Comparison and review of the Chanel Classic Double Flap in black lambskin with gold plated hardware to the Chanel Wallet on Chain in Black caviar leather with gold-tone hardware.
I filmed this video in August 2015 and misplaced the footage which I recently found, yay! This is pre-haircut and 7+ month old recording, hope you enjoy and find useful.
NOTE: The WOC had 6 months of wear at this point, and you can see the difference in the wear versus the 1 year review of the WOC I recently posted - I was surprised at the amount of wear and didn't realize it had worn so much.

I commented on this awhile ago, but I cannot stop using my woc!!! it's everything and it's not as common as other designer bags! I love it!

Nice video! I have the Woc and the jumbo and sometimes I feel like I’m just supposed to add a medium flap to my collection ... but think do I really need a medium flap in my collection? After Watching this video ... I know it would be pointless to get a medium. I love my woc and it’s one of my faves because of the versatility. Great video!

+CapeCodBelle I know right, it fits so much! I never thought I'd use it as a full-size purse (but I carry very little) however it holds all the essentials and even a bit more, definitely check it out - I love it!!
I LOVE the small classic flap bag, it's my absolute dream bag but unfortunately the retail price is such a turn off! Do you mind sharing how much you purchased it for (and was it new or pre-loved)?

+Najalene Yay congrats dear!!!!! What kind (combination) did you buy? Yes the leather definitely wears in with time, especially on the sides so your items inside lay better/easier than at first. However, I used mine SO MUCH when I first bought it so it probably stretched pretty quickly 🙈

Chevron is probably my favorite Chanel pattern :) I was thinking back, and I carried only a cles, keys, and lipstick with me when I just got it because it was tight and as I kept using and putting more stuff little by little, it began to stretch. I know it's a bit cliche but if you use it often, it'll stretch to what you want it to be :) Congrats again on your stunning woc and enjoy it to its fullest! 💛

+Nicole Benitez I'm 5'2" and it falls at a very comfortable length on me and I'm very short waisted. If you're concerned, you should try it out at a boutique if you can, or buy with a good return policy 😃 Definitely the WOC, I don't like the speedyb30 at all 😆😀

Nicole Benitez the speedy b will fit more. both are classic. depends on which u will use more. speedy is more everyday. woc is special occasion, travel or weekend bag. U will most likely get more use from speedy b

im only 5'2 too. do you find the straps unraveling/falling out every time you open the bag? like if you were standing in line and open your bag to take out your credit card or something
+ime No I've never had the strap unravel, but I don't open the flap all the way back just lift it enough to get my stuff out - hope that makes sense 😁 But since it's one piece of leather and not stitched in the back, it doesn't flip backwards if you know what I mean

+Rachel Kitching That's a difficult question.. Personally I prefer lambskin to caviar but I think that considering how much a WOC usually gets used it's much less likely to get battered if you get the caviar. I guess I'd recommend the caviar only because I've used mine for 1.5 years and never been careful, and I haven't a scratch or wear on it - I hope this helps!

I am considering the lambskin Small Classic Flap versus the lambskin WOC - glad I watched your video. I definitely would have utilized the zip pouch and/or that inside flap zipper for receipts and hair ties. Is there any reason you don't toss the receipts in the coin purse?
+A. B. The only reason I don't use the zippered pouch is because I'm lazy 😋 Not a great reason, I know but I just can't be bothered to put them in there. You definitely get more space if you utilise the pockets, especially the credit card slots. Which bag are you leaning towards?
I am leaning towards the WOC now. I'm 5'8 and need the longer strap so I can rock my bag crossbody. Plus, the price is too good to pass up. Thank you so much for your review and for answering my question. You rock!

hi RoseElina, I have bought WOC for almost two months now, it was good, I even used it to go to work, or during weekends, I love it very much! @@MC-qj7sn Small flap will most likely fit more- but WOC you can wear I think more casually! I would prefer the WOC just because of price difference now- the classic flaps are $$$!!
Do you have a preference when it comes to types of leather? Trying to decide between caviar and lamb skin wocs
+Tricia H. I prefer lambskin and I have no idea what possessed me to buy the caviar but I'm glad I did because I've used it so much (and not been careful at all) and it looks excellent. I think if it's a bag you plan to use regularly, especially for travel cuz it's so convenient for that, caviar will handle the pressure better :)

How does caviar leather wear with time? More matte or more shiny?
It's hard to say, I've had mine for 3 years and I feel it has the same finish as when I bought it. However, the only difference I've noticed, is that the caviar pearls are flattened out a bit and not as defined, so it looks more smooth than it originally did. I'm assuming because of that, the bag can look shinier with age, but so far it hasn't been significant enough. Hope that helps! xx

Great comparison! But with the woc can u manage to bend it back to its original shape if it bends down? Like keep the flap straight?

No it doesn't bend straight across, i think because it has the zipper on the inside (the deep pocket) it bends the flap slightly diagonal when it's closed. However, if it's pretty empty inside then it stays straight. Hope that helps!

hows the small lambskin on wear? considering a lamb mini instead of caviar bc looks better. but durability with caviar is in back of my mind
+Adrienne Bundy I've found lambskin to be quite durable. It ages better than caviar and if anything happens, it's easily repaired as its in its natural state (of leather). Personally I think the lambskin is more delicate thing to be a myth. Lambskin shows age quicker but it does so softly whereas caviar looks good for X amount of years and then when it starts to wear it looks old and used. Hope that helps! I'm also looking into getting a mini and I'm definitely going for lamb 🙂

even in vintage market, it seemed more lambskin items are available, so RoseElina you might be right that Caviar is long lasting but not long enough to become vintage
+J Lee It's probably because caviar leather is treated to make the texture and lamb skin is natural. Usually leather that has been previously treated doesn't hold up as well as natural leather.
I got the lambskin card holder which has the half moon bag at the back which is so cute, might be i can see how the lambskin wear and tear by time
had to watch it at 2x speed 😬🤧

Woc is meant to be a large wallet... So just keep it that way. You are gonna destroy it over time by fitting in THAT many things. And the shape doesn't look as pretty anymore when u put that many things in the woc.
ashleynunusu I'm not concerned with it looking pretty, it's meant to serve a purpose of holding your items - not to be kept pristine. It's just a bag. If it gets destroyed, so be it I bought it so I can choose how to treat it.
