  • I am smooshing paint today to make some recycled papers look pretty. We use so many different papers in our journals, many of them old book pages, and it is nice to have a few artistic techniques to make them even more beautiful. I hope you find this easy method of using paint an effective way of dressing up any kind of paper! Today I’m using music, but just about any paper will work.
    This video is in support of Anne at @MeadowBookJournaling here on CZcams and her #meadowbookmarch series. A link to her channel is below and if you feel inclined, you could go give her some support! And I hope you’ll check out the hashtag to see the many different artists who are participating this month. Thanks, Anne, for inviting me to play.

    Kathleen…Best art teacher ever. This really is a great way to bring harmony (or would you say continuity) to a journal. One can look at the items we want to include in a journal and repeat some of the colours onto paper. I especially like the idea of using the coloured paper on tag backgrounds. I am now intrigued and will look into the other videos. Thanks.

    I love smooching paint on paper!! So easy, fun, and relaxing 😃
    I much prefer the subtlety of the watercolors to the thick acrylic, and I often just use my Crayola markers on a plastic sheet protector and spray water on it... especially when I'm to lazy to get my watercolors out 😄.
    Have a wonderful day, Kathleen!! 🤗💕

      Thanks for watching Nathalie! I agree that the watercolors are more appealing - your suggestion for Crayola markers is fabulous! Thanks for sharing that.

      You are so kind Leslie! I’m glad you look forward to my videos. That makes me so happy. I hope you’ll give this a try - it’s really so effective. I did update the description with all the info now that I’m awake, haha. These videos usually upload during the night and if all goes well I can manage all the details when I’m not asleep…

    Kathleen have you ever used a pouring medium when doing the acrylic paint on the music paper. I haven't but my son has told me to experiment with it

    • @BeAgainBooks
      @BeAgainBooks  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes Darlene! I hope you will experiment with it. I didn’t use it here, but pouring medium is similar to a glaze medium and I use that all the time. It thins the paint much better than water and makes it a little more transparent and glossy AND it slows the drying time. So, it’s an interesting product and fun to play with. BTW, there is also a product made for air brushing that is similar as well. They all work kind of the same.
