KAABO MANTIS Review - Most comfortable eScooter under 25kg?

- Hi and welcome to Wrong Way! Today we are featuring the KAABO Mantis Scooter! Similar to Techlife X7 or Zero 10X and Turbowheel Lighting but yes also different! Packing a 1350W (peak) power Single motor it might not be the fastest eScooter or even a fast Scooter but still it delivers in termos of ergonomics and comfort! It is also light at 24kg and packs the same size battery as a Speedway Mini 4 Pro (48V 13Ah). Charging time is 6-7 hrs and the range is around 25 km when driving over 25 km/h. It has awesome side lighting and is quite visible at night!

I have been asked about this scooter often - hopefully you will get a ton of hits on this video! Looking at it close up like this it really seems like a clone of the D2 frame. Probably a good thing that it is a single and not dual motor scooter. Great vid again man.
Great review! Mine just arrived 3 days ago. It looks amazing but haven't been ale to ride her yet thanks to the endless rain. Can't wait to get her on the road and give her a whirl!

It’s a lot of Scooter for the money and surprisingly quick for a single motor. Build quality is also good and as you said, really comfortable to ride !

Some advice for new owners, I have the 1500w GT single motor version. Take the time to tune the suspension. You may find if you are 80-90kg the rear kick plate and front yoke may hit the mudguards on compression. Don't worry, if it does, easy fix. Increase the suspension travel by moving the retaining bolt out 50% then accessing the Allen bolt underneath. You can also cut the mudguards in half as I did for the full range of travel. Also if you want a truly buttery ride, take both retaining bolts out and apply moly paste to the phosphor bronze inserts. Also clean and moly paste the top and bottom of the spring as paint flecks get ground up here. Do this for front and rear suspension. Finally add a small amount of silicone grease to the outside of the central rubber insert before reassembling. And the passcode for the controller P settings is 9221 but careful what you change. GT flies up the hills btw and wheelies :}

Great video! I was looking for a review of the lower end models.
The one sold in Israel is similar , but with 48/18 battery , improved rear mudguard and hydraulic zoom brakes. I am trying to decide if to go for the Mantis 10 , or just get the Ninebot G30 Max . Mantis is double the price, lacks IP rating , but obviously a faster and more comfortable ride.

I really want to buy Mantis GT/PRO (GT has only semihydrailulic brakes, pro has full hydraulic ones) with minimotors controlers and 60V/24,5 Ah Battery. This is small and light beast with great range. Sadlly it is not waterproof which could be problem. Looking forward for your review :). This one was great as ussual!

Hi wrong way :) I was really hoping to see a range test with this scooter, as i want to upgrade from my Ninebot-max! But want something with great range as i use it as my daily commuter, and i can get around 40 to 45km in distance with one charge of the Max. How bout the Kaabo bud?? Real world conditions i mean and on the S mode also :) lol.

Nice review!I have to look at powerful models,not because of their performance (really!) but because I'm a big,heavy guy despite being under 6"...Something like this would come in handy during lunch for the areas round my office which are also quite hilly.Wanna avoid using the car for that. :-o ;-)

Jeździłem dzisiaj takim (800W single motor) i wersja PRO, 2000W z hydrauliką i minimotors. Jednak w obu jest mały mankament, a mianowicie błotnik tylny jest ciągle 'dziobany' przez końcówkę footrest przy dołkach/krawężnikach lub gdy podskoczę na decku'u - a ważę niecałe 85 kg, nie jest to jakaś mega waga przecież. Obie spoko, ale ta 800 ma ciut za mało mocy pod górkę, i odrobinę za mały aku. - Hi I was riding this today and to my surprise, the footrest was punching the mudguard each time I jumped harder or rode on a whole , or bigger uneven ground. I tried this one and PRO - both had the same issue and my weight is 85kg. It says it supports 120 kg - how come?

Can you turn off the side LEDs? That's like asking the Police to take a closer look at the scooter which far exceeds the legal speed limit over here.

You can limit max speed in LCD settings (it takes 20 seconds to change it for me ).
If you like DIY, adding a button that only turns off the LCD would be very easy

I've seen a pic with a broken stem of a Mantis but did not know more about it
In my country Australia, there were 50 Mantis sold since November last year, there were recalls from the reseller on all 50 scooters but none of these scooters were faulty, the recall was a precautionary measure for the reported stem broken issue appeared in reddit, the fix was a bolt that can be fitted onto bottom of the stem free of charge. As for weak frame I have done 1100 km on it and minus some wear and tear and dust there is nothing wrong with the frame . The only complain I have against Kaabo is their failure to fit a bigger front light, that would help greatly for night riding, it also missing a bell.

Bro (or anyone with one)please explain to me how to cycle through the settings on this model for cruise control/ kmph/mph configuration etc pressing both buttons for 3 seconds does nothing but bring up the number 50 which is a constant and 4 numbers underneath I can change from 1-9 and the manual has no other explanation???

If that’s the lowest configuration it’ll have a 500w 48v rear motor and a 13000mah battery top speed of 45kph which is around 30mph

I have a mantis 10 DUO 18.2AH 60V scooter SN KBTL121120082331.
I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for these two black ESC's (controller boxes) but no one can help me so far.
Is there anyone here that could maybe supply me with a photo of how the connects are all set up? or a diagram or anything. I have tried the manufacturers and many stores.

Nice choice! Deoends on what you need...the cruiser has a bigger range and night be more comfortable. I did not ride the mini yet

It’s confusing to me. They’re both called Mantis. So Kaabo makes a Mantis and so does Fluidride? Different production locations? Weird. I own a Mantis Pro. It’s badass.

Mantis 8 eco has 18.2ah battery the dualtron mini is only 13ah so I'd say the Mantis

I think it is limited when you buy it, like most other (techlife) but removing the limit is very, very easy just change the config params on using the attached display.
With 25km/h limit though you will get way better range.
Also will help with hills, even if you can only go 25, the excess power would make it self known. This is why I'm searching for a scooter that can get me home up a mountain!

I opona za 8 dych na wyjebanie a potem żebranie od ludzi piniondzuf. Oficjalna chinska strona kaabo nic nie mowi o modelu GT, zaden chinski sklep nie wie o modelu GT, nawet Aliexpress. Z kąd jeden przydrogi cebulowy sklep to wziął tego to ja nie wiem O_O
