside that world. It makes you feel as if you would prefer chaos if that emptiness wasn't there, if your loss was still with you. You half smile, you half live... There couldn't be a better song about the end of Aot. I am heartbroken with this song... thank you to everyone who contributed...

I was 17 when this anime came out, I just graduated from high school and started studying IT. I remember vividly how much I was waiting for each episode to come out and how I started to lose hype as the episodes were taking so long. So many things happened these past 10 years. So much growth, so many memories, heartbreak, loss, and achievements. At 27 years of age, I've just finished my Master's and am working in IT living with my girlfriend. It's sad to realize I cannot anticipate another AOT episode. But I guess life goes on.

How much I loved Eren... I felt that this character had the greatest mystery within him, which made him despair. Throughout the entire anime, and especially at the end, he seemed endlessly lonely to me, as if he was not from this world, as if something remained in him that even his friends could not even imagine, as if he had come to terms with the fact that even his most people close to him will not understand him. He kept “it” within himself until the very end. He died unhappy and was left alone forever...

I think the vision of timelines and the fate of the world, paired with so much trauma broke his mind. He was shattered and confused, lost within so many versions of himself. He still managed to find a way for his friends and family to live out their lives in some bliss and thats as heroic as anything, even if it came about in such an awful way.

this show had been with me for 7 years, since i was in third grade until now, almost graduating high school. it has always been my escapism when i was a kid during times where my parents fought or weren’t present for me. It has always been there. Currently, i’ve changed a lot physically and mentally, just like how the characters in the anime developed. It felt like we’ve grown together. Now i feel like i lost something close to my heart. damn this emotionally wrecked me. I still cant beleive it ended. I still remmeber the days where third grade me was blabbering to my friends how good this show is and that i gotta wait for years for ss2 to release. damn this hits hard. Thank you attack on titan and isayama for playing a huge part in my life. You were one hell of an experience, the best one.

It's hard and I just can't able accept that AOT is no more and it's over now and forever. I never saw and I can never see something this level of media like Attack on Titan. I want to mention some scenes and the emotion and high I felt while watching those scenes but It will be spoiler for new ones and I don't to spoil anyone from my side. So, I'll just share my experience with AOT and how I felt after AOT ended. In my opinion AOT is the greteast fiction ever created and everything about AOT like story, screenplay, music, emotions, Philosophies etc., each and everything are something much much much more than just great and perfect that words are not enough to explain the feel of AOT 🔥 something we can't just simply describe with one single word and every time I watch a new episode from AOT I used to be very happy and satisfied and I used to get very excited for next upcoming episode because AOT never disappoints and whenever a new AOT episode used to drop Definitely I could say that the episode would be great and fantastic even before watching that episode. That's the level of perfection and excellence every episode has and every episode just sticks to the content and emotions never waste the time by showing some stupid and crappy fanservice scenes and I used to look forward for every upcoming episode with ultimate satisfaction given by previous episodes and I enjoyed from the bottom of my heart while watching all AOT Episodes. 2013-2023 will always be a golden decade just because of AOT. Those days were great when I used to see "To be Continued" with mind-blowing cliffhangers everytime but now this is very sad to think that I am now going to part the ways with my most favorite favorite media AOT and I cannot see any new episode from this materpiece anymore and watching "The End" instead of "To be Continued" is very Heartbreaking 💔. This makes me feel to go back to those days when I began to watch and started my journey with Attack on Titan. I genuinely and wholeheartedly thank Hajime Isayama (The Creator) Wit studios (Animators of Season-1,2,3) and Mappa (Animators of final season i.e., final season) and each and everyone those are involved to create and for giving this greatest show in the world "Attack on Titan" your work reached our hearts and remains in our hearts forever and we salute and dedicate our hearts to your work, your art, your creation and I will miss and remember AOT forever 🥺😭💔

My reading of the scene: To you, 20.000 years from now. This is the approximate English translation of the German lyrics of the end song. Regarding the meaning of that last scene with the boy and the dog, as I understand it, this scene, especially the boy with the dog, symbolizes that AOT primarily is written as a message for us. It shows that no matter how heavy and hopeless life may sometimes appear, due to war, climate problems, hatred, and futility, we must never forget that life is also beautiful. Precisely because, despite all the cruelty of existence, there is still room for friendship, love, happiness, and connection. While the scene demonstrates that cruelty will never fully disappear, it reminds us that we must continue to remember these lessons. That is the deeper meaning of the boy (us), walking in the tree of life - representing a way to connect to the founding titan, and therefore the memories of the AOT story.

I’m so glad they brought Linked Horizon back for the one final hurrah. Thematically it makes sense since the story ends essentially by saying “war will never end, so all we can do is love those we have now”. That being said though, from a massive music fan perspective, the fact that they close with the same voice that started it all, is just beautiful. I first found Attack on Titan because I heard Shoukei to Shikabane no Michu by linked horizon and decided to check the series out. Especially after not hearing them for a few years, them being the closer, particularly to me, really amped up the tears.

It was all born out of an extremely desperate desire to exercise his freedom, his freedom to get revenge, his freedom to fight, his freedom to keep going, and especially his freedom to protect others, all because he was special since the moment of his being born to the world, he did it for innumerous reasons all arising out of a single selfish desire that was just as much his birthright as it was anyone's else.
For his foretold future to change he would've had to overcome his own nature plain and simple. The problem is that he never tried once before, I mean why would he? In this uncertain world, where who knows what might happen, all of his convictions had brought him far, all he had to do was keep believing strongly in himself and everything would surely work out well right? No, it would only cost him more lives precious to him is what he found in those memories, memories that confirmed it was much too late to change his nature, too much had happened, the future and past of all those connected now made up his present, so he relied on the only conviction he had ever known in order to make sense of the mess, the one that had brought him thus far and that would bring him all the way to the very end, up until the very final memories deep within the unwinding connections and innumerous paths, the final memories of a 2,000 year long tale that would soon conclude, not knowing how, unable to see its conclusion.
In the end, he couldn't stop fighting and pushing on, especially not against his own contradictory nature and self, because in the end he was just an idiot like any other who was shackled by their dreams, ideals, and desires, by their convictions, yes, he most certainly was a slave to his freedom. And being a slave to anything, even to freedom, is something he couldn't stand for, and so if he was to ever truly get his desire and see his convictions through he would have to be willing to abandon much in order to truly change a single thing and disprove his own powerlessness. So he gave away that very same thing he always desired for and to those he treasured most, because he knew they would be the ones to conclude this story, this great bloody and horrific chapter in the greater tapestry of humanity.
As he said his selfish farewells and talked to them one last time within constructed realities of the freedom he would procure for them only to strip away those memories and return them only at the conclusion, except for the one he would be abandoning the most, he began to piece himself together is that small reprieve. Of course he didn't want die! Of course he didn't want to abandon anyone! Of course he wanted to live out his final remaining days with them no matter how short they were! But, even if he was now ready to change course, to really find another way by departing and abandoning his utmost desire, it was truly too late now, that sacrifice alone wouldn't be enough now, everything was already set into motion and well underway.
In that last memory deep within the realm in which neither life nor death existed, he gave her what she yearned most for, oh how he misunderstood her, I mean, how could someone love an idiot like him who was always charging ahead first? In those years he spent with her within that frozen realm, now more than ever was his resolve sharpened for the last time, and for the last time was his conviction made! Now more than ever would he exercise his freedom! By choosing to let his last breath be drawn, the world would at last be free to sever the accursed thread of that tale which began 2,000 years ago when a young girl committed a seemingly unimportant act of life, yet profound act of kindness, one that in the grand scheme of existence was unnecessary, but oh so important for those that would follow, for it spelled both their creation and destruction.
And so she followed suite, always eager to push ahead, to fight, to fight! And to always keep fighting on! All because of the purpose he gave her! She accepted the heart he gave up and in turn offered her own! As if to literally sever the accursed fate of that torturous past that haunted them, in return for the uncertain future of the world, she severed his head and held him in her hands as he drew his last breath before pressing a single solemn yet scarlet kiss upon his lips.
She had done it, with great torment and pain she had gone counter to her nature, no longer a slave herself, she had been set free, and so was he, that idiotic young boy who never gave up dreaming, that suicidal maniac that always charged ahead first, and that always kept pushing forwards, fighting until the very end. The tragedy of such a conclusion, of such selfless kindness all for the sake that uncertain and cruel, yet beautiful world moved that young girl who began this tale, undoing her shackles, and for once making a choice, for the hearts they had all given up, she would bring an end to the nightmarish and tormenting legacy of the last 2,000 years, setting herself free at last.
What remains is a cruel, and yet oh so beautiful world with a now uncertain future. For the time the world is at peace, the seasons pass, and nature reclaims, the heroes of the world savor their long lives until the very end, always dreaming, reaching for that horizon just out of reach, all in hopes of a timely resolution to the conflict, because that's just who they are, for the hearts they gave and the ones they were given, they must continue to believe strongly in themselves and in Humanity.
Humanity and life will march on, so there are most certainly new torments to come, but who knows? In this uncertain world anything could happen in the next 2,000 or perhaps 20,000 years from now. Just be sure to always remember the lessons of this cruel yet beautiful world; Tatakae! Tatakae! Shinzo wo Sasageyo!
