"Ayyyyy, you already know, Paapiiii!!"
The lip reading of the players has always been top notch. But when Jomboy lip reads the crowd, it's the cherry on top.
Speedy Gonzalez rides again!
Such a random thing to say. I wanna know the context and the conversation where this was relevant lol.
lmao, we all neeeded that lip read after the umps fucking it up. Good breakdown as per usual, needed the flair of humor as a stros fan at least
Popped my cherry 🍒 just hearing it
Yep, first thing I thought of is the lip reading is dead on!
Ive recently realized all baseball players sound like Jomboy. Weird coincidence?
ALL… same coincidence here 🤔
Maybe jomboy sounds like all baseball players?
Big if true
It's like you never see Superman and Clark Kent in the same room
That’s what happens when u cheat the game
“We have the technology to make sure this call is right, we should probably use it right?”
“Nah let’s just not”
But they had the technology to tell them what pitch was coming in 2017! Only thing is, although the Astros clearly cheated as a team in 2017, Correa told reporters that Altuve was disgusted by the cheating, and actually got mad when teammates tried to get him to cheat. So, actually Altuve may have been trying to win honestly, without cheating like the rest of the team. But the "don't tear my shirt" incident in 2019 is very suspic.
@@drbryant23 even the whistleblowers said Altuve was innocent
@itslife1399 I'd admonish him of guilt too if I could. He's one of the faces of the franchise. He was cheating. He knew they were cheating and didn't attempt to stop it. That makes you just as guilty. Just like AJ Hinch trying to say he didn't approve of it and tried to stop it. No, you're the manager of the team. It's your team. Put a stop to it. They all cheated. They all knew it was happening. They all likely took advantage of it. There's video evidence of Altuve at the plate where you can hear the banging.
@@ThorGodofThunder420 jesus christ bro that was in 2017 doesn't mean he should now 7 YEARS LAtTER have bullshit calls made against him and like the one smart person in this post pointed out he was one of the only players to not use the sign stealing. and on top of that , that year the Yankees got caught for basically doing the same thing this is also something a lot of teams do and get caught doing grow up and pull the bat out of your ass
@@itslife1399 your right people just wont admit it becuase they are wrong and there home team is trash
I'm more concerned about him teleporting at 2:59
You're a wizard, Jose.
Oh so that’s how the Astros actually cheated in 2017 Altuve was the one Astro that refused to the cheat because he was the cheating device with his magical powers 😂
@@CharlesMets Altuve controls the multiverse now. No matter how many different versions of 2017 you go to, the Astros win the World Series everytime.
Dude stops time so he can get the trajectory on his home runs right.
Isn't there another jomboy video breaking down someone teleporting like this? Am I crazy?
Love that you brought up it was the home plate umpire’s first ever game behind home plate. James Jean was his name and he called a great game getting every true strike correct, this play just kind of overshadowed it 😂
The umps were bad the whole series
@@carterpao waaaaaaaaa umps are human. deal with it.
@BobSchmidt that's fine. I can deal with it, I'm just saying that he didn't call a great game like you said
@@carterpao he called every TRUE strike correctly and had a +0.0 run favor for both teams which is extremely rare for an umpire, but yes I can still understand where you’re coming from with this play
And this really wasn't even his call. If he heard something, like a bat hitting a glove, or the ball hitting the foot square, he may be able to call that. But I downloaded audio of the play and put it into Audacity... it's just one blip, the bat hitting the ball. That, and the splash of dirt makes it real hard for first or third to make the call, too. This needs to be a reviewable play, and it isn't. Can't blame the umps for missing an almost impossible play to catch.
very interesting how the two broadcasts differed, great breakdown there Jimmy!
r/conspiracy
Astros broadcast is always from the pitchers pov
You found a way to make me root for the ump in one of these 😅
Dude the magic camera swap @2:58 tripped me out, just pay attention to the back ground lol he really focused on the player for that swap cause it was seamless
Holy shit lol I did not even notice until I went back. 🔥 Editing as usual.
damn I totally missed that hahaha
Yeah, that edit made me feel like I was having a stroke. Altuve didn't move a pixel, and yet the entire background was a new angle with no clipping.
A+ except for the impending death thoughts.
I had to watch it a few times to catch it 😂

It did hit his foot but it's really hard to see that in real time. I don't blame the umps on that one.
Although plays like that should totally be reviewable. No way an ump is seeing that in real time. This is why we have camera reviews, and the rules just say "You can't use it in half the situations".
i dont either but it should've been reviewable
@@ExpedientFalcon is there anything in baseball that shouldn't be reviewable?
What do you mean you don't blame the umps? Who do you blame? Altuve for getting hit???

Nobody told him you had to be a certain height to ride this ride😂
I'm not the biggest Altuve fan and the Astros will forever be my least favorite team, but I definitely believe it glanced off his foot. That is a tough call in a big spot I can understand why he's mad. Great video as always! Jomboy is GOAT sports media
Full speed, he’s out. Replay, hit his foot.
Yeah, even on the first couple views of the replay, it seems like that's just topspin changing the direction. But once you really pay attention, you can see the ball change flight path just before dirt contact. And Altuve's obviously gonna be mad, because he felt that hit his foot, so it's gotta be somewhere on replay.
However, he also knows that he and his entire team cheated and got a World Series* and a big hunk of metal for it, so he can't be that mad.
The way his foot popped back after the ball made contact is what sealed it for me
no, even in full speed it still hit his foot
It didn’t hit his foot tho
Full speed it his foot
The unps weren't the problem, mlb replay reviews are. Zero reason why this shouldn't be eligible for a replay review
If too many things are reviewable, the games would just become longer and boring. Just play the game.
@@J23LA24 I'd rather see correct calls rather than a player screwed over.
@@mikeh.8155 screwed over? He could’ve just manned up and kept playing. The game wasn’t over.
In the playoffs, yes, I agree. But in the regular season? Shit happens. Play on

@@mikeh.8155 there have been plenty more influential calls in a game that were missed. It happens.
I love to dump on the umps, but this one was way too hard to call in real time. The last angle does look like it hits the spikes of his cleats, but from every other angle it looks like it hit dirt. Can't put this one on the umps.
Haven’t been on your channel in a minute and so proud of you to have a sponsor like T Mobile and almost 2 mil subscribed 🎉 godbless 🤙

HBP, reviewable. Hit by foul ball off your bat, not reviewable. Both plays end in being hit by a ball but only one is reviewable. Makes sense lol.
I don’t know how CZcams knew I needed this but I’m glad. Thanks for the video!
Altuve: *feels ball hit his foot* Also Altuve: "How could you all not feel that hit my foot too?"

You can tell on the second angle, it definitely hit him.

I know I'm gonna sound like a lame little baby but I dig cutting out the f bombs. The ejection videos are always gonna obviously have profanity, duh. I have a little kindergarten kiddo so usually I either have to wait until later when I'm not in the same room as her or I'm just impatient and feel kindof bad while watching it right next to her. Today was one of those days that I decided to just watch it. And I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to feel guilty lol
I mean the lip readings are fantastic 💯 I can’t lip read to I’m glad yall do it for me haha
Altuve has only been ejected twice in his career - both times by umpire Alan Porter.
I mean, you scream and curse at an arbiter of the rules, ya get tossed. Interesting fact there though, like, does he act out more with this ump? Or does this ump just call him for it more? I don't know, interesting

Angle from the third baseline makes it seem like Altuves foot is out of the box. The box is there for this exact reason. It would’ve been a foul ball altogether if he was further back in the box. Just what it looks like from that angle
He wasn’t out of the box at any point. The umps never said it hit him so that wasn’t the issue. If they said it hit him they would have reversed it to a foul ball. They missed it and it happens.
He’s like what do you mean I can’t cheat!?? 😂😂😂

Altuve is a class and doesn’t argue. His reaction immediately was it hit him.
Read the title n laughed as I clicked. Not missing this 😂
WHAT A GREAT CALL! YOU'RE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB!
The ball made a sudden move forward before it hit the ground. That could only mean that it hit something on its way to the ground. The only thing it could possibly hit was his foot. I am NOT an Astros fan. I am a Rangers fan. Altuve was right. I think the ball hit the cleat that is below the ball of his foot. The side angle view makes it look like it didn't hit his foot, but that is because it hit the cleat and NOT the fabric, or upper of the shoe.
Benefit of hindsight and replay. No way to make this call in real time. I'm an ump myself and have no replays available. Not even 4 umps available.
Change of direction could also be induced by spin of the ball after hitting it. The majority of direction changes will be exactly that. Experience plays a big role in making such decisions.
@@TheKobiDror This should be a reviewable play. The ball is not going to make an abrupt change of direction, which would not be noticeable live, three inches above the ground. You are saying, "after hitting it". After hitting what? The only thing it can hit here is his foot. It IS NOT going to make that abrupt change of direction from the ball changing spin when the bat hits it. That is physically impossible.
@@DarrylAJones pitcher > bat > ground. That chain of events. I see the change of direction as well - in slow-motion replay. From the original footage you see bat contact, ball moving down and then jumping to fair territory. In real time: tell me you would make the correct call?! To quote many breakdowns: horsesh*t 😉
It should not be reviewable, cause then you can make balls/strikes reviewable.
And bro, don't take it personally. I have 15 years of ump experience and I didn't notice it in real time. Probably would have come to the same conclusion as them.
@@TheKobiDrorwhat I'd call is Altuve being illegally out of the box

As an umpire, this is one of the HARDEST calls to see. Regardless of their position. Home plate is almost guaranteed not to see it. The only ump that even has a chance to see that slight deflection is the 3B ump, but to overrule 3 other umpires on a play that is so slight a deflection is difficult. This is why THEY SHOULD EXPAND THE REVIEWABLE PLAYS. If they’re able to go to NY on this, they would see the foul ball clear as day.
yep, you are right on 👍👍👍
Don't you then have to trust the initial reaction of the hitter? They know what happened.
@@sirlawrencet sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. I've seen hitters act like the ball hit their foot when I KNOW for a fact it didn't... they know if they hit the ball down into the dirt they're going to be out regardless, may as well try to sell it off their foot. I once had a catcher do it (and I didn't buy it), and then when he came out on defense the next inning he apologized and said the coach makes them do it.

The ball hit Altuve's foot--not an opinion, a fact.
That's true, but from the umpire's position it is difficult to see it and for whatever reason, MLB doesn't want to review fair/foul calls on the infield.
