In this vlog I'm taking you with me as I pick up a set of chairs I've been looking for for a long time! And I stop at a new brocante on my way there. Hope you enjoy this one!

I just discovered this today by accident. Everything in your kitchen is to my taste, even the colors. The brocante was the cleanest I have ever seen and looked interesting. I nearly fainted at the display of the pastries, more varied than any display I have seen in Paris and far less....2.30E is incredible. There were so many---they must sure have a lot of customers if they can sell them out quickly. I look forward to seeing your other vlogs and am a die-hard Francophile. What a relief not to have to endure the endless gushing comments from narcissists in other, not-to-be-mentioned vlogs about life in France. This was all so charming, merci.
I know!! The patisseries were so much better priced than in the cities I normally go to! And they were absolutely delicious!
It was nothing but sheer pleasure going along to the Brocante with you! As you walked along, I pictured myself pouring over the treasures as if I owned a French Chateau myself. I have had a love for French pottery for a long time, especially the cobalt and white pieces. I drooled as you passed those pieces and even reversed the video to see them again. I also love grandfather clocks and other time pieces. The slim clock at the top of the stairs caught my eye. Gorgeous! Although this is my first video on your channel, I know it won't be my last. You have earned a new subscriber from California, USA. Thank you for making my day!

I liked to Brocante very much. The items were displayed creatively and clean. The prices seemed good. Ohhhh and the bakery with all the beautiful French pastry’s. You did such incredible video shots so I got a good look and picked out all of my favorites Good luck to you and your family with obtaining gas 🙏 We love rural France and hope to stay in your cabin one day soon. très belles chaises ! finalement tout s'est arrangé avec ce magasin qui a décalé ses horaires, oui cela arrive souvent sur internet si la magasin n'est pas vigilant ou l'utilisateur (car on peut le modifier pour informer les autres personnes). Ce magasin avait des objets intéressants ! Belle balade dans la campagne française ! Merci du partage
I sell at flea markets here in the USA, too, from time to time. The thrill of the hunt is the funnest thing I've ever done! So addicting! Unfortunately, many of the flea markets have gone more towards used clothing and shoes...contemporary styles...and other household/construction/farming supplies. Not many of the "vintage" or antique markets unless for special occasions.
I love the two blue and white large soup tureens in the brocante. I can’t wait to fill my house with beautiful brocante and Emmaus treasures when I move to France.🇫🇷

Please don’t worry about household noises or family members walking through the shots when you are making your videos. I imagine that I am not the only person who wants to see what real French Country “Family” Life is like. Loved the drive on the country roads AND that you zoomed in on the beautiful quote by our late President Mandela! Those pastries look like works of art! Loved your brocante video, we visited that brocante about two weeks later, we were so excited to see a few of the things we bought. We were looking for colour regardless of age. We have a house near Sanvignes les Mines a bit further south than you on the other side of the motorway. Loved seeing our scenery through your eyes. My mother and I have now started watching out for your videos. Love it.

A kitchen tip :) To take the core out of a lettuce or kale
Slam the lettuce/Kale with the core pointing down onto the bench
The core will be pushed in and then just pull the core out

I restore Mid Century and leather furniture and I am restoring 4 Czech Bentwood chairs exactly like yours !!! MIne have that floral pattern as well. Someone painted a awful poo colour so I in the process of stripping 3 coats back. Then I will stain and varnish the timber pattern seat and repaint the bentwood frames in a Japanese black. Here in Victoria Australia a set of 4 bentwood chairs would sell for $200-300 and 6 chairs a easy $500+ :)))))

It's the same here in Mexico, you cannot trust the internet for times when a store will be open.
One thing I love about the roads and little towns you drive thru is there is so little traffic! It seems you get a lot of rain. Is that typical for all of France?
France knows many different climats depending on the region. We are actually supposed to get a lot more rain overall in France and in our region as well than we have in recent years unfortunately and it is catastrophic for nature... It doesn't rain an awful lot here historically, but we have had horrible droughts in the past years and so far this year isn't much better so to be honest I am very happy that at least this April and May so far have been less hot and seem to have a little more rain. If you're interested in learning about the different climats (for example before booking a holiday destination in France :) ) it is quite easy to find that info online on Google.

Chairs are perfect anywhere. Classically French. Do the Danish cheese sandwiches get grilled?
We eat them like this, or sometimes we grill them! At least that’s how we Dutch people do, can’t tell for the Danish 😉😉
@@FrenchCountryLife sorry Dutch, of course. My stepfather is Dutch, as a boy he lived in Indonesia when it was a Dutch colony. He showed us how to make Rijsttsfel; very delicious. His entire family fled to the U.S. when the Japanese invaded Indonesia during WWII.
