People like to argue whether twilight princess or majoras mask is darker.
Twilight princess is dark because it deals with more serious situations, and it's realistic tone.
But majoras mask is dark on a more mental and twisted level, for me that takes the cake any day.

Feels that majoras mask is darker. You are healing souls of the dead, saving a town as a moon is about to destroy the area and kill the people within 3 days, you have to free innocent spirits from evil masks, and all this happens after Link falls into an endless pit inside a tree. You have tp help Great Fairies that have been shattered by an evil mask, a mask too powerfull that it's power cannot be controlled, even by the mask itself.

when I first played MM, I loved the game for many reasons, but the one that stands out is this moment when you save the world from certain doom. when I first heard the oath to order, I was blown away by how symbolic and beautiful it was.
However, when I hear Smooth's acapella of this magical melody, I started to cry and swell up with the same emotions I got from the game. I have never felt these emotions in YEARS. this is a beautifully done and well made recreation of my past memories put in to a song, like his amazing vocals life was playing my soul's journey through time in my ears.

The Bandit You'd think right? Idk i found Majora's mask to be the more interesting game, though do not get me wrong. OoT was fantastic. Loved all the music in OoT and Majora's Mask. But this was one Haunting Melody that stuck with me. Not some music that a crazy guy in a Windmill heard one time, but a call to save the world from Moon death :P
Zachary Cadena I honestly think OoT is overrated. Like, of course it's a good game, but there still are much better Zelda games than that you know? My favourites so far are ALTTP and WW though, but I haven't played any of the mobile Zelda games except for the DS titles (which sucked IMO) yet.
I honestly think it's a tad overrated too, but the music is fantastic. By the way you should try and play a Link Between Worlds. It is by far the best mobile zelda.

My theory to answer your confusion is that, because music is just numbers converted to resonating notes and combinations of notes. I believe that maybe music satisfied your soul, that's just my theory, I believe in the soul,and that it is affected by what we listen to.

+ShadowLord Zero This whole game has a surreal vibe to it, almost like it was a psychological experiment to see how it can invoke negative emotions in people. I have to play Majora's Mask sparingly, and I especially have to mute the TV whenever Oath to Order is to play, or I'll be bummed out for a week. There was even a theory that Link is actually dead the whole time in this game, as the whole story represents the five stages of grief.

Majora's Mask came out when I was 15. When I first heard this song I thought, (without trying to be morbid), that I'd like it to play at my funeral, voices echoing in the high arches of a church. 17 years later when I listen to you sing it, I still feel that way. It's so evocative of the melancholy of loss that it feels appropriate.

the song of storms isn't very musically interesting, though. it's just an incredibly basic progression loop that lasts like 15 seconds.
Tloz Oracle of seasons/ages overworld theme is the best ost my opinion
Everyone just kind of assumed they had it in them for the entire game but from the cutscene it is pretty apparent that wasn't an easy thing for them. The Giant's did not specifically exist for the purpose of catching moons, they just happened to be able to do so. Heck for all Link knew before he summoned them they could've been like Skyrim giants(who're only good for sending people to the moon, not stopping falling moons), as opposed to the 80 meter tall kind(80 meters is just a guess). If they were just a bit weaker(one of them had taken to spending their time in hiding eating doritos and watching Netflix instead of hitting the gym everyday) or Termina had a slightly heavier moon. Bam that thing comes down.
Just imagine the looks on everyone faces when these four giants show up to catch the moon, and freaking drop it. What's worse is, assuming standard acceleration due to gravity, and that it takes just one 14 second play through of the Song of Time(I only did a little research on that, one little loop of notes seems to be about 14 seconds), the giants would have needed to be 960 meters tall to be holding the moon high enough for it to take long enough to fall for Link to play the Song of Time. For reference the Colossal Titan from AoT is 60 meters tall; did those giants look 16x taller then the Colossal Titan? Or for reference of non-anime-nerds that is taller then the modern world's tallest building, by at least 60 meters.
I don't have time to do all the math but the Clock Tower appeared to be up to the knees of the giants from the video. Which first gives us reference of their size, but also tells us that since link is on top of the Clock Tower the giants don't merely need to be 960 meters tall, they need to be 960 meters tall from their knees up. Furthermore 50% of the Giant's height seems to come from their legs up to their knees. So the Giants are twice as tall as Clock Tower. So if Clock Tower is 960 meters tall Link would have the time he needs to play the Song of Time. Problem is the modern world's tallest stone building is 167 meters tall. If modern science caps out just around 170, there is no way a land at swords and shields tech could build a tower that is 960 meters tall.
So my numbers are rough so I'll give a pretty large margin of error here, assuming that Clock Tower is a miracle of engineering and is actually 170 meters tall, and it anywhere from 30% to 50% as tall as the giants the absolute tallest the Giants could be is 567 meters tall or as short as 340 meters tall. That gives Link nowhere near as much as time as he needs. Which is already assuming Clock Tower is taller then any stone building that exists! It is also assuming that the Giants slow the moon to effectively 0 m/s before dropping it, while in reality it likely had some original velocity still(you know from falling from space). That's the best possible case scenario Link could ask for and it still falls horribly short.
Good thing the whole Giants plan worked out without any back ups in place huh?
Some clarifications: In the first paragraph I referred to the giants as 80 meters tall but then proceeded to do some psuedo-math to calculate the height of the giants. Which kind of seems silly really. The 80 meters tall was just me eye-balling their height; I hadn't done any math by the time I wrote that bit. I kind of did all these calculations as I went.

It was just a fun calculation. I got a bit curious and grabbed my calculator. Sure you can say "nah because magic," but that's just kind of boring you know? The world is just more interesting through a curious eye, willing to ask silly questions about fictional moons and magic ocarinas.
Besides its kind of a funny mental image isn't it? "Yay we summoned the giants! They'll stop the moon! Yay! Everything is awesome! Wait is his grip slipping?"
Gosh this song is so amazing...none the less by smooth mcgroove!!! It gives me the vibe that in a world with no hope at all there is one last thing that could reverse the impending doom thats about to strike...this is the last chance...and this is the last hope for everything.

Why did Wind Waker get a HD release? This game would have improved a lot if it got a HD release on the WiiU. You wouldn't have to deal with pausing all the time to switch around your masks with the WiiU's touchscreen controller.

I am fairly certain people would have a better experience on a home console than a portable. Not only for the graphics and frame rates but the WiiU also has touchscreen so the 3DS isn't better in that regard either.
Really though I am just angry that Wind Waker got the HD treatment at all when Majora's Mask is a better candidate. Wind Waker has aged very well whereas Majora's Mask didn't. I even think Majora's Mask looked kind of bad when it was first released (the game did have a rushed development.)
Wind waker only got an HD version because they put toon links model into the demo had zelda thing and it had such an impact that they remade the whole game and it just makes sense that majoras mask is on 3DS on account of OOT3D

I am fairly certain that the real reason they ported Wind Waker was because it was cel-shaded (it was easier) But this just ruins the idea of making HD re-release because there's nothing wrong with the game. Wind Waker is even more recent which makes it even more stupid to bring back.
Majora's Mask was quickly made and it suffered for it. Games like OoT, LttP and WW had more time put into them and they became classics because of it. There is no point in re-making them, they can't be improved. At least not big improvements.
If they would have made MM on WiiU it would take much longer for it to release because they would need to make new models for everything and make the graphics. But on the 3DS they already had alot of the models and they also had the graphics engine from OoT3D. So it made much more sense to make it on 3DS.

Tanner Tomak when you finish the game and the giants walk away the giants sing the oath to order while it plays in the background. That's the only time other than the first time you learn the song that you hear the two together. But yes I agree this is absolutely amazing
