Cutting up a Fabulous book of Brahms! Sacrilege!! Love the beads, but have you no respect for the World's famous composers?? Craft pales in comparison to their genius. Same applies to the great dress patterns of 20yrs ago - and BOOKS!! Some of us grew up with all those things - and gee, life was so much better back then.
I agree that craft pales in comparison to their genius. However I am not cutting up the man or his compositions. I am cutting up paper that I found in the free section of the thrift store, along with other items that were going to be put in the bin in no-one picks it up. Not sure what I should do with it. Frame it? Sell it? Open a museum? I see there are a lot of them for sale on Ebay. Now with the great dress patterns of 20 years ago - that was the 2000s... I definitely don't see that as sacrilege. In terms of books - give your local library a call and ask how many books they destroy a year. Go to a thrift store and ask them. I was in an second hand shop just the other day, and the lady was taking books OFF the shelf. She said, "its so sad that no one is buying books anymore, and we have to get rid of books". I think they should give them out for free. But its 'against the policy'. So, what do they do? They throw them out as rubbish together with all the other stuff they can't sell. The books don't even get recycled! Now that is something I would get riled up about. And when was life better? When women couldn't vote? When their place was in the kitchen? At least they weren't cutting up a fabulous book of Brahms, I suppose.
@TreasureBooks well said...but just ignor the haters...they are the first to jump on their " soap box" ( talk about stepping back in time lol)... at 75 I had problems tearing my first book page but as I get them the same way you do I feel they are being given a new lease on their life instead of it being destroyed.... keep up the great work..
@@TreasureBooks LOL love your response, you didn't cut up the man. I have the complete opposite opinion from susane. When I make something cool out of a damaged old linen or a faling apart book I think I am saving it and giving it a new life.
@@TreasureBooksI have seen the same thing! Taking books off the shelves, tearing off the covers only to be trashed. When I asked why can’t they be donated or SOMETHING, they said they’re not allowed. It’s a shame!
@susane945... serious? OMG go somewhere and read your books. I promise nobody is coming for your precious. I am simply appalled you would waste the time to post such a negative post. Just WOW
Fun! A tip is to wax or varnish the skewer first. They come off much easier.
Great tip! Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks for the tip. 😁
Thanks for the tip of 💗
I was JUST wondering if a bit of bees 🐝 wax would help ease the bead off the skewer, too. Thank you so much for sharing! 🥰
Thanks for the tip
I wanted to let you know, before I even watch this, that when I see a new Treasure Books videos on my list, I have an internal sigh of contentment because I know I'm about to enjoy whatever you've presented.
Awww thank you so much, this made me really happy :)
Me too!!!! I don’t want any interruptions! And all her videos show crafting made with simple things I already have! I love her! Rosie🦋
@@rosieandbriansteepleton1062 I love her also. And when she does a more detailed project - I love the little step-by -step list of instructions. Natasha you’re my fav!
Me too! Natasa you are my definite FAVOURITE! Plus I think your European roots contribute to the way your mind works, like being so pained to throw things away. I’ve gotten that through my Polish roots too. I’ve been like that my whole life. Instead of throwing things away, it’s, “what can I make out of this??” Only YOU have the magnificent talent to help me with that! THANK YOU!! For ALL your videos! And for you being YOU! (Sorry so sappy).
I love her voice, it's so soothing, and the ideas are always fabulous!
*I love collecting cheap costume jewelry from thrift stores for stuff like this and for making earrings. Thank you somuch for sharing with us.*
Best paper bead instruction I’ve seen. 2023❤️
I have a large stash of paper beads, and many precut strips. Recently I made a basket out of my beads for my craft table to keep items in as I work on different projects. Looks pretty neat. Good to have creative things around you as you are planning new ideas. Maps also make cool beads. :)
How do you make a basket with your paper beads?
@@diananighswonger441 I made square beads with flattened paper tubes. I wrapped them around the bottom of a squared nail polish bottle to keep the same in size. When dried, I used a piece of cardboard for the bottom, and hot glued them together, with spaces in between each square. Alternating spaces with each row. When I was finished with this, I used thin copper wire and hung small paper beads in each hole. It looks cool, but it was tedious and took a long time. Good luck. God bless.
Thank you for explaining. I just found this email. I don't usually look in my Gmail one. Bless u. Merry Christmas.
@@diananighswonger441 Merry Christmas!!
Thank you for your informative video. Can I use this with fabric
Natasha! You blow my mind! I’ve collected old jewelry for years….. who would have dreamed I was sitting on a gold mine!! This video was such an eye opener for me. I love this idea, for key chains, for bookmarks, for hat bands, and on and on and on!! I love your brain!!❤❤❤
I’m 60 years old and I used to make them as a child and sell them at a flea market. So fun to remember. Thank you!
I used to make these with my grandmother when I was a child! It was 1978... My favorite babysitting date with her! 💕 😇
I especially love the beads being threaded onto pieces of fabric, lace and ribbon. That way I would place them on anything. Especially on jars.
The jar is a great idea
It's been a few years since I made paper beads.
Watching this has given me the "paper bead bug" again.
They are gorgeous!
Yes I've also got a paper bead bug again, after not making any for 5 years or so :)
Me too 😇
The bug is real 😊
You have a 2017 calendar because you are a craft’s person! We never throw good stuff out! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
So true!
Love this video and your projects! Especially love the paper beads on your journal spines!
Thank you 🤗
Love all your ideas! Love the thorough explanations of how to do the project and that you even show things that don't work. There are lessons even in that. You have teaching in your bones! ❣
Thanks so much Rosanne!
I made beads like this when I was a child in the 1950s. I love them. Adding the sparkles is a good idea too.
Your beads would look great in macrame plant hangers, or even decorative window strings, draped from a corner. I like making beaded necklaces on large pots, or other ceramic pots or jars. Nice work, lady.
I wore a paper bead bracelet last week! I will make some using calendar pages-great idea!
I remember making paper beads this way when I was a child, and I’m just as enthralled by it nearly 60 years on !! Thank you for reminding me of this lovely craft 😊x
I just love making those paper beads Natasha! I’ll try the calendars. Excellent idea! I sew a lot and have made cloth beads with colorful scrapes. Sometimes I finish them off with embroidery thread and eyelash ribbon wrapped around, final touch ‘sparkle nail polish ‘ ps. Love your broken jewelry box!
I love the idea of embroidery thread and the eyelash ribbon. I did something like that in my fabric beads video :)
That is so perfect for my daughters and I to do together on rainy days. They are into the Boho effect now in their lives and this is a great addition to that kind of creativity. Thank you again for the inspiration. Maybe bedside lamps with beads as trim and ribbons... Love ALL of your beautiful skills and kindness for sharing it with us.
I wanted to make some beads but was going to look on here how to do it. Thanks for showing us. I would rather learn from you !! I so enjoy watching you !! You are a great teacher & you make me chuckle at times !!!
I only started making paper beads last winter. I love them too. I used glitter polish from the dollar store and it works great. I'm very glad you did this video because you always have such fresh new ideas. Glad you are feeling better and hope you are back to 100% quickly. Thanks Natasha. 💕
Thank you so much :)
Paper beading is addictive
I made paper beads years ago with my class of 8th graders to show recycling. I wish I thought to turn them into book bag charms. Love the ideas you shared. I'm going to be traveling soon and will take a small supply box to make some on the way! Thank you for another fabulous video!
I thought they'd be great for travelling too.
I’m inspired- once again by one of your tutorials! About a year ago I made some paper beads and used Diamond Glaze on them. I love the glitter nail polish with extra glitter. And I I’ve how you made the tassels with eyelash trim and a varied supply of lace, string, and chain. Ive also watched a video where another artist wrapped the eyelash trim around the bead. Thanks for another great and motivating tutorial.
I immediately took out my stuff and made a couple 😆 It is such a nice thing to do to keep your hands buisy. Especially if you do the "boring" cutting first and then just roll them. Thank you so much for this reminder!
I remember making paper beads years ago ..and using them to make necklaces. It's so much fun to use different papers, wall paper , and things you show. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for watching :)
Beautiful! Thank you for reminding me about paper beads. I had necklace of multiple strands of paper beads over 60 years ago, so you are right - they are timeless! And sealing them with glitter nail polish is a great idea. You’ve inspired me to make some to decorate my journals. Thanks!
60 years ago!!!! And here I am saying that people were making them 10 years ago hahah
I've never tried making paper beads before, even though it's something I'd like to do, but I'm definitely going to make some now after watching this fab video. They are just so beautiful, quite different to others I've seen previously, and such an inspiration. I love the use of glitter nail polish too. They are so luxurious. I'm excited! :)
Yes, paper beads will never go out of style 👍 yours turned out great and motivated me to go look at my jewelry stash and get out my stash of paper beads. Love all your videos so inspiring❤️
When I first discovered you a year ago, the fabric bead tutorial was one of my favorites!! This one is awesome..I love the calendar idea!! Your beaded spine journal was very intimidating as it was only my third time in creating a book. Absolutely love the serenity of bead making and thank you bunches for sharing the new techniques and embellishment ideas!!🥰
I'm glad you like it :) thank you for watching :)
I love everything you made. I am inspired. The beads are so pretty, and I love the use of the old jewelry. I have all these things, even an old calendar, now I must get busy. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much! Have fun :)
I was looking for a new hobby. I've made them before. Now I know what I can do to keep busy. Thanks for the ideas. I was trying to think of something simple to do. Now I know. I have lots of paper.
Awesome!! Have fun 😊
You should
I loved watching this. I made these as a child, this makes me want to make some of these with my kiddos. Yours have turned out beautifully and they look amazing on your journals. You have a true gift for piecing things together and elevating them to the next level. After this video, I’m heading over to watch your fabric bead video
Thank you so much for this video. I used to make paper beads maybe 30 years ago. But I had totally forgot how and I am so excited to be using calendar pages as I'm always collecting calendars. I'm not a glitter person but I think I will put fingernail polish on them because I like that look of being finished. I do have Micah spray that I make and I might try spraying that on them also. I'm so excited to give this a try and we'll take you on Instagram when I do
Wonderful! Have fun Judie :)
Glad you are feeling better. These beads are so beautiful. I’ve never actually made paper beads. I’m definitely gonna give it a go though. Thank you so much for teaching this. As always I love watching your videos and listening to your calming voice.
Thank you so much Heather :)
Hi Natasha,
Lovely video, I love the use of nail polish!!!.
I found the bamboo bead roller on Etsy & Ebay. but not paying the cost of postage to get one into Australia. so have decided to make one myself.
Thank you for everything
Thank you for being so thorough with your instruction. Ihave old calendars as well and these would be so much fun to create. I might try my metallic paints and alcohol inks as well to see what look I can create. Thanks for the inspiration.
Just when I thought I had had enough of making paper beads for now. Here we go again! As always, thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you so much :)
Hello Natasa, haven't made these in years, got a kit many moons ago it was fun. Love your big paper beads they are beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Denise!!
My grandpa used to make paper bead necklaces for us when we were kids; I've made lots of beads myself but I never thought of using glitter nail polish on them, great idea!
How grateful is to have you! Your imagination goes and goes...it is really endless and enjoyable to watch your videos. One more time, you, Nathasa are awesome! Those beads are so beautiful and easy to make for sharing even as a simple key chain ring 😍I'm in love with them and the easy way to do. Thanks for sharing 🥰!!!
Thank you, I had seen this done one time and just thought about making some myself this morning. You're video was the first one to pop up. I'm excited to get started. Thanks again for sharing your technique. Get well soon!
Thank you 😊 Have fun!!
Definitely please continue to do more paper beads. It's my first time to make these treasures and as always, thanks for the inspiration Natasha. -Dave from the Philippines 💙
Thank you so much Dave!
Absolutely beautiful beads. No worries about the year of calendars. I’ve got some from 1990! 🤭Wonderful ideas other than tags 🏷 and pockets in journals. Love ❤️ this video. Hugs 🤗 DarvaDee USA 🇺🇸
I just found my stash of paper beads and roller yesterday! Watching you makes me want to get it out and make more!
Amazing u r sooooo talented I just love everything u make and these beads will be a great addition for junk journaling! These paper beads would go perfectly with the paper tassels u made before!!!!!🤩
Yes!! Thank you for watching 😊
I think you are so remarkably creative. I have never tried making beads because I always thought that it would be very difficult but you have explained it so well. Thank you for your top notch explanations and how tos for the somewhat creatively challenged. As always I am amazed by your talent as well as your very down to earth personality.. Many thanks!
Thank you so much Janice! 😊
I just ordered a5 PC set of paper bead rollers similar to what you have. Can't wait til they come! This was a great video. Thank you so much!
I have plenty of paper all kinds (bought a box of pre-cut book covers years ago), toothpicks, nail polish. I used to roll as you do, then I bought a contraption. I was distracted by card making.Time to get to work, it's been awhile. Much appreciation to you and for you.
Hi, Natasa Hope you are feeling better!🥰
This is a first paper bead making for me and I can’t wait to create them! Such a cool idea! Thank you for your inspiration! You are so much fun. 💗💗💗

I never knew how easy these could be to make...of course you make it look easy😉Going to give them a try, Natasa! Thanks! So glad you

Thank you so much :)
Natasha, I LOVE all of your bead projects. You are so talented. Anything goes together and looks great after your touches. Love all of your talents.
These are very pretty, when I was a teenager I made paper beads and used them to make a bead curtain for my bedroom door, but these with the glitter on really gives them a lovely zoosh up, thank you for sharing.
Natasha you are the best! Love your paper beads. Calendar pages are a great idea. I still make paper beads. The technique is so very versatile and the beads are stunning. I love that they are very lightweight. Thank you for this great explanation and demo.
Hope you are all better quickly! I love these beads!
I love these!! I can’t wait to try to make some of these beads. I have old nail polish and I am going to try to use them on beads. Hope you feel much better soon. Thank you for sharing these with us!

Natasa you make these look so simple and pretty. I haven't tried researching sine I was young. Maybe I should give them a try again.
Hi Mrs. Natasha. Victoria from Riverside, IL~ Thank you for this Tutorial. I know this was a year ago… but it’s very helpful to me now.. 😃🌼 These paper beads can be used in all kinds of ways. But your ideas are so great! 🌻
Hello Natasha, I'm sure glad you are feeling better. I really hate to hear of anyone not feeling well. Gorgeous paper beads. And I just love the journal covers you and your parents make together. They are gorgeous in and of themselves even if it didn't have your creative journal signatures inside. Take care young lady and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Thank you so much lovely Becky!
These are so beautiful. I think I'll try to make some. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. I look forward to your videos. As a disabled veteran, I suffer from insomnia.....sooooo I've binged watched a lot of your videos and they have me making papercrafts like crazy, I've made quite a few of your projects. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us.
You are an excellent teacher! What a fun idea! I think my grandma did this in the 60’s. I have a vague memory of her rolling them as a little girl!🥰 I sent this to my granddaughters and we will do a FT visit soon to make them! 2017! I do too. They have such pretty pictures, I always think I will use them for something! Look here! I will do something with them! Thanks!
That bead roller is neat! I wouldn't mind having that, as an incentive to bead up the papers I seem to hoard. The paperclip trick is neat, too!! Thank you, Natasa!
😂😂😂. Paper beading is addictive
I am soooo eager to make beads now. They’re beautiful, almost free to make, and each one is unique!! Thanks! Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
I spent most of the day yesterday making some beads ❤️. Now off to the dollar store to get some glitter polish!
Thank you for sharing your talent and the inspiration you give with your videos. You are so lucky to have items where your father and mother have also worked on them. What lovely keepsakes to have. Enjoy your day! Catherine
Love these beads.. great use for cheep nail polish I-had. gotten for kids to paint rocks.
You ever come across a vid and didn’t know you needed it? Well now I NEED to do this. Never heard of this by its very beautiful
I just love this video and it has inspired me to make them again. I have made them before a few years ago and have been collecting papers to make them again. It is fun to make all the different shapes. One thing I found that if you put pva glue all along the paper strip that when it dries the bead is harder and feels less like paper. I also use modge podge to seal beads and then coat with the glitter fingernail polish. This makes a really hard bead. I love adding different colored glitter and combinations are as you say endless.
Absolutely so much fun, definitely going to be trying and making!!!
I made some beads after watching your first video - so fun! Looks like it’s time to make some more! These are so pretty!! My grandkids are here visiting and my granddaughter might enjoy this with me. ❤️ Thank you for another fun and inspiring video. Glad you are feeling better! ❤️
That beautiful sparkles makes me absolutely a fan of glitter. Wonderfull project. Thank you!!!
Great idea and tutorial. I love recycling old bits and bobs to give them a new life. It's like reincarnation for the crafting world! x
I'm feeling inspired about the long beads! Very pretty. Thanks
Always love your adventurous spirit when it comes to creating and trying something new. "Gluggy"... what a perfect word!😅
Thank you Natasha…Really enjoyed your video…I’ve never made any paper beads before but will give it a go! Cheers for all your tips etc X
Oh my gosh! When you pull out the earrings at 24:30, I used to have a pair of those! In gold and in copper. I repurposed both into purse charms I sold a few years back. Lol.
Hi Natasha, thanks for bringing the ideas back. I have a lot of paper beads. They are just stored away. Have a lovely day. Bye for now seen
Glad you are feeling better. Great tutorial. Beautiful beads. Thanks for sharing.
Natasha, another great video! You are a very good instructor and explain things so well! This is a great project!!! Thank you for all your inspiration! ❤️❤️❤️
Love love love these beads. I’m already in search of scraps and colorful calandres….!!!!!!!!!
Have fun Janie!!
I was in a bad mood.....but watching this video in the morning made my day...... thank you❤❤❤
Yes it HAS rekindled the spark! I was on a kick rolling paper beads for awhile and have a small bucket full of triangle strips, a glue stick and a skewer waiting for me to get back to. Now I am looking forward to it but need to find some calendar paper and make some wide/long beads like yours. Most of mine are only about an inch tall or so. Thank you for your wonderful video!
Thank you for watching 🤗
I used to make paper beads when I was a kid and now I want to do them again. Thank you!
I once got a tablet of very gaudy glitter paper in a junk shop grab bag and I’ve held on to that tablet forever, perpetually moving it out of the way from one spot to another, from one shelf or drawer to another. Your video inspired me and NOW I have a project for its use: glittery beads to add onto holiday gift tags!!! Rolling it for beads totally changes the look of the paper from gaudy to WOW and the beads, once sealed, are gorgeous! Thanks for the inspiration.
I totally agree!! And I am the same with my glitter pots, moving them from one place to another, never knowing what to do with it :)
I love the idea to use glitter nail polish to seal them. I've recently started making some paper beads, but just sealed them with mod podge. I like the glitter polish better!
I love this! Thank you for sharing! I have watched many of your videos and loved everyone! You have a real inspiring way with all your tutorials! Wondering if you have done any angels for embellishments, I have not seen any and wondering if you will have any in the near future! Big hugs! Again thank you for sharing your beautiful inspiring videos!
Using calendar pages is a brilliant idea! Also the glitter nail polish. Definitely going to try both, I love making paper beads. Thank you 😊
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching :)
