Tips:
• Every light, including the little round pod lights, give you $. Individually, they're not worth much, but an entire ship's worth can yield $60k on some of the bigger vessels.
• You can force push items while still grappling them. This lets you exert more control, since the item will try to go where you're pointing your reticule.
• When in scanner mode, you can left-click to activate different scan modes. This is helpful in letting you know if there's still valuable items you need to remove/cut out before you send a piece of the inner hull to the furnace. It also highlights those bonus items like the oxygen tank, so you can plan your teardown more thoroughly.
•The waffle-patterned sections of outer hull are pure aluminum, and go to the furnace. Usually, they're joined to some kind of nanocarbon strut, but you can cut the aluminum away from that for max profits(and an eventual sticker).

I've never lost, or gained, credits from the round lights; I'll get the confirmation sound if I barge them, and a negative tone if I process/burn them, but no discernable cash. Same with the power cells on the consoles.

@@georgea5991 You need to check your tally report at the end of shift. Those round lights _are_ counted, and at the same rate as the bar lights. They're just not announced during the shift itself. Same thing with the battery packs.

@@CarlGorn I think George is right on this one. I have tried sending the round lights into the barge, and there is no pop-up with value on them. I think value is calculated by type and weight, and the round lights don't actually have any weight. It is of course possible something has changed since then, but it has only been a few days.

@@henriknielsen6998 I know for a fact that he's wrong. You do the math, and the lights factor out to the price of a bar light, multiplied by the total number of lights salvaged. The tally makes no distinction between types of lights.
Not every item is calculated by weight.

I just got this game in April, love the challenge at the higher levels, dealing with explosive decompressions, coolant pipes, fuel pipes, temperamental reactors, radiation filters, and still-charged circuitry. Highly recommend.
